I was arguing with Sam and Dean. "You what?!" I asked my eldest brother. "Just hear me out." Dean said. "Oh lovely just like summer at dad's." Athena said. "I heard Cas, Rina, and Crowley when they said it would either kill me or turn me to jello or make Mae suicidal, Dean! I heard enough!" Sam screamed at the man. "Death said he can put up a wall." Dean said. "A wall?" Sam and I asked. "Yes, yes, a wall --that -- that, basically, Sam wouldn't remember hell." Dean said. "And me?" I asked. "My dad already put a wall in your head." Hermes said. "Really?" Sam asked. "Really." Dean said. "For good? Like a cure?" I asked. "No, it's not a cure. It...He said it could last a lifetime." Dean said. "Great. So, playing pretty fast and loose with my life here, don't you think, Dean?" Sam said. "When don't we do that?" I asked. "I'm trying to save your life!" Dean yelled."Exactly, Dean! It's my life! It's my life, it's my soul. And it sure as hell ain't your head that's gonna explode when this whole scheme of yours goes sideways!" Sam yelled. "Why do I have the overwhelming urge to call Grumpy Moose, Karen?" Ricky asked. "I don't know." Kara said. "Just curious. I presume Death's not doing this out of the goodness of his heart. So what's your half of the deal?" Bobby said. Dean mumbled. "I'm sorry. I didn't get that." Ma said. "I have to wear the ring for a day." Dean said. "Why the hell would he want you to do that?" Pa asked. "Get his rocks off. I don't know. But I'm doing it." Dean said. Sam was leaving. "Where you going?" Alison asked. "Look, I hear you, all right? I get it. I just need a minute to wrap my head around it, all right?" Sam said and left. I walked outside and saw Sam looking for probably Death's ring. "Looking for this?" I asked showing it. "Just taking a walk." Sam said shrugging and I rolled my eyes. "Sam. I'm your sister. I'm not gonna let you get hurt. I get what Dean's doing here." I said. "What if he's wrong?" Sam asked. "I won't let it go wrong." Dean said. "Fine." Sam said. "You're not putting up a fight." I said. "So, I'm trusting Dean here. Barely." Sam said. "You sure?" Dean said. "You're the one with the compass, right? Just don't mess it up." Sam said. "I won't." Dean said. Ricky and Sammi left for siblings bonding, Alison and Athena had to help another hunter, and Hermes was summoned to do something. "Watch him." Kara said leaving with Dean. "What's the worst he could do?" Reece asked eating a ring pop. "Kill us." Evelyn said. "So, is this the part where you all pull a gun on me and lock me in the panic room?" Sam said. "Do we have to Screamer?" Reece asked him. "No. I guess Dean's got to do what he's got to do." Sam said. "Guess we all do, kid." Pa said. We had a relaxing day. "Hey what was Alison and Athena doing?" I asked. "Helping Garth." Ma said. "He's the moron." Reece said. We went to sleep and woke up to no Sam. "Shouldn't he sleep?" Evelyn asked. "If he's soulless he can't." I said. "Oh wow." Reece said. We were sitting and Sam walked in and we all looked at him. "Woke up and you were gone. Where you been?" Bobby said. "Just driving around. No biggie." Sam said. We nodded. "Want to play poker?" Pa asked and Sam nodded and say down. "Fair warning I've never lost." Ma said. They played while Evelyn, Reece, and I ate some cheesecake that Ma made. "Pair of aces." Sam said setting a card down. "Want another one?" Bobby asked about a beer. "Yeah, sure." Sam said. I saw Sam grab a wrench I got my sword and deflected Sam while Ma knocked Sam unconscious. "May have been born at night, boy, but it wasn't last night." Ma said. I turned to put my sword necklace back on and we saw Sam went missing. "Not good. Let's not do anything hasty here, Sam." Bobby said. We all ran in a closet and Sam was chopping it down with a axes. "Don't say, here's Johnny." Evelyn said. "I got to do this, Bobby. I'm sorry. You shouldn't have cornered yourself." Sam said. "You're the one trying to murder him and anyone who is protecting him." Reece said. "Also, I didn't!" Bobby said and trapdoor opened under Sam and made Sam fall through. "Reinforced steel core, titanium kick plate. Get comfy. You want to explain what this is about?" Bobby said. "I just, uh...I have to do this, Bobby." Sam said. "Says who?" I asked. "If Dean shoves that soul back in me, think how bad that could really be. I can't let it happen, Bobby. I mean, it's not like I want to kill you. You've been nothing but good to me." Sam said. "So...What, demon deal or something?" Pa asked. "Spell." Sam said. We looked at Evelyn. "I don't know any spell like that and why would I want Bobby dead." Evelyn said. "You're making a mistake, Sam." Ma said. "I'm trying to survive." Sam said. "Dean's got a way to make it safe." I said. "Oh, yeah, what, some wall inside my head that maybe stays up? Come on Mae I know you are suffering from night terrors from that, I hear the screaming." Sam said. "It'll be different mine is by Gods yours will work." I said. "Yeah, what if it doesn't? Dean doesn't care about me. He -- he just cares about his little brother, Sammy, burning in hell. He'll kill me to get that other guy back." Sam said. "Look, I... I know how scary it is. But you know what's scarier? You right now. You're not in your right head, Sam. You're not giving us much choice here." Ma said and we heard nothing. "Sam? Balls!" Bobby said we opened the door. "Ain't nobody killing us in this house but Bobby." Reece said. "I don't want to blow your legs out, boy, but I will." Bobby said. We went to get him and followed Sam's blood to a shed and everything went black. We woke up tied to chairs. "Listen to me. You don't want to do this. Sam. I've been like a father to you, boy. Somewhere inside, you've got to know that." Bobby said. "Well, that's just it. Sorry." Sam said. But two people grabbed him. "Hi, Sam. Kara and I are back." Dean said and knocked Sam unconscious. "Thank you." We said. "Damn soulless people pack a punch." Ma said. We handcuffed him to the cot in the panic room. "So he tried killing you all?" Alison asked. "Yeah and be glad you weren't here." Reece said. "Yeah if he knocked Hades and Persephone he'd probably hurt us." Athena said. I walked down the panic room. "I can't keep doing this, Bobby. I mean, what am I, gonna tie him up every time he tries to kill someone? And that's not gonna hold him. I mean, he's..." Dean trailed off. "Capable of anything." I said they nodded. "What am I supposed to do here?" Dean asked. "We don't know." Ma said rubbing Dean's back who hugged her and Ma rubbed his back. "I hate this, I can't be weak." Dean said. "Dean take this from me, even the strongest people need to break down." Ma said and Dean nodded and Ma stood up and he followed us all upstairs, Bobby stayed downstairs, Ricky and Sammi walked in. "Um if police drive by and it ain't Carol or Jody, who's gonna explain the blood?" Ricky asked. "Rabid animal." Ma said. "Dean. Join me. Brought you all one from a little stand in Los Angeles known for their bacon dogs. Sit." Some skinny dude said. "Death." Ma and Pa said taking the hotdogs and so did we. "Boy, what's with you and cheap food?" Dean asked. "It's good." Sammi said shrugging. "I could ask you the same thing. Thought I'd have a treat before I put the ring back on. Heavier than it looks, isn't it? Sometimes, you just want the thing off. But you know that. Not hungry?" Death said. "Look... I think you know that I flunked. So there. Oh, and by the way, I, uh...I sucked at being you. Really screwed up the whole natural order thing. But I'm sure you knew about that, too." Dean said. "So, if you could go back, would you simply kill the little girl? No fuss, no stomping your feet?" Death said. "What you killed a girl?" Kara asked quirking an eyebrow. "Knowing what I know now, yeah." Dean said. "I'm surprised to hear that. Surprised and glad." Death said. "Yeah, well, don't get excited. I would have saved the nurse, okay? That's it." Dean said. "I think it's a little more than that. Today, you got a hard look behind the curtain. Wrecking the natural order's not quite such fun when you have to mop up the mess, is it? This is hard for you, Dean. You throw away your life because you've come to assume that it'll bounce right back into your lap. But the human soul is not a rubber ball. It's vulnerable, impermanent, but stronger than you know. And more valuable than you can imagine. So... I think you've learned something today." Death said. "Want to know what I think? I think you knew that I wouldn't last a day." Kara said. "I have no idea what you're talking about." Death said. "I lost. Fine. But at least have the balls to admit that it was rigged from the jump." Dean said mad. "Most people speak to me with more respect." Death said. "Persy and I respect these hotdogs more than you." Pa said. "We're done here. It's been lovely. But now I'm going to go to hell to get your brother's soul." Death said. "Why would you do that for me?" Dean asked. "I wouldn't do it for you. You and your family keep coming back. You're an affront to the balance of the universe, and you cause disruption on a global scale." Death said. "I apologize for that." Kara said. "But you have use. Right now, you're digging at something. The intrepid Detective. I want you all to keep digging." Death said. "So you're just gonna be cryptic, or..." Sammi trailed off. "It's about the souls. You'll understand when you need to." Death said. "Wait --with Sam... Is this wall thing really gonna work?" I asked him. "Call it 75%." Death said. "Bobby!" Dean and I yelled. "Open the door." I ordered. "What happened?" Bobby asked. "Now!" Dean yelled. "It won't open." Bobby said. "It's too late I can see his soul." I said. "And?" The two asked. "It's okay." I lied seeing the thing being highly cracked close to shattering.
