I was so proud of myself because I didn't tell Megan and her mother to fuck right off even though I so wanted to tell them that, so that was an achievement, well for me at least.

Georgie was chilling on the couch when we came back from the family centre, because he doesn't do much when he doesn't have to, (he was like most teenagers though).

"So how did the family thing go?"

"Meh, it was alright Georgie, though I don't think Ro was very impressed"

"(Laughs), I don't blame her, I hated it when I had to do it when Mum and Dad actually officially split"

"Me too Georgie boy, me too"

"Uncle Georgie, I drew our family"

"Is this you?"

"Silly Uncle Georgie, (giggles), that's Nana with her teapot"

"Ok so if that's Nana, this must be you then"

"No, that's you because you're the only ginger, now stop being silly Uncle Georgie"

"Oh so that's me, ok so this must be your Da"

"No Uncle Georgie, (giggles), that's me because I'm the shortest, duh"

"Did you just 'duh' me?"

"Yes Uncle Georgie, because it's obvious that it's me"

"Ok ok ok, you're right Ro, so this is your Da?"

"Yes, that's Daddy, you can have the picture Uncle Georgie"

"Thank you Ro"

"You're welcome"

Ro then went and played with her barbies as most 5 year olds do.

"Why would Rowan give me this?"

"In her words 'because Uncle Georgie haven't got one of my pictures yet', duh"

"But Teddy, I'm not anyone special to her"

"But you are Kiddo, you are one of three people in her family picture Georgie, that in itself proves that you are in fact someone special to her"

"She was probably just said that to be nice"

"No Georgie, don't be ridiculous, Ro wouldn't do that, she's too honest for that, she reminds me of Katie a lot in that aspect"

There was a pause, and it was a long, long, long pause.

"I haven't heard anyone talk about Katie in a long time"

"I know, I haven't either, I visited her grave recently"

"When?"

"A couple of weeks ago, I had time to kill after a job interview, she needed some company anyway"

"Does Ro know about her?"

"Yeah, Ro knows about Katie, she found me crying on the kitchen at 1 O'clock in the morning on the anniversary of Katie's death, though explaining the concept of death to a then 4 year old is very weird"

"I believe that, I miss Katie"

"I miss her too, you know that she was the one that started calling you Georgie"

"Oh, I didn't know that"

"I know you didn't know Georgie, she also was the who named Ro"

"But she died before Ro was born"

I took a deep breath so I wouldn't start to cry.

"I know Georgie, I know but she told me that she liked the name Rowan, Katie was going to be Ro's godmother and everything, so when Katie died, well I still wanted Katie to be apart of Ro's life somehow, then when Ro was born Megan left without even looking at Ro and I, and with Ro on life support because of how early she was born, I was fucking terrified of losing Ro too, I mean I wasn't even allowed to hold her, but I didn't leave the hospital until she was able to come home, and I guess that's part of the reason why I'm extremely over protective of Ro, though some of it is from being a parent in general"

Georgie pulled me into a hug, because he could be a softie sometimes, regardless of what people think of him.

"I don't remember Ro being on life support"

"Don't feel bad about it Georgie, you were barely 9, and mum didn't allow you into the hospital to see her anyway, because in her words 'what's the point in Georgie coming when she could just die at any minute', so you didn't see Ro on life support"

"I know that this is personal so you don't have to answer the question if you don't want to Teddy, but would you have another kid"

"Nah, that's why Maddie and I broke up, but it's not because I don't like kids, 'cause if I could have a kid by myself I would have like a small army of them, but I don't want to bring any child of mine into a relationship that is doomed"

"That's very smart, but it's probably comes from a really sad place"

"Yes, to be honest with you the whole thing with Mum and Dad's relationship has honestly fucked me up Georgie"

"It's fucked everyone up bar Mollie up"

"Mollie is too young to tell if it's true as of yet"
