Teddy PoV

It was still Ro's birthday, it was 4 in the evening, is 4pm too early to call it evening?, anyway Ro was asleep on the couch.

I was just staring out of the window with a cup of tea in my hand, enjoying the peace that seemed to be there, that peace was disturbed when I heard a knock on the front door, so I went to answer it, because I was a responsible flat owner.

"Hello Teddy"

"Meg, what the hell are you doing here?"

"I want to see Rowan"

"I'm sorry but she's asleep"

"Then go wake her up"

"Meg, you can just fuck right off, I'm not waking her up just so she can meet you, how the hell did you get this address anyway?"

"Your mother gave me it Teddy"

I rolled my eyeballs because it couldn't have anybody else who told Megan where Ro and I lived.

"Of course she did, I have a question for you"

"Ok?"

"Did either of you actually think about the fact that maybe, just maybe it's better off that you don't just waltz in and out of Ro's life like a yo-yo, ya know?, or maybe I'm wrong?"

"It is my right to see Rowan as her mother-"

"You do realise that you'd have no legal ground in court right, because you haven't seen Ro since the day she was born Meg, which was 5 years ago, I know this because I checked in case something like this happened"

"Oh don't give me that bullshit, because I have tried Teddy"

"(Snorts), once, and that was 2 years ago on a random Saturday morning because of the fact that you felt your fucking Catholic guilt burn through your fucking holy soul or some bullshit like that"

"Please don't be arsey about it, just give me a chance Teddy, look I know I fucked up, and I fucked up massively, but I want you to know that I'm a changed person now"

"This isn't about you Meg, funnily enough, I know it's such a hard concept for you to understand but this is about Ro and how it will affect her wellbeing, I mean your track record for being her mother is shit, firstly you left her in the hospital in the incubator to die, secondly you haven't actually met her because of the first point, thirdly you blamed her for 'ruining your life', which gets on my fucking nerves!, because you were never actually there for her so how did becoming a mother even change your life Meg?!, will you so kindly enlighten me on the fucking subject?!"

Megan looked pissed off, like she was gonna bust a gut, or a vain if she didn't calm down.

"Look Teddy, I understand why you're ang-"

"Do you now, do you really, for some reason I highly fucking doubt that but go off Sis"

"Look Teddy I only left the day Rowan was born because I didn't want to get attached to a baby that could've died"

"I don't give a shit about why you left our daughter!, because that was your decision!, but don't you dare say that Ro nearly dying was the only reason why you left!, because we both know that it's not!, now just fuck off!, because I don't wanna see your face!"

"Teddy-"

"No Meg!, no, just leave, please just leave, I can't let you hurt Ro and I again"

"I won't-"

"Don't fucking bullshit me, I'm not stupid and I don't need your bullshit right now, or ever but that's not a conversation that I'm going to have with you, now I'm begging you, please just leave us alone"

"Give me a chance Teddy-"

"We both know why I can't Meg, so please just leave"

"Fine, just remember that Rowan is my daughter too"

"You know what, fuck you Meg!, fuck you!, I'm not the one who fucking forgot that Rowan is our daughter Meg, I didn't make you leave her, because if anything I wanted you to stay, but no you had to tell me that you lead me on about the whole parenting thing, so don't you fucking dare try to pin your neglect on me, Ro doesn't need to know how much it hurts to be played by you-"

"What makes you say that I'll pla-"

"Because that's how you work, that's how you fuck with peoples heads-"

"I'm not that person anymore Teddy-"

"That's what they all say when they want something Meg, but when they have what they want from you, they then fuck off and leave you hanging on to a broken promise, now fuck off Megan, before I lose my shit at you, and that won't be pretty"

I gently closed the front door, praying that Ro didn't hear the conversation/argument that just took place between Meg and I.
