Teddy PoV

My Mum was on the phone in the kitchen, talking to my Dad about stuff, not that I was eavesdropping or anything, just that I could tell by the goofy look on my Mum's face, because I could be fucking observant when I wanted to be.

"Teddy, your father's on the phone!"

"And what does that mean Mum?"

"He would like to talk to you Teddy, as any Dad would"

"There is no fucking way am I talking to that inconsiderate fucking git"

"Theodore!, you can't just say that about your father, look I know that you don't always see eye to eye with the man but he is your fathe-"

At that point I wanted to chuck the phone at the wall so that he couldn't ring here, but I didn't do that because it would make him even worse to deal with when he eventually did come down to London, which I totally didn't want that to happen so...

"There's not seeing eye to eye with the fucking man, and then there's him wanting me to pretend that Ro doesn't exist, that's like asking you to pretend that Mollie doesn't exist, and that will never happen Mum"

"(Sighs), Teddy, he didn't want you to make an irrational decision"

"Look who's talking, look Mum I'm not going to talk to him and that's final"

"Teddy, please talk to him, even if it's only for a minute or two"

"If he actually wants to talk to me, he can come to see me, I'm sick and tired of being the only one who travels Mum"

"Then you can tell him that Teddy"

"(Eye-roll), ugh, fine but I'm literally going to tell him what I need to tell and fuck off"

So I got passed the phone, unwillingly I would like to add, I took it and answered it, because I was still a minor and shit.

"So Teddy, when are you going to see your old man, eh?"

"I'm not going"

"Well why not?"

"Because I always come to you!, you never come and see us!"

"(Sighs), I've got to work Teddy"

"Look Dad, I'm in the middle of my fucking GCSE'S, which could give me an actual shot in life, look, you can come see me or not, all I know is that I'm not going to bloody Cardiff"

And I hung up before it turned into a nasty argument, I lightly threw the phone to my Mum and sat back on the chair at the dinning room table, trying to mind my own business, because back when I was 16, well I was a little shit, (though with the parents I had, I am honestly surprised that I wasn't even more of a shit, you know).

"Theodore Joshua Addams!"

"What!?"

"You can't talk to your father like that!"

"But I just did"

"That doesn't make it right Teddy"

"Oh, so it's ok for him to wish that my daughter wasn't born but it's not ok for me to tell him how I actually bloody feel, that's fucking bullshit Mum and you know it!"

Georgie then walked in, looking curious as to why Mum was now in a shit mood.

"What did you do now Teddy?"

"Hung up on Mr Addams"

"How did he take it?"

"Why the fuck would I know that Georgie boy?"

"Oh yeah, you the one that hung up on him"

"Funny that Georgie boy"

"Dickhead"

"George Harold Addams!"

"(Snorts), Mum, fucking relax will ya, he's older than I was when I first started swearing"

"Teddy, don't remind me-"

"Oh shit, I forgot, that's a touchy subject for you"

"Did you tell Dad about not going to Cardiff?"

"Georgie, I'm not daft, of course I did"

"Teddy, you know that he works a lot-"

"Yeah, no shit"

"I'm just saying that you could make it easie-"

"I'm in the middle of my GCSE's, you know, I'm trying to pass them so that I can get a decent paying job"

"A couple of days with him in Cardiff might clear your head"

"No, no, no, you see, a couple of days with him would wind me up so much that I would end up being like a week behind on my coursework, and honestly I don't need that shit right now Mum"

I went to the living room and saw Ro watching Tom and Jerry, so I manoeuvred Ro a little bit so that she was sitting on my lap.

"Hi Dada"

"Hey Baby girl, whatcha watching?"

"Tom an Derry"

"Tom and Jerry huh"

"Yeah"

We didn't talk much after that, the only sounds other than what was coming from the cartoon was Ro's frequent giggling, so I gently start brushing my fingers through Ro's hair, the world around us didn't really matter.
