《The Hybrid》A Place I call my Own

Waking up was hell. The ground is hard. It is cold out here. Being on the run is no cake-walk. My sleepy eyes open and I am in Russell's arms. The fire has burnt out through the course of the night. Now the sun bleeds into my eyelids, dragging me awake.
I look around and Alex is gone.
I jump to my feet in a second, looking all around to see if she is nearby. Anxiety pools in the pit of my stomach.
"Russell!"
He opens his eyes wide, looking around for trouble.
"Shes gone Russell! Alex is gone! What if they took her?" Tears bite my eyes, daring to fall. He stands up and grabs my hand, worry engraved in his face.
"If it was the Silvermoon pack, they would have taken us all." He bores into my eyes.
"Then where is she?" I put my forehead on his. He wraps his arms around me, trying to comfort me but it is no use.
"I may have the answer to that." I hear a voice off in the distance.
Russell and I snap our heads to the direction of the voice.
"Liam." Russell growls, pushing me slightly behind him.
Liam stands a few feet away, leaning casually against a tree, arms crossed.
"It has come to my attention," he says smoothly as he kicks off of the tree, approaching us,"You two are in need of.." he taps his chin with a finger as if he is deep in thought,"A sanctuary"
"Where is Alex." I finally find my voice, stepping from behind Russell's back.
His eyes find mine and he tilts his head.
"Safe"
"With you?" Russell scoffs.
Liam's eyes narrow, glaring at Russell.
"Yes, wolf, with me." He steps another step towards Russell, a game of intimidation, "She won't agree to stay with me unless I ensure your safety." He points a finger to Russell's chest.

"Safety, as in, away from where Tyler can reach us?" I pipe up. Liam looks at me and smiles sweetly.
"Precisely, so pack your things, darling, we're going back to my estate." Then the turns and walks away.
Russell and I stare at each other, silently communicating.
I shrug and then follow after Liam. Russell stands there for a moment contemplating. I turn around and gesture for him to follow. He growls out and then takes a few large steps to catch up with me.
We follow the vampire about a mile until we reach a road. A black sedan is parked on the side of the road.
"I swear if you hurt her-" I begin as we walk to the car.
Liam turns around swiftly, anger dancing in his eyes.
"Why would I hurt her and then promise to keep her little friends safe, Hm?" He stands towering over me. My heart picks up speed.
I sigh and nod, getting into the car. We drive for a few hours, Russell and Liam bickering back and forth like siblings the whole time.
Maybe Liam really will protect us. Why would he offer to keep us safe if he didn't actually care about Alex.

My eyes burst with joy as soon as the car pulls in the driveway. I run out to greet my friends. Addison grabs me in a tight embrace.
"You scared me!" she exclaims, scolding me for leaving.
Like it was my choice.
Liam steps out of the car and makes his way to me, grabbing my hand.
"You're going to like this next part."He gives me a soft wink then leads me to the passenger door.
It is mid-afternoon by the time we reach a small wooden gate. It opens with a button, leading to a long driveway. The gravel crunches under the wheels of the car as we drive down the path, up a hill.

A large house comes into view. It is three stories tall and made of brick. Outside of the house is a garden of roses. My jaw drops at the sight of it.
I hear Addison gasp from the back seat.
The house has a wrap around porch that is painted white. I see a swing on the porch. We drive up to the house and everybody steps out of the car.
"Home sweet home." Liam gestures to the house, showing off it's beauty.
Even Russell is taken back as Liam throws him a set of keys.
"Here you will be safe, and it is far from where you will ever be found." Liam states proudly.
My heart fills with warmth. He just gave away a whole house to keep my friends safe.
"And it is only a short drive from my own estate." He finishes sparing me another wink.
Addison finally closes her jaw that had fallen to the floor and grins at Russell.
She sequels in joy as she and Russell run towards the front door. They fumble with the keys then burst open the door to tour their new house. Here it is safe, they can raise a family without worry.
"Thank you." I breathe out, wrapping my arms around Liam's waist.
"I hope this makes you happy." He returns my hug. Pulling back he looks into my eyes, "I would do anything to make you happy, I love you."
The words float from his lips directly to my heart. My stomach flutters.
"Why me?" I giggle out.
"Because you were meant to be mine, Alexandra. You are the other half of my soul" He confesses. My eyes grow big.
The last piece of the puzzle. I was a werewolf and I had Tyler as my mate. And as a vampire, I had Liam.
We had been fated.
"I love you." I breathe out, heart full of love.
He pulls me into a deep kiss. His soft lips brushing into mine with so much lust. With the sun painting the sky vivid colors behind us, we embrace each other.
Then everything was right.

I never thought I'd be killed by butterflies. But here I am... Edmon Valli was a smuggler, before a freak storm threw him off course and stranded him on a desert island smack in the middle of an uncharted monster zone. Trying his best to survive, or possibly even escape, he stumbles across the find of a lifetime: an unclaimed dungeon crystal. This is a dungeon-ish story, but without reincarnation or transmigration. I started it as a whim for NaNoWriMo so I may drop it any time after that... or I might not. My current plan is to write until I can reach some sort of conclusion and call it 'volume one'. I hope someone enjoys reading it for now! All comments, corrections, and criticism welcome.

Just a cute lil story about Ironstrange trying to raise lil Spidey in the safest, non-dangerous way. A happy lil family. Fluff and slight nsfw. So be careful.

Author's note: the new world where Michiko is reincarnated is more or less the world of Warhammer. There will probably be some things that are inconsistent with the lore and I will be making some assumptions of my own so please don't quote me on it. Please post any problems you find down in the comments. Lastly I hope you have as much fun reading as I have writing it :)
