《The Hybrid》Trial and error

Alex-
The door to the cell opens abruptly, I drag my eyes up to meet with a guard, the light blinding me.
"It's time." he says, approaching me with handcuffs.
He slides them on my wrists, the cold metal making me wince. I had changed into simple leggings and a black t-shirt that they provided.
Nobody knew about my adventure last night. I had just returned a few hours ago and gotten no sleep.
I felt better. I felt so aware of everything. I am finally my true self.
Taking a deep breath, the guard leads me into a new building. The walls are white and bare, only holding a picture every once in a while.
We walk down the long hallway and into a courtroom. Its surreal. I stand in a wooden booth, head hanging low.
Liam didn't want me to come back. He tried to argue with me one last time before he returned me. But I didn't want to burden him with the job of protecting me for the rest of his life.
The Silvermoon pack knew where he lived. They would hunt me until they got justice.
Cleo was well known in this pack. Probably growing in rank while she slept with my mate.
I had no remorse. I killed her and now I had to face the punishments.
The trial was long. They talked about how Cleo was an active member in the pack. She helped build houses and blah blah. I zoned it out.
I replayed my life. All the times I had spent with Addison. She was my family. And how happy I was that she found someone. Russell would take care of her when I was gone. They were going to be accepted into this pack, where they would live out the rest of their days. Maybe even have a few kids.

I assume Russell had lied about being a rogue and just said he was a member of mine and Addison's pack, seeking refuge.
"Alexandra, please stand." The council finally said. I stood from my small wooden chair, head coming up at attention.
This was it. I would either be condemned to the cold, packless. Or I would die.
Death didn't scare me. Being alone did.
Liam was upset when I left. Heartbroken that I still chose to face death. So if I was to become stripped of my titles as future Luna, I would not run to knock on his doors.
I had burned that bridge. I had to. I didn't want to burden him.
"The council has come to a decision." The head of the council spoke.
I surveyed the room. I say Tyler standing firmly. He didn't dare look at me. He looked straight ahead. Did he no longer care?
Across the room I saw Addison clutching onto Russell. She was crying.
The head of the council looked directly at me. Power filled his voice as he spoke.
"Alexandra, for the murder of Cleo Kimberly, you will face death for your crimes." His eyes were cold.
My face drained of life. I am going to die.
Somehow I thought they would vote different.
I am really going to die.

Return of the Woodcutter
Aito Walker was a self-proclaimed martial artist, a criminal, a broken man, and a fishing slave who later became a woodcutter before dying due to his heavy consumption of alcohol. With thousands of other humans, he is forcefully revived into a boundless grey space by the gods of a foreign world, Iris, to take part in a never-ending war waged against Fearmongers. A race capable of corrupting living beings and inducing fear, even the bravest of warriors cannot resist—when the Fearmongers do not kill them, that is.To bait humans into this conflict, the gods offer the mortals powers in exchange of eternal servitude and the completion of trials before finally entering Iris.Even though Aito doesn’t agree with it, he sees in Iris a chance to atone for his past misdeeds, in this fantasy world of swords and magic filled with many races, where everything seems possible. He will pave his own path despite the gods he despises trying to manipulate him into doing their bidding.Aito will start with almost nothing but his wit, a peculiar system, and increased strength—much like other revived humans.Bearing a sin—he could not, cannot, and will not forget—haunting him to this day, Aito will strive to regain what little honor he has left.He will suffer and, at times, fail. Taking advantage of his weaknesses, the Fearmongers, demigods, gods, and many others will hinder his path. But a powerful yearning will keep him from falling apart. An ever-burning flame melting away the despair and welding back the broken pieces of courage.A single desire.«I will find redemption no matter the cost.»………Or not, hun, who knows? The book isn’t done yet. Haha—SLAP!«Who put this guy in the synopsis narration?! Get him out of here and launch the warnings! Now!»***WARNINGS:— The MC is human. If you’re looking for a perfect MC, you’ll only be wasting your time here. However, if you’re looking for an MC who will LEARN, GROW because of his flaws. An MC who will try his hardest to overcome adversity, then you’re in the right place.— No harems. However, it doesn’t mean the characters can’t fool around without having love interests. A relationship isn’t necessary for people to satisfy their physical desires.— You will find a few typos, grammatical and wording issues, that’s certain. I’ll do my best to bring you guys quality content and such issues will either be nonexistent or extremely few. However, one man can only do so much. If I get enough support, I’ll hire an EDITOR that will look at the chaps with a fresh eye. And POOF! Issues no more. Improved quality. Happier author and reader. Not sure if the editor will be happy tho.— The first three chapters are fast-paced as to quickly get into the nitty-gritty but slow down afterward to give the story the time it needs to progress accordingly.— The book can, never mind, it will contain «strong» language, gore and violence.— Comedy, as you know it (and if you don’t, now you know) is subjective. So you might not like the jokes.— If you truly read that until the end you have my virtual congratulations ‘cause I sure as hell wouldn’t have done that.

Demons Don't Lie
Algier, average human and recent convict, has committed the gravest sin of all: demon slaying. His fate? To participate in the Culling, a battle-royale style tournament that’s televised live to the world, where all the worst criminals go to die. As with all tournaments, a prize is on the line. If Algier survives, he can have any wish granted by the Marquises, the new rulers of Earth following the demons’ invasion. However, there’s little hope for survival in a tournament designed to have demons do the work of the executioner, especially for a human. Demons are stronger, faster, wiser, and more talented than the average human, and, despite his crime, Algier is no demon hunter. Mentally defeated before the tournament even begins, Algier is torn between becoming another demon’s points and fighting on in his dead mother’s legacy. But should he choose to fight, there is one advantage that Algier has that can tip the odds in his favour: Demons don’t lie, but humans can. How to read this story Demons Don't Lie is written from the perspective of an unreliable (lying) narrator. There are many inconsistencies within the story which are placed there intentionally. It's up to the reader to decide what is the truth and what is the lie. Promotion Full quality cover image
