《The Hybrid》Memory

He stood in front of me, his brown eyes clawing into my soul angrily as he awaited an explanation. He was mad at me.
"Addison is back." I said deflecting his demand.
"I am aware." He grunted, clearly noticing that I dodged his question.
"Well.." I searched for an escape. I could make it to the door, maybe go somewhere while he cools down. "I should go tend to her" I added quickly, moving towards the door. His arm grabbed mine, pulling me back in front of him.
"Tell me, Alex, why did I come back to find you not in this building? And when I went searching, why did I find you in our cells?" He boomed. I shrank slightly as his eyes gazed into mine, searching for the answer.
I took a deep breath. "I wanted to go for a run, let my wolf stretch her legs." I stated looking him dead in the eye.
He raised an eyebrow at me. "After I told you that you weren't to leave this building without me?" he inquired.
"Yes. Like I said. I wanted to run." I locked my eyes with his, not breaking contact. I was challenging him.
He glared at me, stepping closer to me in an attempt to intimidate me.
"So you purposefully defy my authority?" He was steaming with rage. He was like a bomb that was so close to exploding.
Our eye contact didn't break as I spat out these words. "I am not a part of your pack. Therefore, I don't follow your order." I glared. He growled loudly at my in submission.
"Don't do this Alexandra." He barked at me.
"During my run, I found Addison." I continued with my story, focusing solely on the raging alpha in front of me. "After that we were found by patrol and assumed to be rogue wolves." I informed him. He shifted under my glare. I smirked slightly.
"What if he would have killed you? Men are ordered to kill rogues or bring them in for questioning. You could have died! Do you not realize that?" He yelled at me.
The hurt in his eyes was evident as my face softened. There was a pull inside me, wanting me to run to him, comfort him until he feels better. I shoved it far into me and returned to my emotionless face.
"I can handle myself Tyler." I stated.
"But what happens when you meet someone who just simply overpowers you?" He questions. The thoughts process, running through my brain as I am stumped.
He walks closer to me, wrapping his arms around me.
"I just don't want you to get hurt." He says into my hair. I close my eyes in his grip. I feel secure and safe here.
"I know." Is all I can say. My rage completely evaporated with his touch as I just stand there with him.
He pulls away, leaving my skin cold in his absence. He looks into my eyes.
"I want to announce you as Luna." He states seriously.
.
.
.
Addison has slowly begun to adjust. Tyler gave her a room in the enormous pack house and I have shown her around the territory, with Tyler's permission of course. She misses Russell a lot, I can see it in her eyes. Whatever happened while I was gone, she has developed strong feelings for him. Every time I try to talk about what they had, Addi shuts down.

"So when is the ceremony where you get to be announced as Luna??" Addison asks excitedly as she stuffs some buttery popcorn in her mouth. We are watching a movie called Lilo and Stitch. We both lay sprawled on the couch, legs tangled as we enjoy the cartoon movie we've loved since kids. Popcorn litters the room from the last movie we watched, a sad movie. We would chunk a handful of the buttery corn at the TV every time we saw a sad scene.
"Next week. Evidently I get to go up on a big stage as I'm announced and then to seal the ceremony, I drink a cup filled with blood from every pack member, linking me with them." I explained to her. She listened quietly, nodding and smiling.
"Are you nervous?" She wondered.
"I guess a little bit." I lied. I was terrified. What if the pack didn't accept me? What if they thought I was too weak to be their Luna? Nerves flowed through me at the thought of being their Luna. A leader.
"I would be too." She stuffed some more popcorn into her face, crunching it loudly as we focused back on the movie glowing on the Television.

Kai~
My group of men is growing. Coming to Chicago was a brilliant idea. This human city contains more hunters than I thought I would discover. Once I gain enough men, I will kill my brother and be victorious.
I walk down the dim hallway and enter the room containing my newest prisoner. The door is opened for me and I see Russell chained to a chair with heavy silver chains. He looks at me and then rolls his eyes.
"So, how is your stay?" I ask happily.
"What do you want with me?" He groans. "Where is Addison?" He demands as he pulls at the chains, hissing in pain and then his arms go limp. His wrists are bloody red from the burning silver.
"Ah Addison." I pace around his chair. "I do believe she is the female I left to die in that little hallway. Maybe that vampire finished her off so she didn't suffer in her death." I smile evilly at him. He burns in rage, stupidly ripping at the chains again.
He yells in anger in the loss of the girl.
"Awe why so sad? She didn't mean something to you did she?" I ponder this possibility. Maybe I should have kept the girl, used her against him. Too late now.
"Just tell me what you want." He growls, looking me directly in the eyes.
"I want to kill you." I state casually then roll my eyes. "Isn't is obvious? I can't let you live." I lock eye contact with him. I know this is challenging a wolf. He growls at me and keeps the contact. I laugh and look away. "But luckily for you!" I cheer. "I'm going to torture you before you get to die, yay!" I smile gleefully.
I looked on the long metal table lined with pointy tools I get to play with an smile. I play eenie meenie miney mo with the tools until I pick my favorite.
"This looks fun!" I smile picking up a sharp silver knife. Russell shifts in his chair. I see small beads of sweat developing on his brow. I move to him, hovering the knife around his body, moving to where I want to slice.

I picture him as a cake as I slice into him with the knife, drawing oozing red blood. His forearm is now dripping with red liquid as he grunts in pain. I smile in satisfaction. I want to make him suffer for what he did to me and Liam all those years ago.
I run my knife gently over his skin searching for the next spot to slice. The silver leans a burnt line as the knife grazes his skin. This time I go for his stomach. I insert the knife into his abdomen, earning a hiss of pain from him. I run the knife in a line, staining his shirt a deep red.
The door bursts open and I give an annoyed growl at the sight of one of my hunters.
"This better be good" I roll my eyes and pull the knife from Russell.
The hunter looks panicked as he blurts the words from his mouth. "There's an attacker making his way up here. He is very strong."
Puzzlement covers my face. Who would dare challenge me? I walk with the hunter out of the room and to the large window at the end of the hallway. I look down to the bottom floor and see bodies lying in the grass of my house. My hunters. Dead.
Rage consumes me, boiling in the pit of my heart as I look at my dead hunters. I turn to my other hunter and smirk. "My brother has come to visit me." I inform him as I stare out of the window and see Liam slashing the throats of my hunters.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Liam~
Bodies lay at my feet, bloody splatters my shirt as I continue through the crowd on oncoming hunters. I have brought twelve of my best men with me; every one of them are pure blooded and strong. We make our way up the stairs of the building, leaving corpses in our path.
The long hallways are dark with only light coming from the windows at the far ends. We go through the hallways one by one in search of our target. This time I would show no mercy. This time Kai would be dead. He would no longer breathe or walk this planet.
My men and I slip up, they took the long way around the building, killing every hunter in their pathway.
I make my way alone. Slashing the throats of my enemies with ease as I climb the final stairs. I can feel his presence. He is preparing for me.
I walk up the stairs slowly, building suspense. I reach the top and I see my target. Kai casually lounges on a couch twirling a long knife made of silver. The knife already has some blood on the blade.
"Hello brother." I say as I slowly step into the room. Kai stands up from the couch and stalks towards me with an insane grin on his face.
"What brings you to my lovely home?" He asks as he steps closer.
He plays dumb even in these times. I smile at him evilly as we pace around eachother in a small circle.
"I believe you know why I am here."
"Ah yes. You think you can kill me. Is that right?" He laughs as he readies the knife.
Thoughts process slower than our movements ad we both lunge for eacother, fangs extended and knife at the ready. Kai doesn't dare try to use his fangs against me because he knows I am stronger. I shove him to the ground easily, his knife sliding away from him. He scurries to the bloody knife, snatching it from the floor's grasp and stabbing it into my side.
I groan out in painful surprise as rage clouds my vision. All of this silly fighting needs to end. It's time to get serious. I grab him by his leg and fling him across the room. His small body crashes into the brick wall, cracking his bones.
He is back on his feet quickly, stretching out his back and cracking some bones back into place. He then runs at me quickly, shoving me towards the window. I plant my feet firmly and use his momentum against him by flinging his running body crashing through the window. He falls seven floors until he hits the concrete with a whack.
I smile in satisfaction as I make my way slowly down the stairs. As I make my descend, some of my men join me. We travel to the first floor, walking past all of the dead bodies to where Kai hit the ground with a splat. I walk to him slowly. He lays sprawled on the concrete, a small pool of blood is leaking out of his head and his eyes are closed.
I walk all the way up to him and crouch down to his level. "I'm sorry it had to come to this brother. Do believe me when I say that I am sorry." I whisper to the corpse.
Shock covers my features as Kai's brows furrow together and his eyes peel open, taking in the bright sunshine. To my surprise he survived the fall. Nevertheless I must finish him off.
I raise my foot, ready to end him before he has to suffer from bleeding out. He raises both of his hands in shock.
"Wait!" I pause at his hoarse words, giving him the chance to speak. "Why are you trying to hurt me?" He sounds truly terrified. His blue eyes dart all around us fearfully and then they meet with mine again. "W-who are you?" His voice comes out small and weak. My brows furrow together as I stare at the terrified man with utter confusion.
"You don't know who I am?" I ask as I tilt my head to the side. He shakes his blonde head rapidly in a no, the fear oozing out of him as he cowers on the ground. I smile to the world.
I have finally defeated my enemy.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alex-
I look at myself in the mirror, realizing how fast the week has raced by. I have been dressed in a beautiful dress for the ceremony. The dress in crimson red, the color Lunas wear. It is a sign of dominance and control. The dress is long, cascading gracefully down and covering my legs. My hair is pinned neatly in a beautiful delicate updo and topped off with a crown of flowers. I look mature in this dress.
Nerves flutter in my stomach as the minutes count down to the ceremony. I am ready. I have to be.
My room gets a small knock before Tyler enters and stops in his tracks as he sees me. A hot blush appears on my face shading darker than my dress. He smiles at me and extends his arm for me to take.
"You look, amazing." He compliments as I take his arm. He is wearing a nice collored shirt and black pants. He leads me down the hall and to the ceremony.
Everything was planned to perfection, the outside is decorated nicely with a large stage for when I am to be sent up in front of the pack. Tables are set aside near large tables of untouched foods that look amazing. I want to go and eat my nerves away but I know that the food is for the party after. Tyler walks me towards the large stage and the pack members begin to gather. The large crowd of people who will soon be my own. Excitement fills me at the thought of being here.
It feels right in this pack. I don't remember the last time I thought of the vampire Liam. All of my feelings for him seem like nothing but a faint memory to me. All of those feelings that I thought were real. They weren't. This is real. This now.
I take a deep as I walk up the stairs to the stage, Tyler still holding my delicate hand in his. We glide to the top of the stairs and walk across the stage to the middle where there is a podium. Next to the podium is a small table with a large gold goblet on it. The goblet is filled with a deep red liquid; the blood of every single pack member.
Tyler looks out to the crowd and they all fall deadly silent. Everyone looks to me with curious eyes. Some smile up at me because they have already met me and accepted me. Everyone awaits Tyler's speech.
"Today I am here to announce a new member to our pack." His voice booms without a microphone. He is loud enough to be heard by everyone. "I am here to introduce your new Luna." He announces.
Cheers erupt from the crowd, calming my nerves. Maybe they will all accept me. A hopeful smile appears on my face as I return to a normal shade of nude. Tyler continues to boom informational words but they do not process through my mind. Instead my eyes focus on one person I have spotted in the crowd.
Addison. She smiles brightly at me and gives me a small wink. She is so supportive in this time. She has always been there for me. I want to wink back, to wave like an idiot but I don't. I need to appear professional and mature.
My eyes graze over more smiling faces, men , women, children. Everyone seems to be accepting and it warms my heart. My eyes drift to the back of crowd where I see a man in a suit. My eyes glance at his face and I recognize the man I have accepted as my friend. I almost call out in happiness at the sight of my rogue friend. He places a finger to his lips to shush me. I wonder how he got here. Russell stands strongly in the back of the crowd but something tells me that he is in more pain that he is letting on.
My head turns to look back at Tyler. He passionately talks to his pack, his family. He then turns to me, his eyes filled with happiness as he walks closer to me.
"Do you, Alexandra, accept the responsibilities of becoming Luna of this pack?" He asks me as he stares deeply into my eyes.
"I do." I reply confidently.
"To complete the ceremony and for you to join this pack, you must now drink from the cup containing this pack's blood. This will link you to us and allow you to be officially a part of the SilverMoon pack. " He says as he picks up the goblet and hands it to me.
The cold goblet is held in both of my hands as I turn back to the crowd, grazing the faces as I lift the cup to my lips. Screams echo trough the crowd causing everyone to look around fearfully. Everyone takes an alerted stance as they assess the threat.
I'm back, Love. I hear a whisper in my ear sending chills down my spine. No. I know that voice.
The goblet falls to the ground in slow motion, sloshing all over the stage as everyone disperses like ants in fear. Blood covers my dress as shrill are heard. My mind spins as I collapse into darkness.
