《Greta Van Fleet Imagines》So Sweet, So Fine (Danny Wagner)

You had always loved music, Elton John, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac, anything. You would save up what money you could from your job to buy the latest record from whatever band you were obsessing over at the moment. You loved to play them as you cleaned the one-bedroom apartment you occasionally shared with your boyfriend, Danny Wagner.

Danny and you met in high school. The two of you were appointed lab partners in your freshman year biology class. Overall, it didn't work out. Since neither one of you were destined to be science majors. But it did lead to a new friendship and an eventual relationship.

Danny knew how much you loved music and how happy it made you to watch the progression from idea to lyrics, to actual recorded song. He would often come home after hanging out with the guys to find you singing along to whatever album you decided to play that day.

One evening as you were beginning to make dinner for you and Danny, you decided to play a Greta Van Fleet vinyl. You were beginning to get impatient while waiting for the new album and decided to replay some of their older stuff. Today you settled on their EP called Black Smoke Rising. You put the record on the player and put the needle down. Eventually, Jake's guitars filled the tiny apartment.

You smile to yourself as you make your way back to the kitchen, thinking back to when the boys released this EP almost three years ago. They were beyond excited and you were so proud of them. You poured the pasta in the pot of boiling water as you sang along to the music.

"We're stopping at the green light girl because I want to get your signal, no going at the green light girl because I want to be with you now."

You were so invested in your cooking and the music that you didn't hear Danny enter the small kitchen.

"You are my special, you are my special" You continued singing as you stirred the pasta on the stove.

Danny could have easily said something to get your attention, but he enjoyed watching you sing without a care in the world. Especially since it was his band, you were singing.

"You are my midnight, midnight yeah" You swayed your hips along to the music.

Suddenly you felt a pair of hands snake around your waist, startling you a bit a first. You eased into them once you heard the familiar voice.

"So sweet, so fine, so nice, all mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, ooh" Danny picked singing up where you left off.

You turned around, so you were now facing him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you continued swaying your hips to the music.

"We're stopping on the highway girl 'cause I want to burn my gas, there's one girl that I know I'm never gonna pass" You sang back to him with a smirk.

"You are my special, you are my special, you are my midnight, midnight yeah" Danny replied, taking the liberty to change some of the lyrics as he sang. This made the song feel more personal for the moment.

"So sweet." You continued, pushing Danny back against the countertop.

"So fine" He cut in giving you a quick peck on the nose.

"So nice" You continued the song running one hand through Danny's hair.

"All mine, mine, mine, mine, mine, ooh" Danny ran his hands down your sides, stopping right on your hips.

You watched Danny as he sang to you. Eventually Jake's guitar solo started and without thinking you crashed your lips onto Danny's. By the way he pulled at your lip though, you could tell he didn't object.

Finally, you both pulled away from each other trying to catch your breath. "So sweet" Danny sang changing things up a bit.

"So fine" You sang along while continuing to eye Danny.

"So nice" Danny pulled you closer, as if that was humanly possible.

"All mine, mine, mine, mine, mine" You bit your lip as you swayed to the end of the song.

"Sugar." Danny sang as he rested his forehead against yours. Your eyes glanced down to Danny's lips and you couldn't help but kiss him again as the record switched over to the next song.

Eventually, the smell of smoke broke you two apart. Still, with your arms on each other, you both turned to look at the stove. The water had evaporated, and the pasta was burnt against the bottom of the pot. Turning back to face each other, foreheads touching again, Danny laughed before speaking.

"Looks like we're ordering out tonight, mama."
