He backed away as we felt the bus stop.
"We should.. um.." He said with a smirk, motioning towards the door. I nodded, lifting the bass over my head. He quickly reached over, grabbing it from me.
"Thanks." I said softly, watching as his arms flexed while he effortlessly carried it over, gently placing it back into its case. He then flashed me a smile before making his way out the door, back towards the main area of the bus. He lingered near his bunk for a moment, I'm assuming so Jake wouldn't be able to tell where he was coming from.
Not like he would've noticed anyway.
I pushed myself up off the bed, going out to see that Jake and Danny had already made their way off the bus. Josh lingered back with Sam who peeked back at me, motioning towards the door. I gave him a small smile as I grabbed my camera bag, closely following him out, Josh following right behind, shutting the door behind us.
"Where'd they run of to?" I asked, looking around. I saw there were a few fans already lined up out in front of the venue.
"It's freezing out here." I said, peeking up at Sam. "You guys should go talk to them." He smirked down at me, nodding.
"Yeah, you're right." He said, waving and flashing them a smile, making his way over to them.
"You miss this?" Josh asked, coming up behind me. I shrugged.
"Seeing you guys with them? Yes. But me? No." I laughed, taking my camera out of my bag, snapping a few photos of Sam as he talked with them.
"You know.. as far as they know.. we're.. still together." He said softly, leaning in close. My cheeks burned.
"Oh yeah.." I sighed, keeping my eyes down. He playfully bumped me, shoving his hands into his pockets.
"It's okay." He said. "You can hang back if you want. I'll deal with them." He giggled to himself, making his way over to the fans. After snapping a few more photos, I went into the venue where I saw Jake and Danny already on stage sound checking.
I stayed out of sight, snapping a few photos as Jake played. I couldn't help but smile as he lost himself in the music. It didn't matter if he was playing for one person or a thousand people.. it was always magical to witness.
It was just one of the many reasons I fell in love with him.
I looked over as I heard voices from the wings. My heart started beating faster as Kyle and Charlotte made their way out onto the stage, Charlotte with her own guitar slung behind her back.
"Sounds amazing." She said, going over to Jake. He shrugged, flashing her a smile.

"Just a little warm up. Nothing crazy."
"How modest, that's your warm up." She giggled, standing close. I felt my cheeks burn. Jake kept his eyes down on his guitar, tuning it a little more.
"You guys all ready?" Danny said, looking over at Kyle.
"Oh yeah, our setup isn't nearly as demanding as you guys." He laughed. Jake peeked up, giving Kyle a gentle smile as he subtly moved away from Charlotte. She moved closer, pulling up a chair from the wings.
"So, I'm starving." Charlotte said, looking back up at Jake, her eyes in a daze. "You wanna go get something to eat? The guys ate on the bus already, but I figured maybe you could show me around." I could feel my face getting hot, my jaw clenching.
"Oh, um.." Jake stared, peeking over at Danny, who was now facing the other way, talking to Kyle. He bit down on his lip, holding his guitar closer.
"Y-yeah, sure, um.. I can ask everyone what they're up to, and we could all-"
"If they want, or you and I could just go, guitarists gotta stick together, right?" She laughed, reaching out, gently touching his arm. My stomach dropped.
He gently pulled away.
"Y-yeah but.. I.. I think everyone was talking about getting something to eat so.. I.. I can see what they're doing. The more the merrier, right?" He said, turning back to Danny. Danny looked over, giving him a quick thumbs up. Charlotte held her stare on Jake, getting up from her chair.
"Okay, great." She said, forcing a smile. "But maybe later.. you and I can just talk, you can give me some tips, we've only done one other tour before this so, any advice you have would mean a lot." He bit down on his lip, nodding, looking back down at his guitar.
"Y-yeah, maybe, we'll see how much time we have before the show." He said plainly. She nodded, scooting her chair even closer.
"Um.. Danny, you.. you wanna come with me to find everyone? Then we can go grab something to eat." Jake called out, lifting his guitar over his head and placing it back on the stand. Danny nodded, getting up from behind his drums, making his way over.
"I'll come with you!" Charlotte called out, now starting to follow Jake. My heart started beating faster, my cheeks burning in anger.
"Oh, no, it's okay, you guys check quick, we're all done." He said, moving away from her again. "We'll be back when we get everyone ready to go."
I went back over to the doors, waiting for them to get close enough to see me. Jake flashed me a smile, reaching out, wrapping his arm around me.
"Hey, how long have you been standing there?" He asked cheerfully.

"Not long." I said, reaching up and pulling him into a kiss. I felt him smile.
"What's that for?" He said softly. I shrugged, staring back with dazed eyes. He pulled me in to another quick kiss.
"Well, I like it. You hungry? We're all going to get something to eat." I bit down on my lip, peeking over at the stage where Charlotte and Kyle had begun to sound check. Charlotte looked over, her eyes locking with mine. I felt my chest get tight.
"We all?" I asked. He shrugged.
"I was gonna see what Sam and Josh were doing, and then us of course, and then.. whatever they want to do." He said, motioning over towards the stage. I bit down on my lip, nodding.
"Yeah, sure." I said, sliding my hand into his, intertwining our fingers.
"Great." He said, squeezing my hand tighter as he lead us back outside. I pulled him in closer as we were hit with the cold hair, tightly wrapping my arm around his. By now, more fans had shown up, and Joe had met up with Sam and Josh as they made their way to the end of the line. The fans perked up once they noticed Jake and Danny, doing their best to wave them down.
"We'll be out later!" Danny called out to them, waving back. "We promise!" They all smiled from ear to ear, waving back excitedly. I would never get used to people reacting like that over them, but.. I could understand why.
"Sam, you wanna run back in and let them know we're ready to head out?" Jake asked. Sam nodded, quickly making his way inside. It wasn't long before Kyle and Charlotte met us back out in the parking lot. She turned to me, giving me a forced smile.
"Oh, good, you're able to make it too!" I felt my cheeks burn as I tightened my grip on Jake's arm.
"Of course." I said, flashing her a smile. She held her stare on Jake for a minute before eventually turning away, catching up with Kyle and Joe as we made our way down the sidewalk. I looked up at Jake, hoping for.. something, but it was no use. He kept his eyes forward, his grip on my hand getting looser as we walked.
I knew I was overthinking things, but I couldn't help it. I didn't understand what was happening. I missed when he was overly affectionate; when he wanted to show me off to everyone and anyone. What I would give to go back to the time when all he wanted was to make sure everyone knew we were together. I wouldn't hesitate to hold his hand in front of anyone now.
As we reached the restaurant, Jake reached out and grabbed the door. My smile grew as I started to walk in, but he walked in before me, nonchalantly holding it open for me behind him, keeping his eyes ahead. I stopped, staring back up at him. He finally turned back, staring at me confused. Then, I don't know what came over me, but I felt tears start to come to my eyes. I quickly blinked them away. He didn't seem to notice.
Finally, Sam reached out, pushing the door open for me, giving me a subtle smile. His face then dropped as his eyes met mine.
"Are you okay?" He mouthed to me. I bit down on my lip, nodding, looking down. By now, Jake had let the door go, making his way inside. I peeked up at him, watching as he made his way in with everyone else. I felt more tears come to my eyes, but quickly wiped them away. Sam looked inside, and then back to me as he reached out, gently placing his hand on the small of my back, guiding me out of the doorway.
"Are you sure?" He said softly, holding his stare on me. I peeked back up at him, biting down on my lip and finally shaking my head as more tears filled my eyes. He sighed, his face dropping.
"I don't know what's wrong." I managed, wiping my face again. "I don't understand why he's being like this."
"Neither do I." He said, reaching out, gently touching my hand.
"It's like.. I'm invisible. And.. I.. I don't understand-" I stopped, looking down again. I hated saying these things to him, especially after the other night; especially now knowing how he feels.
"I.. I don't think he wants to marry me anymore." I finally said, avoiding Sam's eyes. "I can feel him pulling away, and.. she's not helping. He hasn't mentioned it once since the party. I.. I don't know what I did." I heard him sigh, tilting my chin back up to face him.
"Well.. if he's gonna be like this.. then he's an idiot." He laughed. "Doesn't he know there are other guys waiting? He's holding up the line." I couldn't help but laugh, wiping my face again.
"Sam.." I giggled. His smile grew as he motioned back towards the door.
"Come on.." He sighed. "Let's head in, it'll be okay." I bit down on my lip, nodding, smiling back at him.
"Thank you." I said softly, reaching out for the door, but he beat me to it, holding it open for me. I smirked back at him as I made my way in.
When I reached the table, my heart sunk as I saw Charlotte slide into the booth next to Jake.

The Kiss of Two Moons
The last year is upon us. The world is ending, but you already knew that; everyone does. Spring has come, and the flowers have bloomed here in this small town with no name. Thousands of different colours now paint the field that had been coloured by frost alone just yesterday. The townsfolk have gathered by the field to celebrate the beginning of the last spring with so many smiling faces. Tears too. I can’t help but wonder whether the flowers will bloom again before the sky falls upon us. Others must be thinking the same. There are moments when the smiles fade and their eyes glaze over as they realize just how near to the end we are. They forget it again in moments. They make themselves forget. The children aren’t like that, though. They don’t seem to understand, or they’ve come to accept it in a way that their parents just can’t manage to. This one boy actually asked me why I was sad. I had to wonder whether he was actually aware that the world is ending, but it seemed wrong to mention it. I ended up just telling him that I was waiting for someone, and he scampered off, wearing a silly smile. I can’t help but feel jealous of him. The beginning of next spring; the day that the world ends. It seems so far away, yet so close. Wherever you are now, I have to ask, how are you spending your last spring? Did you get to see the flowers bloom? Did you smile? Did you cry?

The Insemination
"You where going to do what?" he shouts causing me to jump a bit. I look at his face and see anger on it. "I said I was thinking about it. I changed my mind," I rush to say. "I'm sorry." As he runs a hand through his hair he picks up the glass vase and throws it against the wall. Rushing past him, I hurry to the door. Once my hand is on the silver doorknob I pull it open only to have it closed. Turning around I meet his gaze. His normal blue eyes are now black with a hint of gold. "I think I should go," I say barely as a whisper. "Mine," he growls. "Yes, I know it's yours but-," I say but he cuts me off again. "Mine," he growls again. Before I have the chance to ask him what he meant, he hovers over my body, and before I have the chance to move, I feel sharp teeth penetrate my skin. Kicking and screaming, I try to move out of his grasp. Yelping out in pain, he finally takes his teeth out, and looks at me with his blue eyes. He looks at me in horror. "What did you do to me?"
