"You should go pick up coffee for everyone." I said as I finished covering up his neck. "It'll explain why you were out of the house." He sighed, smirking back up at me.

"Can't we just tell them? You really think they're not gonna notice this?" He asked. I shook my head, smiling back.

"Don't worry, I was able to cover it. Who knew you were so sensitive." I giggled, sitting back down on the bed. He shook his head, his cheeks burning.

"I'm not sensitive.." He said, scrunching up his face.

"You are, but it's fine." I said, quickly kissing him on the lips. "Now go." He stared back at me with a subtle smile before finally getting up and getting dressed.

"Fine." He sighed. "I'll see you in a little bit. You get ready and head inside." I nodded, smiling back up at him. Before he left, he stopped in the doorway, staring back at me.

"What?" I asked, feeling my cheeks burn.

"Nothing.." He sighed, holding his stare on me. He made his way back over, quickly kissing me on the lips.

"I love you." He said softly. "I'll be right back."

"I love you, too."

I went into the bathroom to clean myself up and quickly got dressed before he got home. As I made my way out of the bus, I saw Sam smoking out front. I couldn't help but smile. At least I wouldn't have to go inside alone, and risk running into Josh just yet.

"Hey!" I called out, flashing him a smile. "Merry Christmas." He turned to face me, taking a drag, blowing his smoke the other way.

"Merry Christmas." He said, forcing a smile.

"W-what's wrong?" I asked, feeling my cheeks burn. He shook his head.

"Nothing." He sighed, shrugging.

"Doesn't seem like nothing." I said, playfully shoving him. He finally smirked, looking back over at me.

"It's nothing, really.." He sighed, giving me a gentle smile. "So.. how was your night?"

"It was.. good." I said, biting down on my lip, feeling my cheeks burn. I saw his face drop a little as he took another drag.

"I bet..." He said, his voice trailing off.

"What?" I asked. He shook his head.

"Nothing. Um.. Mom made breakfast, if you want any.."

"Oh, okay.. thanks. I'll.. I'll see you inside then?" He nodded, biting down on his lip.

What was up with him?

I hesitated before making my way up their front steps and going inside, where I was hit with the overwhelming smell of pancakes, eggs, bacon..

I wandered into the kitchen where their Mom was still cooking, despite the full spread already laid out on the counter.

"Do you need any help?" I asked. She turned to me, flashing me a smile.

"Oh, no, thank you, honey. Merry Christmas! Please, grab a plate, help yourself."

"Thank you." I said, going over.

"Josh and Ronnie are in the other room, but I haven't seen Jake yet. He's probably still sleeping." She laughed.

"Oh, he.. he ran out to get coffee for everyone." I said, feeling my cheeks burn.

"Oh, well, that's nice.. but we could've just made some, he didn't have to do that."

"Yeah, well.." I shrugged. "He.. he insisted. You know how he gets." She smiled turning back to the stove.

I took my time making my plate, hoping Sam would come back inside so I wouldn't have to go back there alone. But no such luck.

As soon as I walked back I saw Josh's head pop up. He glared at me as he grabbed his plate, making his way back into the kitchen. Ronnie watched him the entire way, finally waving me over with a small smile.

"Hey.." I said softly, sitting down across from her.

"So.. Josh told me everything." She said, staring back at me. I nodded, avoiding her eyes.

"But.. did the night at least.. end well?" She asked, her smile growing. I bit down on my lip, doing my best to contain my smile.

"Mhm.." I said simply. She stared back at me wide-eyed. I peeked up at her, feeling my cheeks burn.

"Good." She said softly, continuing to eat.

"So.. what happened?" She asked, smirking back at me. I felt my heart start to beat faster, my smile growing.

"Oh.. gross." She laughed. "You know what, never mind, I don't wanna know." I peeked back up at her, giggling to myself.

"So are.. are you two together now?" She finally asked. I bit down on my lip, staring back at her, wide-eyed.

"We-"

"I'm home!" Jake called out from the front room. "Coffees on me! Merry Christmas!" Ronnie smirked at me, shaking her head.

"Oh, don't you worry, we're gonna talk later." She said quietly, getting up and making her way into the kitchen. I sighed, following her in.

"Here you go." Jake said, handing Ronnie one of the cups.

"Thanks, Jake." She said, taking a sip. "But.. you know we could've just made coffee."

"Yeah, but these are better. It's Christmas. Just enjoy it." He laughed. His eyes then moved over to me, his cheeks burning red.

"Here you go." He said softly, handing me a cup. His fingers lingered on my hand for a moment as I took it. I couldn't help but smile, my heart beating faster. He smirked back, then finally turned away to hand out the rest of them.

I looked down at my cup to see a tiny heart drawn on the side. I took a big sip and smiled, peeking back over at him. Made just how I liked it. He quickly looked over, smirking back at me.

"Where's Josh?" Jake asked, looking around.

"He.. he was just here." Ronnie said, now sitting down at the counter. He shrugged, placing the last coffee down on the counter.

"Well, this one's his." He said simply.

"Wow, well what's got you in such a good mood?" His mom asked, leaning up against the counter. "I don't think I've ever seen you smile this much." His cheeks burned red as his smile grew.

"What do you mean?" He laughed, doing his best to contain it. "It's.. it's Christmas, why wouldn't I be in a good mood?"

"Yeah, I'm sure that's why." Ronnie mumbled, smirking over at him. He quickly shot her a wide-eyed look, his cheeks getting red. He peeked over at me, and I quickly shook my head, looking away.

Then I heard the front door open, where Sam walked back in with his coffee in hand.

"So, can we open gifts now?" He laughed, heading towards the living room. Their mom rolled her eyes, smiling over at him.

"Of course, come on." She said, following Sam. Josh finally emerged from his bedroom, shooting Jake a look before heading back too. Ronnie hung back for a minute, smirking at me, and motioning to Jake before following the rest of them.

"I think they bought it." Jake said, leaning in close, whispering into my ear. My heart started beating faster as he moved in, kissing my neck.

"Hey.." I whispered, gently pushing him away. He giggled to himself, grabbing onto my shirt, pulling me back in.

"They're not here." He said, pulling me into a kiss. My heart jumped, and I kissed him back before moving away again, smirking up at him.

"Stop it.." I laughed. He flashed me a toothy smile, gently touching my cheek before backing away, making his way into the living room.

It was nice to be a fly on the wall to their Christmas morning. One by one they opened their presents from each other, rolling their eyes and laughing. I had never really experienced a "big Christmas morning" like this. It was really just me and my Dad, exchanging what few gifts we were able to find for each other just a few nights before. I would have to call him later.

"Thanks, Ron." Jake said, holding up a new sweater.

"Try it on, I wasn't sure what size to get you, so if it's too big we can exchange it." I bit down on my lip, staring at him wide-eyed as he pulled his shirt over his head, slipping on his new sweater. He got up, spinning around.

"Oh, yeah it fits great, thanks." He said, flashing her a smile. Then I saw her eyes get wide as they shot down to his neck.

"What happened there?" She laughed, pointing up at him. He stared back her, confused.

"What do you mean?" He asked, going over to the mirror. I saw his face quickly drop, but he tried his best not to let it show.

"O-oh.. I.. I probably just.. just swung my guitar around the wrong way the other night.. it's nothing.. I'm fine." He said, his cheeks turning bright red.

"Yeah, that's not what it looks like." Ronnie laughed, peeking over at me. My whole body felt like it was on fire. I kept my eyes forward, avoiding her stare.

"W-what does it look like?" He said softly.

"It looks like someone had a busy night." She laughed.

"Jacob!" Their mom yelled. "Is that a hickey??"

"Oh my god, Mom! No!" He yelled, covering his face. I felt like I could melt into the couch out of embarrassment.

Then I saw Sam get up from the couch, storming off into the kitchen.

I felt like I had been punched in the gut. It was bad enough I had to see them last night, and now they were just gonna try and act like nothing was going on? It wasn't long before Ronnie came in, staring back at me with sad eyes.

"Sam.." She said softly, making her way over. I sighed, leaning back against the counter.

"What.." I said, keeping my eyes down.

"What happened last night?" She asked. I glared back up at her.

"What happened? What happened is I walked in on them making out in the living room.." She nodded, looking away.

"Yeah, I.. I figured they were gonna get back together."

"You knew??" I snapped. "You knew and you just let me go and make an idiot out of myself?"

"Sam, I didn't know, but.." She sighed, coming over to me. "I mean, I didn't know for sure but.. I mean, we all kinda know, right?"

"What do you mean?" I asked. She bit down on her lip, staring back up at me.

"She loves him, Sam. No matter what happens, they.. they will always find their way back to each other. And.. she didn't say anything but.. last night-" I shook my head, looking away.

"I don't wanna hear about what they did last night. I think we all saw what happened last night." She sighed, nodding.

"I'm just saying.. I know you think you like her but-"

"I do like her." I finally admitted, feeling my heart race. She stopped, staring back at me, wide-eyed. "I do like her. I don't know how it happened but.. I do. And I know it's stupid, because I know she loves him. And I know she will always pick him, but-"

"But what, Sam? You're just gonna get hurt. I'm sorry but.. I think you just need to accept that.. you're friends. And.. maybe that just.. has to be enough for you."

I knew she was right. But.. I just needed to know for sure.
