I quickly followed Jake as he stormed out of the studio, completely ignoring the fans still waiting outside. I felt guilty as I saw their faces drop in disappointment as he hopped back onto the bus, slamming the door behind him. I felt their eyes shoot over to me, still somewhat hopeful, but I knew I wasn't the one they wanted to see. And I knew there was no way I was going to be able to make him come back out to see them, not like this.

"Jake.." I said, following him on. I could see him laying on the bed in the back room, facing the wall.

"Jake?" I said, coming in and sitting down on the corner of the bed. He didn't turn around.

"What." He snapped. I reached out to touch his arm, but he quickly pulled it away.

"I just think we should t-"

"I don't want to talk about it." He said plainly. "I could only imagine how much worse it's actually going to be." My stomach dropped. He was right. I'm sure that was nothing compared to how the rest of the video was going to look.

"And worst of all.." He yelled, now sitting up to face me. "Josh didn't even deny it. So now as far as everyone's concerned, you two are together." My cheeks burned.

"Jake, I just.. I don't want to go back to that. We're finally in a good place, I don't want this to ruin it.. please." I said, feeling my heart start to beat faster. He shrugged, flipping over.

"Well, what did you say to him?" He asked. "When he told you he loved you?" I bit down on my lip, hesitating. I wasn't completely sure what I had said, but I was sure that the video would show all of it.

"Jake, I'm not sure, it.. it was for the video, I just-" He sat back up, glaring at me.

"Really, Jess? After everything you expect me to believe you didn't mean any of it?"

"Maybe some of it, but then everything happened with us and.. what you said.. that changed everything for me. I just.. I want to be with you. Can we please just forget-"

"I'm not gonna be able to forget if it's constantly going to be shoved in my face like this." He snapped, glaring back at me. I felt tears start to come to my eyes. He sighed, looking away.

"Can I just be alone?" He said softly. I nodded, getting up, and going back into the main area of the bus.

I looked outside to see that Danny, Sam, and Josh had come out of the studio, and were talking with the fans out front. At least they stopped to talk to them. When they came in, Josh shot me a look, biting down on his lip. Jake wasted no time, storming back out once he heard the door open.

"What the hell was that?" He yelled, going after Josh. Danny quickly jumped in, grabbing him and pulling him back. I could tell he's had to do this before.

"What was what?" Josh snapped. I saw Sam move in close, ready to intervene. "I didn't tell them anything." Jake's face got angrier as he swung, Danny quickly pulled him out of reach.

"You didn't deny anything either! That's just as bad! I know this is what you wanted the whole time, so congrats, you got it!" He said, finally pulling away from Danny. My heart started beating faster.

"I don't have anything!" Josh yelled, getting closer to Jake. Sam moved in, ready to grab him. "She loves you. Who cares what everyone thinks about us? Everyone can think whatever they want, but at the end of the day, she loves you! Sorry you had to see that, but it doesn't matter! Cause after everything, she still only wanted you!" Jake shook his head, going back into the bedroom, slamming the door behind him.

"Cancel the last interview!" Jake called out. "I'm not doing it."

"We'll do it without you then." Josh snapped. "We're not canceling anything just because you're throwing a fit."

"Josh.." I said softly. He turned to me, shooting me a look, his cheeks burning red.

"We're not canceling." He said simply, sitting down at the table. "He can pull himself together for one more interview."

I looked over at Sam who's face dropped as he stared back at me. He sighed, sitting down next to Josh.

"We've.. we've done two already.. what else can they really ask us? We can just tell them.. we can't make it." Sam said. "We can't do it without him, Josh." Josh rolled his eyes, looking back out the window.

"Fine. If you want to cancel, then you call them, cause I'm not canceling."

"Fine." Sam sighed, peeking over at me. I nodded, giving him a subtle smile.

"Thank you." I mouthed.

Later that night, we parked out in front of the venue for tomorrow night's show. After skipping out on the last interview, we were ahead of schedule now, probably for the first time in their lives.

"So.. the label just emailed us." Sam said. I quickly picked up my head, looking over at him. He nodded. "Do we.. want to watch now?" He asked, peeking at Josh. He sighed, crossing his arms, sitting back in the booth.

"We should just get it over with." Danny sighed. "That way we can move past it." Sam nodded.

"Alright." He said. "I'll hook it up to the tv."

It was then I heard the back door open again, Jake now leaning in the doorway. My stomach dropped. Sam turned around to face him.

"You're gonna watch?" He asked. Jake sighed, shrugging.

"Might as well." He said softly. "How much worse can it get?" I felt my heart started to race as Sam finished connecting his phone to the tv. He had no idea.

"Alright.." He said, pressing play.

It started with a shot of the guys, out in the field all with their instruments, slowly zooming in on Josh singing.

Babe, ain't no denyin'

That I've got you in my head

Girl, I'd be flyin'

If you stood yourself and said..

It then panned over to Jake. My cheeks burned. He looked.. so beautiful. I peeked back at him, still standing in the doorway, but he kept his eyes locked on the screen, his jaw clenched. And then it faded to me and Josh, hand in hand walking through the field.

Babe, you're so young and pretty

But you're evil, you oughta know

Darling, ain't that a pity

Won't you stand yourself and show..

The video faded to our faces inches from each other, the sun blaring, making his eyes glow. It looked.. different from what I remembered. But he was still so beautiful. My cheeks burned as I peeked over at him. He looked over, giving me another subtle smile. I quickly looked back at the screen.

"You're beautiful." I sighed. He flashed me a toothy smile, his cheeks getting redder.

"So are you." He whispered, reaching over putting his hand on my waist, gently pulling me towards him. My heart was racing. I couldn't bring myself to look at Jake. I could only imagine how he was feeling right now. Why did he have to come back out to watch?

It cut back to the whole band, showing Sam, then slowly panning over to Danny. Any time I wasn't on camera, it felt like a weight was lifted off of my shoulders, but I knew it was only a matter of time...

You're the one I want

You're the one I need

You're the one I had

So come on back to me

Then there I was again, inches from Josh's face. He stared back at me with dazed eyes and a subtle smile. He reached up, gently holding my face in his hands, pulling me in closer, and in that moment, I was finally able to see what everyone else saw. My heart was racing. The whole thing looked... so magical.

We really did look like we were in love.

And then my stomach dropped.

"I feel a lot when I'm with you... we would be perfect for each other... I feel it... I love you." I said, then pulling Josh into a passionate kiss.

They had edited it together. That wasn't at all how it happened. I quickly looked over at Josh, who stared back at me wide-eyed. He knew what had happened too. I turned to Jake, who shook his head, going back into the bedroom, slamming the door behind him. I felt tears come to my eyes again.

"Jake, wait!" I yelled, going after him. He didn't answer, and the door was locked.

"Jake, please." I said. Still silence. Sam turned off the video, looking over at me.

"Well..." He finally said. "You guys coulda fooled me." I wiped my eyes, storming off the bus. I couldn't be around any of them right now. I felt like I was going to be sick. This video was going to ruin everything, just when things were finally going well. I knew I never should have done it.

It wasn't long before I saw Sam walk out, looking around. I sighed, leaning back against the bus.

"Well.." He started, lighting a cigarette. I felt tears come to my eyes again.

"That's not what happened." I managed, keeping my eyes down. "That's.. that's not what I said. They edited it. He.. he's hates me. This is going to ruin everything." I said, wiping my eyes.

"I'm not gonna lie.. it does look pretty bad." He said, taking a drag. "And by bad I mean.."

"I know what you mean." I sighed.

"But.. if that was acting, you may want to consider a career change." He giggled to himself. "Because that was one of the most convincing things I've ever seen." I couldn't help but laugh, wiping my eyes again.

"But you know.. everyone is gonna think you and Josh are together now. And.. it really doesn't help that he didn't deny it." He said softly. I nodded.

"I know." I said, looking back over at him. He held his stare on me, and eventually moved closer, pulling me into a hug.

"I love Jake.." I mumbled, my face now hidden in his chest.

"But?" He said, peeking down at me.

"No but." I sighed. "I just want to be with him." Sam nodded, gently rubbing my back.

"Just let him calm down. I'm sure it'll be okay." He said.

But I didn't believe it. He had never completely shut me out like this before. This time felt different.

I backed away, wiping my face again.

"Thanks, Sam." I said softly. He nodded, taking another drag and then dropped his cigarette, stomping it into the concrete.

"Are you guys still going out tonight?" I asked. He shrugged.

"If they're all still up to it." He said, smiling back at me.

"Jake said he wanted to stay in tonight but.. I don't see him wanting to be alone with me anymore."

"Maybe a night out is what he needs. It could be good for him. He's so uptight." Sam laughed.

Then the bus door opened again, and out walked Josh and Danny, with Jake slowly trailing behind them. Jake shot me a look, and looked over at Sam.

"We're all going out." He said. "You coming?" I bit down on my lip, unsure if that included me. Sam could tell.

"All of us?" He asked. Jake's cheeks burned.

"Whoever wants to come, I guess." He sighed, avoiding my eyes. I hated him like this.

Sam peeked over at me, motioning towards them. I hesitated for a moment, but eventually nodded, following Sam towards the van.
