"I'm sorry." Jake sighed, leading us back onto the bus. "I never should've gotten you involved in any of this."

"I'm the one who decided to help. I can't blame you." I laughed, leaning my head on his shoulder.

"Yeah, but.. I just should've known." He went over, plopping down on the couch. I sat down close next to him.

"Okay, so you guys have two more of those left to do today?" I asked, looking over at Sam. I knew it was no use trying to talk to Josh. Sam laughed, nodding, as he sat back down with Danny at the table.

"Yeah, usually they go.. a little better that that." He said, shooting Jake a look.

"I didn't mean to, I just.. I don't know." Jake sighed, wrapping his arm around me.

"Well, it's only gonna get worse from here." Sam said, looking down at his phone. "But apparently they're gonna send us the video before it gets posted so.. at least we'll have a small heads up of what we're dealing with."

"Not like we could change anything." Josh chimed in, coming back over from his bunk. He sat down next to Danny at the table, leaning back in his seat.

"I suggest making your account private now." Sam said, turning to me. My cheeks burned.

What did they think was going to happen?

"Private?" I asked, turning to Jake. He shrugged.

"You'd be surprised." He said softly. "If they want to know who you are, they're gonna find you. And then who knows." I felt my heart start to beat faster, looking over at Josh, who was already looking at me. He quickly turned away, his cheeks getting red.

"Well, I mean.. I don't mind if they know who I am." I said, looking back up at Jake. "They.. already know we're together, right? They know who I am. I.. I was a little freaked out in the beginning but.. I'm okay. I've gotten used to the idea." He smirked back at me.

"Yeah, you say that now.." Sam said, his voice trailing off.

"Did they say when they're gonna send it over?" Josh asked. Sam shook his head, keeping his eyes locked on his phone.

"No, they just said before it went live."

"Do you think we should just.. tell everyone? Before it goes live?" Danny said. "That way.. we can control the narrative, at least."

"And what do we say?" Josh chimed in. "The best girl for the job was Jake's girlfriend. We couldn't find anyone else who would be better for me." My cheeks burned.

"Well.. it's true." Danny mumbled, shrugging. Josh shot him a look, his face turning red.

"Whatever." He sighed, looking back out the window.

"I'm just saying.. if we get ahead of it, maybe we can control some of it." Danny said, looking back over at Sam. Sam shrugged.

"It's not an awful idea." He peeked over at Jake.

"We just can't let Jake do the talking." He laughed. I looked up to see Jake's face drop, his cheeks burn.

He then got up, taking my hand and lead me towards the back room. I didn't question it until we were alone.

"Are you okay?" I asked. He nodded, sitting down on the bed.

"Yeah, I just had enough of.. that." He said, looking away. I sat down on the bed, leaning back against the pillows.

"Do you want to practice for your next interview?" I laughed. He turned to me, smirking.

"Well, if they're not even gonna let me talk.." He said, giggling to himself. He crawled over next to me, maneuvering himself under my arm. I couldn't help but smile, pulling him closer.

"You know, as far as we're concerned.. this video doesn't have to exist. We don't have to watch." I said, gently running my fingers through his hair. I felt him nod.

"I think that would be best." He said quietly. "I just.." He sighed, sitting back up to face me.

"I feel like.. things are finally.. good with us. Just us. And.. seeing that video is just going to make me.. it's going to take me back and I don't want to think like that anymore."

I leaned in, gently kissing him. He didn't hesitate to reach over, holding my face in his hand, pulling me in closer. I couldn't help but smile. He was right. Things finally felt right, just him and I.

"I don't want you to think like that anymore either. That's the past now, and we don't have to revisit that ever again." He smiled, nodding, gently rubbing my cheek with his thumb.

"Thank you." He said softly, leaning in, kissing me again.

"Anything for you." I said. His smile grew.

"Don't say it if you don't mean it." He giggled, pulling me back in.

Then there was a knock at the door.

"We're here!" Sam called out. Jake sighed, leaning his forehead against mine.

"Here we go again." He said, smirking at me.

"You'll be fine." I laughed, getting up from the bed.

"Jess, can.. we just be alone tonight? I.. really don't want to be around anyone.. else, with everything that'll be going on. I know they're gonna want to go out and celebrate but-"

I leaned in, pulling him into another kiss.

"We can stay here together. It's fine." I said, reaching for his hand. He smirked up at me as he took it, intertwining our fingers. Before we went outside, he stopped, turning to me.

"You know, with everything that's going on, should we.. should we draw more attention to us? I don't mind it, I'm just-"

"It's okay." I said, giving him a subtle smile, holding on tighter to his hand. His smile grew as he lead us out where we were met with a few fans waiting outside of the radio station.

"Oh my god, Jake!"

"Jake! Hi!"

"Jake, can we get a picture, please?"

I felt my cheeks burn as Jake squeezed my hand tighter.

"Hey guys!" He said, waving over to them. "I promise we'll be out after the interview, okay?"

They all smiled, waving back at him. I could hear their excited voices up until we went inside. The rest of the guys were already in the studio. I hung back as Jake went in, sitting down next to them.

"Alright, now that we've got all of you. Hello to everyone just tuning in. Today we've got Greta Van Fleet with us, here to talk about their new music video coming out tonight."

"Sorry about that.." Jake laughed. Sam shoved him playfully.

"This guy is always late. We're lucky we get anywhere."

"Well, you're busy guys, I'm sure it gets difficult. I know we're your second stop of the day, so thanks for making the time for us." He laughed. Josh nodded, leaning in.

"Of course!"

"So what can you guys tell us about this video? How is it different from everything you've done so far?"

"Well, it's definitely our classic sound, that's for sure. We feel we're finally in a place where we know where we stand musically, and we're happy to finally be coming into our own. Fans will definitely hear it and be able to say, hey, I know these guys. So we're excited about having our own established sound." Sam said.

"And I think visually.." Josh chimed in. "We've added new elements we've never really played with before in a music video, but I think the fans will appreciate it."

"Well, the label just happened to send us a clip of the video to play for you guys for the first time, and all of you at home can check out our social media to see the snippet."

My stomach dropped. I saw the guys start to shift in their chairs. Sam held his smile, while Jake quickly turned, shooting me a look. Danny looked to me, and then back to Sam, where Josh held his view on the screen, his eyes wide. This was not at all how we expected to see anything for the first time. My heart started beating faster. What parts were they even going to show? Maybe I was getting worked up for nothing, maybe they wouldn't play anything with Josh and I just yet. I looked back over to Jake, who now had his arms crossed, one hand over his face. I hated that he was now being forced to see it, in front of everyone no less, so he'd have to do his best to save face.

And then, just what I feared, the first thing to pop up on the screen was a slow motion clip of me and Josh, walking through the field, hand in hand. My heart was racing.

See, where we've been

Won't you hold my hand and stay a while?

As badly as I didn't want to see, I just couldn't look away. It all looked.. so real. I couldn't believe this is what everyone else was going to see, and this wasn't even the half of it. All the emotions from that day came rushing back. I looked over at Josh, who was already looking at me. My cheeks burned red as he gave me a subtle smile, turning back around. I looked over at Jake, who's eyes, almost glaring, were glued to the screen. And just when I thought it couldn't get any worse...

"You can call me crazy, cause.. maybe I am, I don't know. But... I do love you."

My heart sunk. They kept the audio.

Josh and I quickly looked at each other. What else had they kept? What else were they going to use? If Jake heard anything from that shoot.. everything would be ruined. I knew he was already fed up, and he wanted to put all of this behind him, just like I did.

But I don't think this is something he could ever overlook.

Then the video cut to a wider shot of Josh and I with me reaching up, holding his face in my hands, and faded to black right before I pulled him into a kiss. I couldn't believe this was happening. It looked that much worse that I was the one who initiated the kiss. I kept my eyes locked on the screen, unable to bring myself to even look in Jake's direction.

"Alright! How about that! You heard it here first, the debut of Greta Van Fleet's video for You're the One. And you even brought the romantic interest here with you today!" He said, turning to Josh. I saw Jake lean back in his chair, now glaring, his cheeks burning red.

This was unbearable.

"There's no denying the amazing chemistry there. So it's safe to say that the song won her over then?" He laughed. Josh forced a smile, crossing his arms and nodding.

"Jess was great, she.. she's been on the road with us for the entire tour, and she really understood the meaning behind the song.. and I think it really shows."

"But it's safe to say that you two are obviously together now. There's no denying, at least from what we saw.."

"We.. we don't really like to talk about our personal lives." Josh said, his cheeks getting redder. I then saw Jake flash him a look, his face getting angrier.

"Alright, no need, I'm sure we'll all see everything we need to later. So be sure to tune in tonight at 8pm for the full video!"

"And.. we're off the air." I heard someone call out. And without hesitation, Jake tossed his headphones and stormed out of the studio.
