They lead 3-10 at the break, but four goals in six minutes makes it 7-0 soon after. It looks like that would be the end of the goals, but the US just kept on pushing forward. Morgan grabbed her hat trick and ended up scoring five in total as she also picked up the player of the match. Mewis, Lavelle and Pugh bagged braces while O'Neil grabbed her first goal but had 10 out the 13 assists for the goals scored this evening. All I'm all, it was the biggest World Cup victory ever."

"I think the US can leave today feeling very happy with themselves, they took the chances given and penalised Thailand for it. I am very excited to see how the raining champions fair for the rest of the tournament"

As the final whistle blows, I can help the huge smile that covers my face, I turn around in hopes to find the certain player I'm looking for and see her running towards me a smile on her face too.

"We did it!" She shouts jumping into my arms and I catch her.

"you did it Lex! Five goals, like what have you been eating" I say joking with her as I place her back in the ground

"Okay miss 'let me get all the assists'!" She says laughing herself.

"I can't believe that just happened, did we seriously just win 13-0" I say suddenly reflecting on what we've just done as a team.

"you know we did!" Mal says running up to us and jumping on my back, I grab into her legs and hold her up

"Mally! You're an absolute machine, you know that right!" I say to the younger teenager

"It wasn't just me! We killed it on that field today" She says clinging onto my neck tighter. I just run around the field with Mal on my back smiling as she laughs her little head off.

We shake hands with the Thailand players the whole time Mal refusing to leave my back which I don't mind since she doesn't weigh that much anyway. After we've shaken hands we hand all head down the tunnel and into our changing rooms while some of the players go off to do interviews, Alex being one of them.

Somehow Jill managed to get me out of media duty which I'm grateful for but I know I'll have to do it the next game so I haven't totally escaped the wrath of the media, but that's in five days so, for now, I'm going to celebrate the win with my team.

"Thanks for the lift," Mal says as I drop her down by her locker

"you're very welcome Mal," I say giving the youngster a quick kiss in the head out of habit, she reminds me of one of the girls I used to look after in the foster home.

"yo! Shut up for a second, the interviews are on!" Allie shouts as we all turn to focus on the TV screen on the wall.

"Congratulations on the win ladies you've just broken the all-time World Cup record for the most goals scored in a match, how does that feel?" One person asks

"You know it feels great, we came out here to win and that's exactly what we did, we took the chances we were given and we're clinical in that final third," Becky says answering the journalist

"I think the main question on everyone's mind is the new player Toni O'Neil, who is she?" Some guys asks

"wow, literally the second question in" I say making a few girls in the locker room chuckle

"Toni is a very special person off and on the pitch, she really helps us become a stronger team especially with the recent injuries that have gone on and it's clear from today how good of a player she is" Alex answers making me smile.

"Olex" Kelley says coughing making me just slap her on the back of the head

"has the team atmosphere not changed since she's such a new person to introduce this late in the squad," Another person asks even though Alex has basically already answered that question

"Like Alex said she's become an important part of this team, we were all a little more nervous than usual coming into this tournament but she has helped us gain our confidence back and shown us we're not only here to win but to enjoy ourselves too," Becky says making the girls aww while I smile at the other captain.

"How can you trust a player that has no experience in professional soccer?" one dick of a guy asks

"I swear they ask the dumbest of questions" Christen mumbles next to me.

"well you clearly weren't watching the game because that person on the pitch was definitely a professional in my eyes," Alex says making a few of the journalist in the room laugh while we all clap for her sassy reply

"She's one of the most concentrated players I've ever met, you throw a problem at her and she'll have a solution straight away. I know for a fact that by the end of this world cup I'll be taking a leaf out of her book when it comes to my style of play" Beckys says firmly to the journalist

"Wow that's a compliment and a half from the broom herself," Sonnett says making a few hum in agreement.

"Toni O'Neil had a rough past, going through multiple foster homes and even having damage of property charges on her Juvenile recorded, how can she be trusted as a person on this team?" One journalist says and my heart instantly drops at that comment.

I can feel everyone's eyes on me in the room and I just lower my head in shame, not wanting the team to look at me any differently.

I feel someone put a hand to my back and I look up to see Christen giving me a sympathetic smile.

"Firstly you shouldn't know about that because her record got wiped when she turned 18 and secondly, none of you know the reason behind it, Toni is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, she may look like a big baddy with her muscles and tattoos but she's the sweetest person ever, she will make sure everyone is okay before checking on herself, always being polite to everyone no matter how they treat her, looking after the whole team whether they think they need it or not. So before you go assuming what a person is like based on the limited information you somehow managed to get about there past, you should try and get to know the person first" Alex says quite angry to the reporter

"I think we're done here, thank you," Becky says as she leads Alex of the stage

I can't handle being in this room with everyone so I run off out the door and down the empty corridor to the first quiet room I can find.

I slump down again the wall and put my head into my hands hating the fact the team know about all that. No one should have found that out, those files were sealed when I turned 18.

Now the whole team are going to think I'm some thug who has anger issues and parental problems, I knew that me being an orphan would be found out because that's no secret, I'm not ashamed of having no parents but I am of that property damage charge.

My head shoots up when I hear the door open and a person come barging in.

"Oh thank God you're here" Alex says coming over to me.

"I'm sorry if what I said was too far, that reporter really annoyed me how he just exposed your secrets like that" Alex says rambling on

"you did everything right Alex, I'm just annoyed that he found out about that, those records are meant to be sealed you know," I say turning to look at her

"none of the team thinks of you any differently T, they were just a little surprised that's all," She says trying to explain why the room was deadly silent

"that's not who I am Lex, I'm not an aggressive person, I did what I had to do at that moment in time" I say almost trying to convince her that I'm not like that

"you don't have to prove anything to me, Toni, I know who you are now and that's all I care about. Now let's go back in there and explain to everyone so they can understand your reasoning because I know for sure that you wouldn't have done that without a reason" Alex says giving me a small smile

We walk back to the locker room and Alex takes my hand in hers which helps me call down a little, once the doors open everyone's heads turn my way and a take a deep breath.

"erm I guess I should explain a few things really" I say nervously, Alex squeezes my hand pushing me to tell the girls

"I grew up in the foster system my whole life and got chucked around a lot of families, one time when I was 15, I was staying with a couple who had taken in another 3 children already, they were all younger than me and had been there for quite some time. I think it was my first week there when one of the younger boys smashed a plate and the father got incredible mad, he started hitting the boy, again and again, I try to stop him but I was just shoved to the side. I thought this kid was going to die so I had to do something and fast, I spotted a baseball bat in the corner of the room so I grabbed it and ran outside to his car. I just swing that bat at the car until the horn started going off and the guy eventually came out, he punched me in the face and called the cops. They arrested me and he's said he was defending himself, I had to spend 2 months in juvie after that because no one would believe my case" I say finishing explaining the reason behind my record.

I keep my head down low not wanting to look at anyone in the face and see the disappointment in their eyes. All of a sudden I feel someone wrap their arms around my body and put their head into my chest, I open my eyes and see it's Mal who's clinging to my body.

I wrap my arms around her and hug onto the youngster a little tighter happy she's not scared of me. After a couple of seconds, I feel more arms wrap around me and soon the whole team have joined in on the big group hug.

"I think I speak for everyone here when I say that what you did was incredibly brave and selfless, no one should have to go through that in their life and the fact you were punished because of it just makes it worse. We still see you as Toni O'Neill, the girl who likes to dance and sing to Taylor Swift and the girls who got 10 assists in one game." Kelley says as everyone nods their heads in agreement

"wow squirrel, something serious actually came out your mouth for once," I say making everyone bursts into laughter

"and she's back!" Allie shouts making everyone cheer loudly.

Everyone soon goes back to their own thing while I start getting undressed finally leaving my skin on though

"I told you it would all be okay like I said on the bus, we've all got your back, no matter what," Alex says flashing me that smile of hers again.
