Everyone was very delighted that exam week just finished, which meant that another term will begin afterwards. But before we proceed to the second term, let's not forget about the 'event' that the student council prepared for us. As far as I can remember, they've been preparing and planning a fieldtrip for everyone in our university, which will take place before the second term starts. I could tell that everyone was thriller and very thankful towards the student council for this 'activity' that they prepared for us.
I really appreciate that everyone in the student council really put a lot of effort in this fieldtrip that they prepared for us. Planning everything, searching for places that we could probably visit, and lastly making a proposal for our principal to approve this prepared proposal of theirs, given that our principal is a bit picky when accepting proposals, plus he's a busy man.
So here I am, holding two full baskets of food in each hand as I tried to follow after my twin sister who was roaming around the grocery store. She made her way to the chips aisle and started looking for our favorite chips. When she finally found it, without hesitation she grabbed two bag of chips and tossed it in the basket I was currently holding.
, she grabbed my wrist and dragged me to the counter to pay for our food.
We stated placing our food on the counter, I tapped my food on the tiled floor as i watched the cashier scan out stuff. I noticed Yeji tapping her back pocket, she seemed to be looking for something. I flicked my gaze to look at her and furrowed my eyebrows.
, I asked my twin sister.
She scratched the back of her head before looking up to meet my gaze, , she gestured at our snacks.

I raised my eyebrow at her and crossed my arms over my chest, , I mocked her and she just giggled at me.
, she defended with wide eyes.
She reached for my arm and began shaking it, from the corner of my eye I saw her looking at me with 'puppy eyes'. But I pretended that I didn't saw her, literally refusing to meet her gaze.
The cashier finally finished scanning our stuff, , she whined, still not letting go of my arm.
, I sighed in defeat and reached out for my wallet. She grinned from ear to ear before patting my head, which made me playfully roll my eyes at her.
, she gently brushed my hair out of my forehead.
I try to pry off her hands off me,, I told her.
, she agreed and chuckled. I picked up the two large paper bags before we walked out of the grocery store.
The next day, we made sure to arrive early because I've heard that there would be a 'call time' or like 'grace period' before we ride our assigned bus. We woke up before the sun could even rise, quickly doing our morning routine and leaving the apartment. We pushed our way past the crowdy students, but Yeji already managed to spot her fellow students. And just like that, she left me in the crowd and already went ahead to go with them.
Later on, i was able to spot my peers, more specifically Heejin since she stood out from the crowd. Without wasting any more second, I made my way to join them. Yiren was the first one that noticed me, she sent me a curt nod and i gave her a small smile.
Moments later, Kim Seungmin, the vice president of our class stepped forward while trying to get everyone's attention. , he announced.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and tried to listen to the announcement despite the chaotic noise from the other students around us. When Seungmin already made sure that everyone's attention where on him, he gestured Yiren to speak.
", she looked down on the piece of paper on her hand and began reading the names.
Everyone then began being paired up but my name hasn't been called out yet, and neither did Heejin's name. I tried my best not to be assuming, however I couldn't help but anticipate that we might be paired up for today.
My name that had been called snapped me out of my lost of thought, , Seungmin repeated, tiptoeing to look for me. A few heads turned to look at me, I raised up my hand to state my presence. I gulped as I watched the two of them glance at the paper, , he declared.
Slowly and quietly letting out a sigh, trying my best not to sound too disappointed that i was paired up with her. I mean, I don't mind to be paired up with her but maybe i was being too hopeful. I raised up my head to meet Yiren's gaze and we both exchanged a nod.
I shot a quick glance Heejin who stood a few meters away from me, she looked a bit worried and I noticed that she was fidgeting her fingers. I slightly tilted my head to the side, anticipating who would be her partner since I believe that everyone's name has been called already.
, Seungmin raised his head to look for Heejin. The mentioned girl raised up her hand before he glanced back at the paper. I watched how his eyebrows furrowed before looking at the president of the class.
She cleared out her throat at him before looking at Heejin,, she trailed off.
, Heejin asked
Yiren pressed his lips into a thin line, glancing once last time at the papers before a boy came running towards us., he spoke which caught everyone's attention.
, Yiren stated. She turned to look at the boy who just arrived, , she added.
I raised my eyebrow at the sudden announcement, I watched how the boy made his way next to the latter's side and they began talking. I gently bit my lower lip as I watched the two interact on one another. My gaze broke on the two when they announced further instructions. I collected myself and tried to push the disappointed feeling. It seems like I was so lost in my own thought, that I didn't even noticed that Yiren was literally standing in front of me.
, she joked and flashed me a smile.
I averted my gaze from the two of them when I felt Yiren clinging on my arm and gently dragging me to our designated bus. I let her drag me, letting everyone went ahead and enter the bus first.
When we finally came inside the bus, the bus was already packed and full. Yiren took the window seat while I sat on the aisle seat, I spotted the latter sitting a few seats ahead of me. I stood up and placed my travel bag on the overhead bins. I offered to place Yiren's stuff on the overhead bins, in which she politely agreed and handed me her bag.
I sat back down and leaned back on my seat, shortly the bus engine started which made me gulped. I took a deep breath and shifted on my seat once again, trying to look one last time and the latter and the 'Renjun' boy before we hit the road.

ICOMO ODYSSEY
Jonathan Vélo never expected to be famous. Not for riding his bike all the way around the continent of Icomo. Every adult knows his story, and children learn about him at school. This, however, is the first and only biography written about that great man with foreigners in mind. We, his biographers, imagine they will be immensely grateful. Of course, readers will find the people of Icomo an unusual sort for glorifying a young man who did nothing more than quit his job and ride his bike from town to town, city to city… But in an age of robots and computers, when little escapes the notice of the historian, there is a quiet epic to be told. It is the epic of cozy nights in a tent below the stars, of warm wind and ocean waves. It is also the epic of missing old friends in faraway places, and that feeling of needing to make life mean something. *** ‘ICOMO ODYSSEY’ is a nostalgic slice-of-life adventure about a utopian sci-fi land. No clever villains or epic fights here. Just cozy pleasures, charming towns and villages, interesting cultures, and the people who live in them… This story will update bi-weekly on Friday and Saturday. https://www.scribblehub.com/series/467210/icomo-odyssey/

The Kodoku Game
In Japanese folklore, there once existed an ancient technique among alchemists for harvesting the strongest poison known to man. A poison so vicious, so horrendous, that a single drop could incapacitate an entire nation of humans, several times over. A poison so intense that a single drop could turn the tides of a war on its head. As potent as it appeared however, this poison could be harvested from the blood of a single insect alone- an insect the alchemist’s called the ‘Kodoku’. As lucrative as was attaining this poison however, the problem lied in identifying this insect- its appearance, shape and size changed from region to region and from continent to continent. Sometimes it took the appearance of a ladybug and other times a horned-beetle. In order to determine the identity of this special insect the alchemists came up with an ingenious method. They created an impregnable jar of clay out of the best sandstone they could find and placed hundreds of different insects into the same jar. The jar was made with such great mastery that it allowed no insects to escape and allowed no objects to enter. The laws of nature dictated that the insects would remain together in the jar forever. However, it turned out that as time went on, the insects’ hunger for food and power caused them to turn against each other- one insect ate another until only one remained. This sole insect contained a poison that far surpassed that of all the others and became stronger as it ate more and more insects. The alchemists at this point had succeeded in identifying the Kodoku and could extract it’s poison as long as they continued to feed it regularly. Although this folklore ends here, the actual story does not. One day, as the alchemists cheered in joy of having identified the Kodoku they so eagerly wanted, they forgot to close the lid on the very jar that was considered to be completely impregnable. This small gap was just large enough for the Kodoku inside to crawl out. Famished from not having been fed for weeks, the Kodoku ended up eating the very alchemists that nourished its growth until not even the bones remained. Yet, the Kodoku’s hunger didn’t seem to subside in the slightest. So it traveled to the next village and began eating whatever it could find there. Its poison made it unparalleled in strength and slowly but surely it began to dwindle down the population of the entire city. Yet its hunger only continued to grow. So it traveled to the next city over and ate all it could there. Very soon, the Kodoku couldn’t find any more food to eat. There was no one left to eat and no one left to spectate. So it stood there, by itself pondering what possibly was left to eat that could satiate its hunger. But there was one thing left that Kodoku realized it had never eaten. Itself.
