I'm sorry to hear how this situation has played out. Crushes are hard as it is, but feeling like you've lost a friend on top of that is no fun at all. My suggestion to you is to send him a message explaining that you did not mean to make him uncomfortable and that you're sorry if that's what happened. You can explain the situation from your perspective if you'd like as well. Tell him that you want to maintain your friendship without the issue of your crush on him affecting it if that is something he's comfortable with, and then, after you hit send, give him space. Don't message him again until you get a response, and from there let him establish and communicate his boundaries with you. When you're gaming with the group, try not to engage with him one-on-one, but with the group as a whole or with other people individually. Make him feel like you're not giving him extra attention. That doesn't mean ignoring him but giving him the time and space to initiate contact when he feels comfortable.

My biggest piece of advice is to give him time and space. Let him determine whether he is comfortable rekindling your friendship, and if he decides that he is, then you can go from there in laying out new boundaries of friendship.
