Deciding what university could be a big decision for some and a small one for others. But what matters more than what university you go to is what major you want to choose or what you want to do in life. I would suggest deciding on a major you want to do first and then looking around for the university to choose from.

After you have decided what major you want to choose, you can ask your teachers at high school, parents, siblings, seniors, or friends, and even the internet what universities are the best for your chosen subject. Some universities specialize in a specific department, so it differs. I would suggest going for one that is overall reputable and acknowledged.

Some people try to consider factors such as how close the university is to my home, whether it has dorms, do I have friends at the university and other such things. These things are secondary if you put your self-interest first. If it's a good, affordable university that is well-acknowledged and has the basic facilities you need (dorm, clubs, cafeteria, etc.) then it would be worth considering. However, you need to realize you will make new friends in university anyhow and not ever high school friends remain close after graduation. However, it would be nice if the university is near the city or around your house, so you can meet them easily.

In conclusion, please discuss with your teachers and family and I am sure you can figure out what things you want to prioritize more than others.
