When it comes to matters about something someone said about someone else, or in this case about B claiming A said stuff about you, it is always complicated because you will never know who is telling the truth. The best thing that I think you could do in this situation is to not really take any sides.

It is undeniable that your friend has changed when compared to when you first knew them but it doesn't mean that they could do that to you. In situations where it is hard to determine who is the correct one, I would usually give them the benefit of doubt. It's innocent until proven guilty because we would not want to punish someone for something that they did not do.

However, if you ever find yourself uncomfortable to keep being friends with your friend, it is okay to slowly distance yourself with them. You don't have to completely break your relationship. I'm not that old yet so it's not like I have tons of experience but there are friends that I slowly drifted apart from because they've changed. I still talk to them from time to time if there's any need but apart from that, I would not go out of my way to seek them.

About your fight with your brother, the easiest method would be to seek help from either of your parents to keep your brother in line because parents are indeed the one with the highest authority in a family. You can ask your parents to create some rules or guidelines about fights because it's been getting physical and you're bothered by it.

Another thing that you can do that might help is to try your best to deescalate the tension between you and your brother when you feel like a fight is going to break. However, this method would require you to have a lot of patience as he might try to provoke you more.
