This person is really missing their childhood best friend.

Hey!

I understand exactly how it feels to panic at the mention of a name as I’ve gone through the same experience. I can assure you that it gets better, even if it takes a while. To start off, try getting used to hearing the name. Grace is both a common word and a common name. Try watching movies or shows who have a character called Grace. Read a book about a character named Grace! Don’t try to associate the word with her or think about it too much. Keep exposing yourself to it and you’ll build up a tolerance.

Aside from that, I honestly don’t think you have to worry about them forgetting you. A lot of people remember their close childhood friends, even if they don’t remain in contact. If you are able and willing, you can try searching for her. Maybe you can find her through old friends, your parents, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Becoming friends with her again would likely help you with the panic you get. Don’t expect her to stay the same, of course, since you were only kids back then.

You can get over it, sweetheart. If you put your mind to it and keep trying, you can do anything. You have people who care about you by your side right now, so don’t dwell on someone who isn’t in your life right now. Focus on the present and those with you right now. I wish you luck!

Thank you,
