The Fractals took everything from them, Alek and Alena were left orphaned from the tragedy that befell their home village. Horrifyingly beautiful monsters possessing crystals that shine a brilliant amber, with alluring patterns that dance across the skin as though it were alive. It was these same Fractals that Alena swore to protect Alek from, a promise she would keep even should it cost her life. Knowing that they were the only family they have left, she couldn't bear the loss of those close to her following the death of their parents. Yet when Alena falls victim to an unfortunate accident, Alek takes the stand to measure up to his sister's role. After all she has done for him and having raised him on her own, he would be the one to take care of her. No matter the cost, he would find a way to cure her, even if it meant giving up his humanity. ***** NOTICE ***** I'm currently putting this story on hold For all my reader, thanks so much for any comments or just readin in general. But when I was writing his I noticed that my two main characters were starting to act and talk similar in the chapters I haven't posted so I've been taking a break to stop that. Sadly it kept happening and so I've decided to place the story on hold and work on other ones for the time being. ********************************************** Growing up as a fox with the common sense of a human can be hard sometimes, but Aria is determined make it through life. Meeting various people along the way and eventually finding one that will stick with her through thick and thin. I'm just putting this up so I can see what other's think of my storytelling ability, plus the obvious spelling and grammar. Iron and Wood - A Tale Of Empire and Clans
For centuries, the Midlands had been split into fragments. A once glorious, united Empire has become a shadow of its former self. Unity has not returned, and not for the lack of trying. The greatest of these successor states were the Li Dynasty to the south, the rulers of old, and the Emerald Empire to the North, with its vibrant vitality. Unity is the end goal, and both will sacrifice anything to attain this elusive dream. For unity would surely solve the conflict that had long plagued this once prosperous continent. The Ironwood Clan was a prime player. Some would consider them the ones holding the reigns to the horse named 'Unification'. Iron and wood were the backbones of civilization; similarly, the Ironwoods were the backbones of the Northern Empire, and by extension, the people of the Midlands. Their methods, as questionable as they might be, had strengthened the North. Yet, were they enough? In the midst of it all, a young Ironwood who had lost his path must once again find his way. For the sake of his own wellbeing; for the sake of his clan; and for the sake of the Empire and its subjects. However, is he willing to sacrifice for the good of all?
