Sorta longy again for not updating in a month D: And Happy Fourth of July! :D

---

I walked out of school, still a little embarrassed from what happened earlier. Deidara- my boyfriend- walked besides me. I sighed.

"Huh?" I heard Deidara say, and all of a sudden he stopped walking. I turned to him.

"What is it?" I asked, watching as he rummaged around in his backpack for something.

"My phone is missing," he said. I raised an eyebrow. "Um, I'll be right back, I'm going to go check if it's in the classroom. Um, you can continue walking." I shook my head.

"Nope, I'm waiting here for you." Deidara glared at me. I crossed my arms stubbornly. He sighed.

"I guess. I'll be quick," he said.

When he left, I walked back to the building wall and leaned against it, waiting. After a few minutes, the schoolyard emptied out and I was the last one left, when all of a sudden I heard a voice.

"Tobi!" Someone called. I turned towards the voice, and Sakura was standing there.

"Hey, Sakura!" I said cheerfully. She looked a little annoyed but she nodded.

"H-Hi..." she said, her voice trailing off.

"What's wrong?" I asked her. She averted her gaze and stopped in front of me.

"I- I wanted to talk to you."

"I'm listening," I replied. She nodded.

"W-Well, I just wanted to know why you rejected me the other day," she said. I looked at her.

"Did I?" I asked. She frowned.

"Yeah, you did. I confessed to you, and you totally just brushed me off." I stayed silent for a few seconds.

"Didn't I give you my reasons?" I asked. She shook her head.

"Yes. But I don't understand. So tell me again. I'll even confess again. Tobi, I like you. I really like you." After a few seconds I sighed in my real voice. Her eyes widened.

"I see. Well then, I'll tell you again. You like me, but you don't know the real me," I said, folding my hands over my chest. Sakura's eyes were still wide, but she spoke anyways.

"B-But if I get to know the 'real' you, I'm sure I'd like that person, too," she responded. I shook my head and walked towards her, causing her to walk back as well.

"I'm sure you wouldn't," I told her, and by the school door I heard another voice.

"Actually, I'm sure she would. After all, someone did fall in love with the real you," Deidara said. I turned to him. "But even if she did fall for the real you, you already belong to that someone... Right?" he asked, sounding a little uncertain. I chuckled.

"Wait, so you have a girlfriend?" she asked, looking less than pleased. I shook my head.

"No, I-"

"So, you don't have a girlfriend?" she asked. I frowned.

"Huh?"

"If you don't have a girlfriend, then why did you reject me?" she asked.

"Look, Sakura, there are many reasons. First of all, there is already someone who is-"

"Deidara said that someone fell in love with you? Does that person know the 'real' you?"

"Actually-"

"I don't think so. If anyone knew you were someone completely different, they'd regard you as fake. I mean, you have a totally different voice. What are you hiding under your mask?" she asked. My eyes widened. "Another secret?" And then, with no warning Sakura was right in front of me, and she lifted up my mask. I gasped, and she stared at me wide-eyed.

"W-Wait..."

"Handsome, isn't he?" Deidara asked. I looked away. Sakura continued staring at me before she turned to Deidara.

"And how do you know so much about him?" she asked. I turned to him.

"Yes, Deidara. How?" Deidara laughed and walked towards me. He stood next to me and looked at Sakura. He took hold of my gloved hand, our fingers lacing together.

"Well-"

"Wait, what's going on?!" she asked, surprised. I sighed.

"Sakura, I don't have a girlfriend. I have a boyfriend." She stared at us for a few seconds.

"Y-You're kidding... right?" she asked.

"Afraid not," Deidara said, grasping my hand tighter. Sakura completely ignored him and looked at me again.

"So then, you don't like me back? You don't think anything of me? You don't like me the least bit?" she asked.

"Sakura, you're like a cute little sister. Sorry, but that's it..." I looked at Sakura, who was looking at the floor, her hair covering her face.

"Did my... Did my confession at least make you a little bit happy? Even the teeniest bit?" she asked hopelessly. I chuckled and stepped forward, placing a hand on her shoulder. She lifted her head and looked at me.

"It did make me happy. Thank you for liking someone like me." Sakura sighed and looked down again. She laughed sadly.

"Shot down by another one, huh?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Another one?" I asked, confused. She nodded and looked up at me, her eyes closed and her lips smiling, but her eyebrows were knitted together.

"I confessed to Naruto the day before I confessed to you..." I looked at her in surprise.

"Huh? Naruto?" I asked. She nodded sheepishly. I laughed. "It doesn't seem like you're interested in him, though..." Sakura nodded.

"Yeah, but I am. I told him that he was very special to me, and I wanted to go a step further with him... Stupid Naruto had no clue what I was talking about. He just smiled and nodded like an idiot." I laughed.

"He's dense. Maybe he misunderstood. Try again," I told her. She shook her head.

"If he didn't get the message, it means he wasn't interested."

"Sakura, Naruto wouldn't know a confession if it slapped him in the face," Deidara said. I looked at him, amused. "Like Tobi said, tell him straight out." Sakura scowled for a few seconds.

"Deidara's right." I said. She sighed and nodded.

"Okay. I'll try again," she said. Then she turned around and walked away. I pulled down my mask and looked at Deidara.

"I'm surprised you spoke up," I said, turning towards the gate and beginning to walk. Deidara shrugged.

"Well, it's like she only confessed to you to try and get someone's attention," he said. I nodded.

"You're right. But, are you sure you didn't step in for something else?" I teased. His eyes widened and his cheeks turned bright red.

"Sh-shut up!" he said. I looked at him with amazement.

"I was right?! Hell yeah! So the big Deidara actually gets jealous, huh... I'll have to remember that!" I said. He shook his head.

"Stop! I- I wasn't jealous!" he yelled. I laughed loudly.

"Wow! That's the most truthful thing I have ever heard, Deidara."

"Whatever!"

----

The next Saturday I woke up to something vibrated in my bed. ;^)

It turned out to be my phone (who sleeps with their phone in their bed?? 0:) which was ringing. I picked it up and answered. Who would be calling me at 9 am on a Saturday??

"Hello?" I said into the phone.

"It's Deidara. Do you want to come over?" ;^) he asked. My eyes widened and I sat up.

"Why?" I asked. He scoffed.

"You need a reason to come over? Ok. I'm just really bored."

"You want to use me for entertainment??" ;^) I asked. He laughed. "Okay, I'll go. I'll be there in an hour."

"Ok. You remember the way, right?" He asked.

"Yep."

"Great. Don't be an idiot and get lost," he said, so lovingly, and then hung up. I stood up from the bed.

-

When I got to his house I knocked on the front door lightly. His house was really big, I could spot it miles away so thankfully I didn't get lost.

After a few seconds the door opened and a little boy was there, staring at me.

"Who are you?" he asked. I froze.

"U-Um... I'm here to see Deidara?"

"Oh. Ok." he said. He turned away and closed the door.

I stared at the closed door, surprised. What just happened? About five minutes passed and the door didn't open again.

I decided to knock again, but then I heard yelling and hysterical laughter from inside, and I retreated my hand. The door flew open to reveal Deidara.

"You little brat," Deidara called out, and the boy continued laughing. Deidara turned to me, looking embarrassed.

"Sorry. About that." I looked at him, a confused smile on my face.

"O....kay?" I asked.

"He does that sometimes. Sorry."

"Who does what?"

"My brother. He just closes the door. Sorry." I looked at him and began laughing.

"Your family is so weird." He nodded and looked at me, letting me in. He closed the door behind us and turned to me.

"Take off your mask, and your gloves," he said. I looked at him.

"Huh? Why?" I asked, taking off my mask and gloves as ordered.

"Because if my father is going to meet you he'd like to meet you," he replied.

"Oh, okay," I said. He took them from me and put them on a very convenient nearby table.

"Very convenient table," I said.

"Actually, today is the first time I see your hands, isn't it?" he asked, ignoring me.

"I guess. My hands aren't really that special, though..."

"Yes they are," he said. I frowned.

"That seems very out of character, Deidara."

"Not really. Let me see them," he said. I looked at him and frowned.

Deidara's P.O.V

I grabbed his hands and lifted them up so I could see them. The first thing that struck me was how soft and smooth they were! I stared at him.

"It's impossible for anything to be this soft..." I said, my voice trailing off. As soon as I said that I blushed and Tobi smirked.

"Oh? Really? But my hands are nothing compared to your lips," he teased. I blushed bright red and he snickered.

"Stop," I said. I looked down at his hands again. They were big, and his fingers were long and slender.

"Deidara," Tobi said. I looked up.

"What is it?"

"Are you thinking that my fingers are long?" he asked. I blushed.

"Y-Yeah..." He smirked.

"Really? You're so easy to read. But my fingers are nothing compared to your-"

"I'm going to stop you right there, Tobi," I said, blushing deeply. What was he even going to say?! I had an idea, but that would make no sense. We haven't gone that far.

He laughed.

"You're so cute," he said, and all of a sudden his soft hands reached over and caressed my cheek, and he leaned towards me, his lips meeting mine. I blushed and closed my eyes as he kissed me gently. After a few seconds I felt his tongue brush against my bottom lip. I gulped and opened my mouth slightly. Tobi took full advantage and his tongue entered my mouth. He placed his hand behind me hand, deepening the kiss. And then I heard foot steps.

"Am I interrupting something?"

Tobi's P.O.V

I jumped and immediately pulled away from Deidara. His eyes were wide and his face was red. I looked at the person who spoke. Blonde hair and brown eyes, and he looked to be maybe in his mid thirties.

I looked at Deidara, who was still blushing and staring at the floor.

"Ahem... Well... Tobi... This is my father..." (AWKWARD)

I looked at the man, who was staring at me. I blushed and bowed my head slightly.

"Um, it's nice to meet you... Mister..." my voice trailed off and the man laughed. My eyes widened.

"Don't worry about it, call me Kuso. It's nice to finally meet you, Tobi. Deidara has told me a lot about you," he said, reaching out his hand. I took it and shook it firmly. Deidara sighed in relief, and looked at his dad nervously.

"Um, I thought I'd invite him over so you could meet him. Are you leaving for work?" he asked, walking into the kitchen and filling up a cup with water from a container.

"I am. Sorry, but Tobi can stay for as much time as he wants," he replied, looking at me and smiling. I smiled back awkwardly. Deidara walked back to us and handed me the cup. I took it gratefully and took a drink. Kuso leaned towards me.

"Make sure to not do anything too loud. The walls are paper thin and the whole world will hear you," he whispered in my ear. I choked on the water that I was swallowing and spit it out. He laughed and slapped me in the back. "I'll be going now," he said, and he walked out of the door.

"What did he say?" Deidara asked. My face turned bright red as I continued coughing.

"Nothing." Deidara stared at me questioningly. "Um, is there anything you'd like to do today?"

"Nothing in particular. We can just hang out, I guess."

"Cool," I said, and nodded my head, taking another drink of water and following Deidara into the kitchen, closing the door behind me. But before we could do anything else, I heard the front door shut loudly. I glanced at Deidara. Did Kuso forget something? I heard loud footsteps coming towards us, and Deidara walked over to me. He was frowning, and all of a sudden he grabbed my arm. I looked at him, confused, and then the door to the kitchen slammed open. I looked at the door, and there stood Deidara's mom. My eyes widened as she suddenly marched over to Deidara and slapped him. My eyes widened as his head turned from the impact, and he hid himself behind me. I looked at the woman.

"What are you doing?!" I asked, and she just stared at Deidara. I felt small cries behind me. I looked at the woman again. "What do you think you're doing?" I asked again. She finally looked back at me.

"Why are you in my house?" she asked. I frowned.

"Deidara invited me," I told her. She furrowed her eyebrows.

"You have no right to be in my house." Then she turned to Deidara.

"Deidara, I told you. You're just curious. You're not serious. So just break up with him before you break his heart. And tell him to leave my house before I call the police," she said. I felt Deidara's shoulders shaking behind me. I looked back at the woman.

"Excuse me, I don't think you have any 'right' to talk to your son that way. He is a human being, and I'm not sure if you're aware that he has feelings, just like you. You might be upset about him turning out like this, but he's much more upset that you're not accepting him for who he is," I told her. I felt Deidara look up at me. "I love your son, so I'm not going to let him leave me, no matter what you tell him, because I know he feels the same way about me. So please refrain from telling another person who to be and how to leave their life," I spat out.

"Like you said, he is my son, and I can take him far from here, leaving you behind," she replied curtly. I sighed.

"Maybe you're not sure, but he has his father. Unlike you, he accepts Deidara, so he can definitely fight for custody, or Deidara can even get emancipated. And if you were to take him, don't test me, because I would follow Deidara wherever he went."

She looked at me for a few seconds, obviously furious. Then she took the water container and dumped it on us. I gasped.

"What the hell?!" She said nothing else before storming out of the house. I turned to Deidara, wrapping my arms around his shoulders. He leaned against me, breathing heavily.

"Are you okay?" I asked gently. He paused before nodding his head slowly. "Let's go to your room, you should probably shower. You'll catch a cold like that," I said. He nodded and sniffed, then lead me up a flight of stairs and to a door.

"Is this your room?" I asked. He nodded.

"Yeah." He opened the door and walked in, I followed after him. I looked around.

His room was pretty tidy, and really big. The wall across the door was painted light gray with a white stripe at the top. There was a tall drawer thing that probably held his clothes, and next to it was a neat double bed with gray covers. Next to the bed was a window that took up the rest of the wall, and across the bed there was a living room area thing, with a red couch and a flat screen TV on the wall. There was another door near the entrance, which was either a closet or a bathroom. There was another drawer, instead a longer than tall. And in the corner of the room there was a table with clay models scattered around here and there. I walked towards the table and picked up what looked like a bird.

"So this is your so called art?" I asked. He glared at me.

"It's not 'so called', it's real art! But, it's incomplete. It's not explosive clay," he said. I looked at him.

"Weirdo," I said, and sat down on his bed. Deidara sat down next to me, and we sat there in silence. He looked at me.

"Sooooo....." he said awkwardly. I sighed. "Um... Thank you for saying all of that to my mother. Thank you for protecting me," he whispered. I smiled lightly.

Deidara's P.O.V

"Maybe you should shower. I'll wait in here," he said quietly. I shook my head.

"It's okay," I said. He glared at me.

"Go shower. You're going to catch a cold," he said.

"You are too!"

"I'll shower after you."

-

I ended up worrying about Tobi catching a cold so I took a quick shower. After I finished I entered the room again with my fresh clothes.

"Um, Tobi, you can use the bath...room...now?" I say, looking over at Tobi.

"Oh!" he exclaimed, turning to me. I entered the room to find Tobi there with his shirt off. Which would be perfectly normal were it not for the headband gracing his head: it featured two pom-poms bouncing around on feelers. (If you don't know what that is just imagine like a bee Halloween costume and the little antenna things, basically like that but in this the pom-poms are pink and furry :P)

"Um... what're you doing?" I asked.

"I took off my shirt, since it was wet, so..."

"No, that's not what I meant. I'm talking about that headband."

"Oh, this?" Tobi looked away, apparently embarrassed. Each movement of Tobi's head sends the pom-poms bouncing.

"Pfft..."

"Are you laughing at me?" he asked

"Can you blame me? Look at you!" I exclaimed, breaking out into full laughter. He studies himself in the mirror.

"Touche." he said, looking back at me. "But I think it suits me pretty well."

"Wow, and you say it with such a straight face." I walk up to him, wanting to squeeze the pom-poms, but Tobi glides out of reach with incredible speed.

"No!" he exclaimed.

"Huh?" I asked, confused.

"These pom-poms are as precious as life itself! It's forbidden for someone ordinary like you to touch them," he said. I frowned.

"Okay, what's with this weird act you're putting on?" I asked. This is honestly one of the weirdest situations I have ever been in.

Undaunted by my hesitation, Tobi doesn't break character. I guess I should go along with this, right? I laughed.

"Don't you know... the forbidden fruit is the most tempting?" I ask. Then I smirk. "En garde!"

"Pfft... 'En garde'? What kind of thing to say is that in this situation?"

"Said by the man with bouncy pom-poms on his head." With that, I reach up, trying to get at the pom-poms once more. Tobi spins around every time to evade my attacks, sending the pom-poms bobbling all over the place with each jerk of his body. Every motion ends up being ridiculously funny.
