Don't ever take off that mask.
The words echoed in my head and my hand came to a aggressive halt. I couldn't remember anything else, just those desperate words by a deep voice I didn't recognize. This was nothing like my other memories. They were always so lively, so bright.
This one seemed dark, and cold. With an evil presence.
I shivered and looked at the table again. They were still staring at me.
"Hey, is everything alright?" Deidara suddenly asked. I looked at him warily. Real worry was in his eyes, showing concern. I shook my head.
Get a grip, Tobi!
I stood up from the table, everyone's eyes on me.
You always get sudden memories.
"Sorry, is it okay if we talk later? Okay thanks," I replied as I rushed off into the bathroom. Unfortunately, there were people in it so I couldn't take off my mask.
Dammit!
I was confused. Why did that memory appear just now? I've been trying so hard to understand what happened, and now it seems like the memories are coming at random times.
I don't even know what compelled me to follow the order of the voice. I knew my brain wasn't the brightest crayon in the box, so it could've just been me making up that voice, those words. Maybe it wasn't even a memory.
But that chilling voice, those heated words. I knew this was something important I'd have to remember. But knowing myself, I wasn't completely confident that I would.
Well, that gave me a clue to my past, I guess.
I walked out of the bathroom and went onto the roof. I sighed as I sat down, at least the roof was empty. I removed my mask and began eating silently. After a few minutes I heard a bang on the roof door. I quickly turned around and put on my mask as quick as possible. I turned back around and saw Sakura heading towards me, with Naruto running after here.

"Sakura-chan!" he exclaimed.
"Naruto!" that's when Sakura noticed me. "Oh. Hey, Tobi," she said, glaring at Naruto who had caught up with her.
"No fair Sakura-chan!" he said, gasping for air.
"What are you doing up here, Tobi?" she asked, ignoring Naruto. I smirked.
"Oh, I see. Having relationship issues, eh?" I asked and a frown appeared slowly on Sakura's face. Then she was glaring at me.
"H-hey Sakura! I was just kidding! Just kidding! Ahaaha, what a funny joke I made, right? Ahaha!" I said desperately. Sakura looked really scary, giving me a death glare like that. Naruto cleared his throat. I looked at him and took note that he was blushing. I smirked underneath my mask. So, Naruto has feelings for this cute girl? Might as well tease them.
"Hey, Sakura-chan!" I said, walking over to her and putting an arm around her shoulders, making sure Naruto saw us. Sakura looked at me and her eyes widened, the same color of her hair dusting her cheeks.
"T-Tobi, w-what are you doing?" she asked shyly.
"Well, I just thought that you're very interesting. You have a very cute smile but you can take care of yourself," I said, tilting her chin up with my finger. Sakura was a lot shorter than me, so that worked out well.
A deeper blush covered her cheeks. I wondered when Naruto would snap.
"H-hey! Tobi you're taking it to far! Sakura-chan doesn't like you!" Naruto exclaimed. I chuckled and pulled away from Sakura.
"Don't worry, I was just messing with you, Naruto," I said, glancing down at Sakura. Her cheeks were red but she looked mad.
"Tobi!" she yelled, angrily.

"Wahhhh! S-Scary!" I said as I grabbed my lunch and ran down the roof. I made it down without seeing Sakura again so I slowed my pace. I walked back to class when the bell rang, doing my best to avoid Deidara. Maybe he wasn't with me in this class though. But so far he had been in all the classes that I was in.
I walked in the class and saw Deidara sitting in a chair next to the girl with blue hair. When I introduced myself to the sensei he told me I could sit in the last row which was empty. I obeyed and as I walked passed Deidara I heard him snicker. I turned to look at him.
"Ahhh, Deidara, are you stalking me or something?" I yelled, pointing at him. Deidara turned and glared at me.
"What are you talking about idiot?" he said.
"Waahhh, I'm not an idiot!" I screamed. The girl next to him glared at Deidara.
"Deidara! Why are you so mean to him?" she asked.
"Well why is it acceptable for him to be an idiot but not for me to point it out?!" he asked. The girl sighed.
"He's not an idiot, he just... has bad luck when he's thinking," she replied
"Heeeyyy! that's so mean! Hmph!" I exclaimed and stomped away to the last row angrily. I heard snickering and the sensei sighing but I didn't care. As the teacher taught I pretended to listen. My mind kept wandering to my memory and I just couldn't concentrate. The worst thing was that I didn't know if this memory was true or false. I tried and concentrated so hard on trying to remember more things about that voice. Who was it who said that?
I heard the bell, the loud ring interrupting my thoughts.
"Woohoo!" I said, gathering my things and putting both hands behind my head. As I walked out I heard someone come up beside me. "Well hello Deidara!" I said glancing at him.
"Idiot, who do you think you were fooling?" he hissed.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"You've got some intense listening skills there, Tobi. I didn't realize that to listen you had to put a hand to your ear, face it towards the sensei, and stare a hole into him. I've learned something new," he said, his remark dipped in sarcasm. I chuckled defensively.
"Hey, I can explain!" I said, staring at him. Deidara's face broke into a smile.
My heart skipped a beat as I looked at him smile, then he began laughing a little. My heartbeat sped up as I looked at his adorable smile and listened to his charming laugh. I didn't realize that I stopped walking until Deidara stopped too, turning around to look at me.
"What's wrong?" he asked for the second time that day. Before I could respond, I heard a voice behind me calling out my name.
"T-Tobi!" Sakura yelled over the loud crowd of students in the hallways.
I turned around to look at her. She was frowning and her face was red.

8 68The Mischievous Mrs. Maxfield
***The wrong girl is sometimes The Right One.*** Charlotte Samuels thought she'd be stuck waiting tables at Marlow's until all her debts are paid off-in about ten thousand years or so. She definitely didn't expect a marriage proposal from the arrogant Brandon Maxfield who was blackmailed by his father to make her his wife if he didn't want his least favorite cousin to run Maxfield Industries. Charlotte's instinct was to say HELL NO! but she's stumped by a few obstacles: 1.) His old man Martin Maxfield is dear to her heart and has been recently deteriorating in health. 2.) She gets a million dollars if she stays married to Brandon for a year. 3.) She would rather like the opportunity to teach the attractive but awfully rude man a few lessons he didn't think he needed from a 'teenage gold-digger' which was his term of endearment for her on their first date-er, business meeting. So what's a girl got to do, right? Sure, she's young and a little rough around the edges but there's something her would-be husband didn't know about her yet-she's nothing like he ever expected. Thrust into the glitzy world a standard-issue Mrs. Maxfield would fit perfectly and rule with impeccable social grace, Charlotte will either have to force herself into the mold or break free of it, risking what little she has left for everything that she can gain.*** Copyright © 2014 by Nina Tippett.
