naru-pov
I scowled as sparrows grumbling continued. We had been running for the better half of a day already and he hadn't stopped once.
I was only just reigning in my killing intent as I sent another clone out to collect the Shinobi that just spotted us, of course HE would be coming back in a body scroll.
I was getting tired of listening to sparrow to top it off he was loud enough for shinobi we could have otherwise avoided to hear us and come running, hence why I've been sending clones out left and right.All.day.
I scowled as I heard him complaining about how stupid the samurai were to not even know one jutsu. i stopped abruptly and spun around.
My glare could've levelled mountains and my killing intent released slightly, he was on the floor mumbling apologies in seconds. I could see zabuzas eyebrow raised and his mouth curled into a bloodthirsty smile through the bandages.
I continued on and when we finally reached the gates I dismissed everyone and made my way to the hokages office to report.
As I entered the room I anbu knelt to the hokage and told him the mission report. He raised his eyebrow as he saw my quiet seething at sparrow and I carefully arranged my face back to blank and continued the report.
As I was done I received the pay for my anbu squad and I went back to my house where I could see my team relaxing in the kitchen.
I deposited everyones share to them and took out the smallest amount I would need placing it in my wallet and formed the summoning signs.
I summoned one of my messenger foxes and gave her my envelope of money and told her to take it to queen like I had every time I was paid.

I ignored the incredulous looks coming from sora and zabuza as I stretched cracking out my back.
Looking out the window I smiled at the sunset and suddenly zabuza cleared his throat.
"Naru... sora, haku and I would like to know what you really look like... we know your our leader no matter what, but one day we might not know who to look for when we need you... and on top of that you should trust us with this we are your team."
I flinched slightly and looked at him the others were trying to hide their interest and nodding in acceptance I lifted the genjutsu and watched as they all grew taller and as their jaws dropped to the floor.
I scratched the back of my head nervously and realised how long my hair was as it reached past my shoulders.
My eight year old self was revealed and apparently none of them suspected anything.
I sighed and lifted my massive shirt over my head walking back towards my room to get into my Naruto sized clothes.
I didn't notice the pale faces watching as the scars were revealed, in the samurai land my scars were partially covered with genjutsu to look only slightly different coloured than my skin and if you looked carefully you would see it.
But now they could clearly see all the damage I had, had inflicted on me.
As I was entering my room I heard sora call out "what type of mission caused that!." He called and I turned my head back to him
"Not all Jinchuuriki were ignored, like you sora. I didn't get these scars from a shinobi." I gently told him as I left the room.
I walked into the bathroom and practically died at how annoying my hair was going to be to fix.

I grabbed a kana and a chunk of hair, its Time this was fixed I thought as I cut my hair back to the length of my naru genjutsu.
Finally as I left the bathroom in a white long sleeve shirt and comfortable black ninja pants I could sleep and stretching out on my bed I did exactly that.
Without the strain of the genjutsu it was the deepest sleep I had had in a very long time.
If I had looked out my bedroom window I would have seen an impatient crow summons on the window sill with a letter addressed to me, but I didn't and the crow summon waited for me to wake up.

Unwitting Champion
"In stories this is always easy. There's magic and powers, and quick steps to claiming that power for one's self. This doesn't feel true for me. I'm supposed to be a Champion, whatever that means, and yet I don't feel important. I don't have all the bells and whistles, which honestly feels familiar even in a new world. But what was I expecting? I haven't had the worst life - there are people with worse problems than mine - I've known what it is to struggle, to be pulled down instead of being helped up.This is nothing new."When in great peril, the Kingdom of Althor has no choice but to send a call into the void, beseeching the Fates to bring them a man who would save them from the coming darkness. Unfortunately the path the Fates chart is often unknowable to men and the Champion who appears is not what the kingdom expected.Unwitting Champion is a story of a guy displaced, dealing first and foremost with trying to survive in a world where he is no longer a person but a tool, and - at least from the reaction of those around him - a shoddy one at that. His major goal is to survive long enough that either he can run or find a way home, because as exciting as the possibility of learning magic might be, he would rather have a boring life than a short life.
