today we were going out to the hideout where orochimaru was last seen.
we needed one more team member because jiji said "taking on an organisation full of s ranked criminals id absurd especially when none of you are over the ag of 18."
that meant my genjutsu had to be in place the whole mission, AND that i would have to order the team around since i am the team leader. on top of this my teammates and i cannot take off our masks in the mans presence.
waiting at the gate my fox mask in place and white anbu clothing i waited for itachi and then shisui to arrive in succession before we all stood waiting for out last member to arrive.
he was the only one not wearing the white anbu garb, possibly because he was not an elite.
frowning i looked the new member over and concluded that he was "yamato" or really tenso, he was coming most likely to keep me in check.
frowning i barked the order to leave and told shisui to carry tenso, the man didn't seem too happy about it but soon realised when we took off at breakneck speed that he had no hope of matching.
we reached the hideout at midday and sent out clones to do the recon, after the all clear the team went to the weakest wall of the hideout and I used the jutsu to mix mine and rama's chakra together to heighten my hearing.
listening i could hear an argument going on and the oily voice of the sannin could easily be chosen from the rest.
i ordered the group to wait until he left and an hour later he did, the argument obviously ended with the snake leaving the akatsuki.
confronting him as he was leaving I shot a shadow mind destroy jutsu which is a variant of the mind speaking i did for communicating, its purpose was to scream extremely loud in the victims head giving us the advantage.

he screamed in pain as he heard thousands of screams simultaneously.
scowling i coldly ordered the others to attack we were all fluent together but tenso slowed us down. and was completely out of sync.
frowning i ordered tenzo to stand down and assist if necessary.
dodging a giant snake i sent a ball of wind chakra to itachi to help power up his fire attack.
i watched in awe as the caramel haired anbu captain fluently attacked and protected using his wind to assist the uchihas with his fire attacks and his speed to protect their backs.
he was the main key in the group, it was obvious that without him they would be dead a hundred times over.
the captain ordered me to stand down and it was clear why, my presence in their fluent group was slowing them down.
as soon as i was out of firing range the group sped up to insane levels all you could see was the white of their oddly coloured anbu clothes
it was amazing but it wasn't enough for the snake sannin it was clear we had gotten the jump on him but he was still mostly unharmed and the team had many small scratches from the sannins sword and snakes. curiously the captain would always take on the snakes.
its as if he was the least likely to be affected by the poison...
i watched as the team slowly go overwhelemed and ran to help them an order from the captain was barked out, "Tenzo, don't get involved, stay out of this!"
i backed down and watched with wide eyes as the uchiha was nabbed by a snake and began screaming, luckily the snake sannin was swinging wide always missing them it was almost as if....
ah genjutsu itachi probably placed it.

our group was injured and the younger uchiha poisoned it was clear we had lost, the only thing stopping us from dying was captains speed who was now mostly carrying the poisoned anbu.
i watched wide eyed as an annoyed tch came from the captain and he handed the injured anbu over to me.
i held weasel steady as i watched what he was going to do.
his hand reached up in a symbol and a huge amount of chakra built up before KAI!!!!
a huge poof was heard and he was suddenly gone, the sannin however was flying around as if being hit.
it dawned on me that fox was now so fast i couldn't see him if at all possible my jaw dropped lower.
snapping out of it i hoisted weasel up his weight was honestly ridiculous i'm barely holding him up and he's mostly standing on his own.
helping weasel away and into some cover i used wood style to make sure our position was completely hidden and continued to watch the fight.
bear and captain fox had teamed up and were simultaneously attacking bear hit harder i noticed but captain was faster. what was lacking from weasels presence was made up by fox who i noticed was extremely careful not to allow any injuries to further befall bear.
slowly my eyes adjusted to the insane speeds and i could make out jutsus being sent one after another and i could also caught a glimpse of the tell tale uchiha fire jutsu and could instantly tell bear was an uchiha.
i grinned as i watched the snake sannin being beaten, we have a chance! a small one but a chance non the less.
i smiled satisfied the other two weren't going to die yet and turned to weasel uncovering the arm he was bitten on i used one of my medical justus to suck the poison from his veins making sure non was left.
he was unconscious now from the pain and it was safer to leave him that way, its not like i could carry him anywhere else.
glancing back at the fight i saw the two fighters clearer now and it was obvious they were tiring out the sannin was laughing and attempting to bite bear whom was constantly being protected by fox.
i could see sweat on the captains and bears face and i knew we weren't going to win today.
it took another couple hundred hits and the sannin looked like he was finally defeated, that was until he shed his skin
i swore and i saw fox grab bear around the waist and suddenly i was being dragged by a hand following it you could see fox running carrying weasel and running ridiculously fast.
i kept lookout behind me and couldn't see any sign of the sannin we lost him but that means the team is not ready to fight the sannin.
after a good 40 or so kilometres captain stopped dragging me and we set up camp for the night.
weasel was kept by the fire until he wakes up and bear was tending to everyones injuries today we failed

An Average American in A High-school Academy Anime
An American versed in narrative tropes and more than mildly acquainted with anime wakes up in a completely different bed than the one he went to bed in. Now he has to scramble to understand where he is, what's going on, and hope to God he isn't in a relationship drama. I don't expect this to be good or well-received, but I have plenty of time this quarantine, so I'll try to get a chapter of 4000-10000 words out every one or two weeks. (haha) Please let me know how it can be improved. I'm an avid reader of fiction, but I've never really fallen down a rabbit hole so hard that I can name all tropes and settings and such by heart. I'm not sure if this will be effective satire, so I preemptively apologize. Inspired by: "My Life is Not a Manga, or maybe..." by EO Tenkey and "The Simulacrum" by Eganthale. Check them out if you want probably better stories than this one.
