《The Last line of Uchiha》Part 42

The sun shone brightly through the window the next morning. The birds sang sweetly as the calm hum of flowing water woke a sleeping Kazane. Said kunoichi inhaling deeply through her nose as she cracked her eyes open.
"Mmmmm~" She groaned to herself, stretching her lazy limbs.
Kazane closed her eyes once again, turning over and stretching her arm out to Ukai's side of the bed, only to lift her head when she felt no warm body beside her.
"Ukai?" She called, sitting up, looking around the traditionally styled room.
Standing, Kazane shivered when a cool breeze blew through the open window, causing her to wrap her arms around herself, pausing when she realized why she was so cold.
"Where are my clothes?" She questioned, looking around the floor.
After dressing in her underwear and the shirt Ukai wore last night, Kazane ventured out into the hallways of what she assumed was Ukai's new house, cause there was no way Sakura would have bought this house for just the three of them... it's huge. Then again that would make more sense than Ukai living here all by himself.
"Ukai?" Kazane's voice rang through the empty though simply decorated corridors.
The purple-haired kunoichi lazily raises her hand and ran it lightly along the walls as she walked, humming to herself. When she reached the end of the hallway, there was a set of stairs leading to the lower floor, the sound of music and a very delicious smell filling Kazane's senses.
"Mmm," She hummed as she closed her eyes and took a deep breath, skipping down the steps and toward the music.
Upon finding the source, Kazane stopped in the doorway leading to a kitchen and dining room. The culprit of the harmonious melody sat on a small table beside an open door, showing off a mini courtyard with a large Sakura tree in the middle.
'Wow...' Kazane stared in awe at her surroundings, slowly walking into the room before movement to her right caught her attention.
Ukai was in the kitchen cooking what Kazane assumed was breakfast. The young kunoichi smiled, walking up behind the larger ninja and wrapping her arms around his torso.

"Morning," She spoke, relaxing against her partner.
"Hmm... Good morning beautiful," Said male chuckled as he greeted back, looking over his shoulder at his girlfriend.
"Mmm whatever that is... it smells amazing," She called laying her head on his back.
"I'm glad you think so." Ukai turned in Kazane's arms, cupping her face with both his hands and laying a gentle kiss on her lips.
"How did you sleep?" He asked softly.
"Better than I have in weeks that's for sure," Kazane bit her lip and smiled, shifting her gaze from Ukai's lips to his eyes and back again.
"Yeah?" Ukai pecked Kazane's lips again.
"Mm-hmm," Kazane nodded, gaining another peck.
"Good," And another...
And another...
Eventually, small innocent pecks turned into a make-out session.
"By the way, I like you wearing my shirts," Ukai whispered, slowly sliding his hands up the back of Kazane's thighs, up over her butt lifting his shirt with it.
"Mm~ Ukai..." Kazane muttered between kisses.
"Hmm~?"
"Something's burning..." Kazane pulled away.
"Aaah shit" Ukai spun around to face the stove, turning it off and furiously grabbing at whatever sat on the pan.
"Is it dead?" Kazane chuckled, standing on her toes to look over Ukai's shoulder.
"No, no it's ok, I got it," Ukai pulled the pan up, scraping the slightly overcooked but otherwise perfect fried salmon onto a plate.
"Hungry?" Ukai smiled, turning to face Kazane and holding up the dish.
"Starving," Kazane closed her eyes and smiled back.
Sitting down at the table, Kazane paused for a second to stare at all the food.
"This is incredible..." She breathed.
Before her lay bowls of steamed rice with miso soup. Ukai set the fried Salmon down next to a plate of fried horse mackerel, picking up pieces of sliced lemon to place beside them. The side dishes consisted of warm Natto, plates of cucumber, radish carrot, and ginger. There was a perfectly golden omelet set beside Kazane's main plate, along with a bowl of fried mushrooms, beans, and carrots.
"What?"
Kazane lifted her gaze to Ukai, seeing the Uchiha staring at her as she stared at the food.

"Nothing," Kazane quickly dismissed, shaking her head.
"Is there something you don't eat? I can make something else if you want~"
"No," Kazane cut Ukai off.
"No it's perfect... just, perfect," Kazane smiled once more.
"Thank you for the food, it looks delicious," Kazane put her hands together before picking up her chopsticks and her bowl of rice.
Ukai sat and watched Kazane for a minute, waiting for her reaction.
'Mmmmm... this is so good!' Kazane thought looking over at her boyfriend.
"You're not eating?" She tilted her head to the side.
"No I will, I'm just... making sure you like it first," Ukai answered.
"It's amazing Ukai," Kazane grinned, picking up another small heap of rice and eating it.
'I'm glad...' Ukai smiled, picking up his chopsticks and beginning to eat.
After breakfast, the couple had opted to sit in the garden under the trees by the mini ponds. They have had their fair share of battle and bloodshed for the month and thought sitting together in the quiet was a nice change.
"I still can't believe you live in this huge house all by yourself," Kazane spoke as she was knelt behind Ukai, braiding his long hair.
"I don't for the most part, I'm always out on missions that usually require a good 4 to 5 days, and when I get back I usually spend the time with mother and Sarada," Ukai answered, continuing his book.
"Then why buy it?"
"For when I eventually have a family... I'll need all the space I can get,"
"Haha, you plan to have lots of kids then?" Kazane chuckled, finishing a braid.
"A dozen," Ukai snuck a cheeky glance back at Kazane.
The young Kunoichi laughed harder, standing and plopping herself in between Ukai's bent knees, leaning back onto his chest.
"Hey by the way," Kazane began, looking up at the sky.
"Hmm?"
"All those weeks ago, when you went blind, and I had to take you to... Orochimaru... he tried to explain this whole progression of the Sharingan thing to me," Kazane paused.
"Mm-hmm..." Ukai pushed.
"So I've seen your normal Sharingan, then there's the Mangekyou right? How does yours look?" Kazane bent her head back so her eyes locked with Ukai's.
"Uhhh, like a wheel of sorts, it's like three 'C's were put back to back. Kind of like the warning sign for radiation." Ukai tried to explain.
"Can I see them?" Kazane asked.
"I don't know," Ukai answered.
"Why not?"
"Well, the next stage of the Sharingan is the Eternal Mangekyou, which is what we went to Maru~ uh Orochimaru for... it alters the appearance of the regular one. So I'm not sure I still have it," Ukai explained.
"Could you try?" Kazane asked, sitting up.
Ukai took a breath before nodding. The male Uchiha closed his eyes before reopening and showing off his basic three-tomoe Sharingan. He then released his breath as he shifted them, for a split second Kazane was shown Ukai's spinwheel-like Mangekyou, the design true to match that of a radiation warning. A second later, the wheel spun, shifting the red and black design into one similar, only a second smaller ring was added to the center iris, more elaborate detail adding in arched pieces and thick lines.
"Wow..." Kazane muttered, raising her fingers to place on Ukai's temple.
"Did it show?" Ukai blinked, reverting his eyes to their obsidian color.
"Yes, it's incredible," Kazane awed.
"Beautiful but tragic, Uchiha are born to go blind, that and to go without love," Ukai looked down.
"Don't be ridiculous," Kazane placed her hands on Ukai's face and pulled up, making him look at her.
"There is no way, a family as strong and as proud as yours, is doomed to existence alone in the dark. No one deserves that least of all you Ukai. And you can be sure I will always be here to light up your world..." Kazane spoke with a smile, her eyes locked with Ukai's.
"Of course you will," Ukai chuckled smiling.

Modded Skyr*m: Real Life Edition
It seems that I died while I was playing VR Skyr*m. The next thing I knew, I was standing in front of the middle-aged man who called himself The Overlord of Dremora and Dragons. He told me they were releasing Skyr*m: Real-Life Edition. However, you have to be dead first to play it, and I was chosen as a 'beta tester' of sorts. I found myself in a semi-realistic (thanks to mods) world, and I want to have fun and relax for the rest of my life, and maybe get back to Earth. There's just a small *RAWR* problem. Setting: This happens within the world in The Legend of the Fake Hero, specifically two arcs from now. About: I am writing this for fun as a side project. I intend this to be semi-interactive as I will have polls where readers can influence the book's direction. I have the final say because I believe that too many cooks in the kitchen are not a good thing. The plan is to write it in parts that are around 1-2k words. Typically around every 3 to 6 parts, they will be combined into a finalized chapter and re-edited for a smoother read. Release schedule: When I feel like it. I'll be more inclined to write if there is more interaction, both in comments and polls, towards the story. However, I will be focusing on The Legend of the Fake Hero because that is something I own entirely and enjoy. I will try to do consistent uploads. Disclaimer: This work falls under fair use as it is a partial parity, does not affect the value of the original work, is an original story within the setting (within my setting), and is not being sold. All IP belongs to their respective owners (including myself). Currently uploading on Scribble Hub and Royal Road under the same username.
