《The Last line of Uchiha》Part 22

(Ok I have no idea how long the trip to Kirigakure is so I'm just going to go with five days)
"So you made it threw the Jounin trials with no problems, heh, considering you were up against Kakashi-sensei I'm surprised." Lord Naruto chuckled as he sat in front of my team and me.
"Getting the bell was the easy piece, keeping the bell, that's a different story." Takai chuckled, rubbing his neck.
"Well congratulations, you three are now officially Jounin of the Hidden Leaf village." The Lord added before Shikamaru handed us Jounin vests.
"Keep it, I would like the ANBU application," I say not giving the vest a second glance.
"Right," Shikamaru sighed, placing the vest down on Lord Naruto's desk.
"Come in tomorrow morning, we will have everything ready for you then," Lord Naruto says nodding his head at me.
"Why do you want to join the ANBU? They haven't had a purpose since the war." Hashima asks me placing his hand on his hip.
"ANBU are the most elite, being one is an honor, whether we are in a time of war or not, but I wouldn't expect a simpleton like you to understand." I face the shorter male.
"You wanna fight Uchiha!?" He hissed.
"NOT! In the presence of the Hokage! Thank you!" Shikamaru hissed at us, pointing to the door.
I bowed to Lord Seventh, smirking at Hashima before exiting the office. I headed home, walking through the peaceful streets when a few kids ran up to me.
"Excuse me! Ukai-sensei!" A small voice called.
I looked down at the group to see a girl standing at my feet while her friends waited behind her. This little girl had brown hair and big grey eyes, standing in front of me with a determined expression and her hands in fists next to her.

"Yes?" I looked at her.
"Um, My name is Mino! And, I was wondering if you would help me and my friends train!?" She asks before she and her friends all bow.
I stared at the group of children.
"Mino, you know your parents want nothing to do with me right," I tell the small brunette.
"But Daddy says you were his brother! That everything he learned was from you! You have to teach us!" She looked up at me with wide eyes, begging along with her friends.
"I'm not a sensei kids, I don't work well with children," I say putting my hand on her head before walking past.
"Fine! BIG-BROTHER UKAI!" Mino yelled making me pause again.
"Please train with us! Come on, please! Uncle Yuto said you were the best! Aunt Minka talks about how awesome we were all the time!" A string of pleas came from the children.
I groaned, pinching my nose before turning back to the children.
"This won't be easy," I mumble to myself before looking down at Mino.
"Fine," I say placing my hands on my hips.
"YES!" All the children cheered, jumping around and hugging each other.

Once I had gotten away from the children and got home, it was already dark and Mother was already home.
"Welcome back Ukie," Mother smiled at me.
"Thanks, Mom," I smiled softly at her.
"How was your day?" I asked her, entering the kitchen.
"It was tiring, but good, and yours?" She asked as she continued to prepare dinner.
"It was ok," I say walking up behind her.
"Let me help," I say taking some of the ingredients from her.
"I remember you used to hate cooking with me." Mother chuckled.

"Yeah well, I had to learn," I mumble starting to cut.
The room went silent before Mother spoke up again.
"Oh by the way, how did the exam go?" She asked.
"We passed so, now Hashima and Takai and Jounin," I say throwing the chopped potatoes into the pot.
"That's great, Naruto told me you had Kakashi-sensei as the Jounin to beat, I glad you made it." She hugged me from the side.
"And you had Hashima on your team, that must have been interesting, you two used to hate each others guts, always getting into fights." Mother chuckled.
"Still do actually. Lord Naruto has the ANBU exam for me tomorrow morning by the way," I add.
"ANBU huh? That's impressive Ukie," She smiled.
"Hmm, and once I've completed a few missions and saved up I'll be able to find my own place," I add.
"What? You wanna move out?" Mother stopped and turned to look at me.
"Yes, I mean, I've been a burden on you and Sarada for long enough, I can't lean on you forever," I say finishing off the vegetables.
"Ukai, you will always be welcome here. You're my son, and I'm sure Sarada wound never object to having her brother around." Mother says to me before pulling me in for a hug again.
I sighed, hugging her back. It was a little strange though, when I was younger and sad, her hugs used to circle me like a blanket, now I'm the bigger body, and she's the one enveloped in my arms. I smiled, resting my head on hers and she squeezed me tighter.
"Come now, let's eat before it gets cold." Mother pulled away and began to serve up into bolls and on plates.
I headed into the dining room, I pulled everything I needed to set the table out of the cupboard and placed them down, watching mother bring everything through and set it down before we sat down. It's still a strange feeling. After 10 years, I had almost forgotten what it was like sitting and eating with a family, but now that I'm back, I could get used to it again.
