《The Last line of Uchiha》Part 12

Running home, the young Uchiha couldn't even see where he was going. His eyes were stinging with tears and his vision was blurred. People on the street would jump and step out of the way as to not be run into. No one understood why Ukai was in such a hurry, he usually took his sweet time, he usually didn't care.

Ukai jumped onto walls and trees to reach up and run along the rooftops. It didn't take long to reach the Uchiha home, but Ukai wasn't coming home, so he climbed into his room via the window. The Uchiha boy didn't know what to do with himself, he kicked his feet into the floor and threw his sword across his room. Frozen in that position, he growled, clenching his fists and allowing his power to run wild. Ukai could see red energy waves begin dancing around his body and could feel the serges of electricity it sent through him. Pulling back, Ukai looked around his room before walking over to his bed and pulling the sheets off. He threw them around, throwing his pillows and flipping the mattress. Kicking his bedside tables, his desk, his cabinets, the young boy let out all his anger.

"Ukie?" Ukai snapped his head to his door as Sarada opened it looking around the room before her eyes fell to her brother.

"Get out," Ukai whispered looking at the young girl.

When Sarada didn't move, Ukai growled and his eyes burned, he could see the red glow of his eyes reflect off everything in the darkroom and he slowly walked toward his sister.

"Ukie? You're scaring me." Sarada whimpered.

"I said, GET. OUT!" Ukai snapped and the red energy around him flew toward Sarada.

The younger Uchiha screamed and slammed the door, protecting herself from her brother's attack and running away. Ukai hissed, turning back around and looking around at the mess he had made. He growled and pulled at his hair before falling to his knees and screaming, sending bursts of energy out and igniting a full red flame around himself. Everything around him was pushed back and the whole house shook. Ukai curled into a ball and continued to scream as tears rolled down his face. A series of frantic knocks pulled his attention to his door and he watched the knob turn and turn as someone tried to open the door, but the energy Ukai was giving off prevented their entry.

"Ukai! Ukai open the door!" His Mother's voice called.

"YOU LIED TO ME!" He called back.

"Ukai!"

"YOU KNEW HE WOULDN'T CHOOSE US! YOU KNEW HE WOULDN'T STAY AND YOU DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING TO ME!" The flames around Ukai grew.

"Ukai please, open the door we can talk about this!" Sakura tried again.

"NO I'M DONE TALKING! I'M DONE TRYING TO PROVE MYSELF TO SOMEONE WHO DOESN'T CARE!" Ukai cried.

'If Father's not going to love me, and doesn't want me around, I'll just have to find someone who will!'

The young Uchiha walked toward the door and placed his chair in front of it, locking the knob in place before calming himself and letting his energy die. He looked at the door and could only imagine the expression on the face of the woman behind it. He could hear her pleas and cries but they didn't filter in Ukai's head, they fell on deaf ears. Ukai changed, pulling on black leggings and a long-sleeve black shirt, pulling on his vest and jacket, securing the bandages and guards on his arms and legs before grabbing two swords, holstering them on his back, pulling up his black mask and looking around his room. He headed for his draws to grab his stash of Kunai and shuriken when his eyes fell on a picture.

It was a photo of the Uchiha family when Ukai turned 12, just after graduating from the Academy. What is it with Ukai and pictures? They always seem to cause more damage. The young Uchiha lifted the images, smiling at it before throwing it to the floor and stepping on it, cracking the glass frame and making little cuts in the photo. Ukai then turned and jumped back out his window, climbing onto the next house and running off just as Sakura got into his room.

"Oh my God," Sakura pulled her hands to her mouth.

Everything was in ruin and there was the smell of fire in the air. Sakura ran to the window, looking around for any sign of her son. Feeling tears in her eyes, she slowly dropped to her knees and cried.

"Mommy?" Sakura looked up at her daughter.

"Where'd Ukie go?" Sarada asked entering the room.

"I~ I don't know baby, but don't worry, Daddy and Uncle Naruto will find him." Sakura beckoned her daughter to her and hugged the younger female.

"Sakura!?" Sasuke.

"Daddy!" Sarada ran out of the room and down the stairs.

Sakura stood, wiping her cheeks before exiting the room and waiting by the stairs as Sarada pulled Sasuke up them.

"Welcome home dear." Sakura choked.

Sasuke walked closer to his wife and held her cheek to make her look at him. He then looked left into the cold black room.

"He's gone," Sakura whispered.

...

..

.

"What?" Sasuke whispered back as his eyes went wide.

The older Uchiha walked past Sakura and into his son's room. Sasuke was shocked at the damage the boy's room had sustained. Naruto was right, Sasuke had just pushed one of the only things he truly cared for away. Sasuke had noticed the little signs of rebellion, like when Ukai would poke Sarada's forehead the way Itachi poked Sasuke's when Sarada tried to play with him or when he started training himself to perform Jutsus that were nowhere in his level, Ukai was developing a lot of Itachi's traits and that scared Sasuke, but Sasuke did nothing to stop any of this, that was his mistake. He had just sent Ukai down the exact same path he had traveled as a kid, only his son wasn't fueled by revenge like Sasuke was, Ukai was fueled by hatred and the pain of being abandoned.

Sasuke looked down as glass cracking under his foot caught his ears and he bent down to pick up the shattered photo of himself, Sakura and Ukai.

"I'm sorry Sakura, this is all my fault." Sasuke turned back to his wife.

"No dear, don't say that, it's not true." Sakura shook her head.

"I need to find him." Sasuke looked out Ukai's window at the rising moon.

Sasuke and Sakura headed back down to the front door, opening it and seeing Naruto standing there.

"Hey," Naruto said.

"Ukai's gone," Sasuke said back.

"What?" Naruto's face fell.

"I'm heading out now to see if I can find him." Sasuke stepped out of the house next to Naruto.

"I'll come with you." Naruto nodded.

Sasuke nodded and jumped away, Naruto was about to follow when Sakura grabbed his arm.

"Please, bring my boy home." She cried.

Naruto nodded and jumped away, Sakura watched their figures in the moonlight as they ran. She took a deep shaky breath, bringing her hand up to her face to wipe her eyes before putting it over her mouth and letting out a shaky sob.

"Mommy?" Sarada walked into view.

"Oh Sarada, they will be ok, and they will bring your brother home." Sakura rubbed her daughters back and bounced her on her hip lightly.

"But it's your bedtime." The older woman walked upstairs and put her daughter to bed.

"Mommy, can you sing for me?" Sarada asked.

"Of course, what would you like me to sing?" Sakura smiled.

"What Ukie sang to me, the night of loud noises and lights," Sarada whispered.

Sakura was surprised, she had only ever sung to Ukai once and he remembered the song after 10 years, she sang it softly to Ukai before he fell asleep so Sakura didn't think he had paid attention but he was singing it to Sarada when she couldn't sleep? Sakura smiled with tears in her eyes but nodded. She sang the song when Ukai couldn't sleep because it was his favorite, so she sucked in a deep breath and begun to hum.
