Ukai
'Gosh! Why don't people know when to leave me alone!? Can't you see I went up there to be alone!? That's the one place I can go to think! The one place where I can get away from it all! The one place where I don't have to follow rules, the one place I can forget!' I hiss jumping from tree to tree before onto the ground in front of my house.
I pulled my shoes off before quietly opening the door. Poking my head in, I scanned the halls and room before slipping in and closing the door. I tiptoed my way toward the stairs and began to make my way up.
"Ukai..."
Damn it. I paused, lifting my head to look over the rails to see my Father standing in the doorway to the living room. He was standing there with a slightly concerned expression and his hand on his hip.
"Yes Father?" I make my way back down the stairs.
"We need to talk." He said.
"Ok." I followed him into the living room and sat across from him.
"Where have you been all day?" He asked.
"Out," I answer.
"Where?"
"Training," I add.
"By yourself?"
"Yes,"
"Why?"
"I just wanted to get the extra practice in,"
Father hummed before he spoke again.
"Ukai is something wrong?"
"No, why would there be?"
"You snapped at your Mother this morning, for no good reason apparently." Father leaned forward.
I bit my lip, fiddling with my fingers.
"Why is that?" Father asked.
"I didn't mean to..." I whisper.
"Has she done something to upset you?" He asked.
I shook my head.
"Have I?" He added.
I shook my head again.
"Then why are you so angry?"
Why am I so angry? I'm not angry...
"I'm not angry I~ I just..." I began but a high pitched giggle then rang through the air and Sarada crawled into the room and toward us.
I clenched my fists when she pulled at Father's leg.
'Can't you see he's talking to ME!? Get lost!!'
She looked from Father toward me and smiled, crawling in my direction but I jumped onto my chair before she reached me and jumped over the back before I run up the stairs.

"Ukai!" Father called after me.
I ran into my room, slamming my door shut and flopping down on my bed. I pushed my face into my pillow and screamed my lungs out.
'God Sarada is so annoying! The brat seems to sense when I'm with our parents and swoops in to steal the spotlight! I hate her!' I hiss pulling my head from my sheets and growling. _______________________________________________________________________________
The next morning I was out of the house before anyone was awake. I took my sweet time walking to the academy this morning, going past my favorite restaurants to grab breakfast and lunch before actually heading to the academy. By the time I got there, most of the students were already there, greeting their friends and playing before class. I pulled my book out of my bag and jumped into my favorite tree, laying against the branches and reading. The bell soon rang and I jumped down, heading for homeroom when I saw Minka walk through the entrance. She stopped walking when she saw me, staring at me. I stared back before turning and heading into the academy building. The morning went by faster than I would have liked and it was now lunch, I had once again secluded myself from the rest of the students, sitting on the roof and watching everyone else play. Some were playing soccer, others were reading like I was, others practicing their Jutsus and others just sitting, talking and eating. I set my book aside and sighed as I lay back. I closed my eyes, enjoying the silence and sun. I reopened my eyes when I heard an eagle flew overhead, screeching as it did, flapping its strong wings as it flew. I closed my eyes once again taking a deep breath before yelling and laughter reached my ears. I sat up, looking over the roof edge and watched what looked like three boys bullying a girl.
"Cut it out, you guys!" Minka?
What's Minka doing in a fight? She never gets into fights. I didn't even think she got picked on. I watched closely as the three boys pushed her and tugged at her hair.
'Here we go again.' I sigh jumping off the roof toward them.
"We have something to tell Uchiha, we just want you to deliver the message." The first boy laughs.

"Not man enough to tell him yourself?" Minka hissed.
"Why you," The first boy raised his fist, aiming it toward my friend and swinging his arm.
Minka cowered and ducked, but the punch never came. She looked up and saw I was standing there. I had a plain but unamused expression on my face. I had my left hand in my pocket and my right was holding the first boy's fist.
"Striking a girl is low. Why don't you pick on someone your own speed huh?" I push his fist away.
"We've been looking everywhere for you Uchiha. Do you think you can hurt one of my friends and get away with it?" He pulled his hand back.
"I'm sorry, who are you talking about?" I raise both my eyebrows.
"Ok smart guy. Take this!" He then swung his fists at me.
I stepped left and right, dodging each punch before grabbing his hand twisting it behind him and pushing him away.
"Sorry, take what?" I question.
The boy growled at me.
"Ukai~" Minka whispered.
"Go find Yuto Minka, I've got this," I say not moving my eyes from the group of boys in front of me.
"O-Ok," I then heard my teammate runoff.
"So, we still have a problem?" I asked tilting my head.
"You bet we do." The second boy helped his friend before the three of them stood in front of me with their hands up.
I looked over all three, far left is a long-distance fighter, far right hand to hand preferred, and middle likes toys. I sighed, dragging my right foot behind my right and stuffing my hands in my pockets.
"You three sure you don't wanna call some friends? This doesn't exactly seem fair." I teased.
They growled and I chuckled. The students around the grounds saw our little barter and begun to surround us. Watching intensely at the fight that was about to go down.
"Hasima might have gotten his butt kicked, but he's nowhere near our level!" Middle sneered.
"You're right, but you can always dream right?" I smirk.
"Shut up! I'm going to wipe the floor with you Uchiha!"
I smirked, watching as each created five clones.
"Very well, please, show me what you've got!" I say bringing my hands up.
~
"Enough! What do you think you are doing!?" I turned my head and watched as two teachers ran onto the field toward us.
I got up from my knelt position on the floor and stuffed my hands in my pockets. The three other boys also got up off the floor, turning to the Senseis. We didn't say anything as the two lectures looked between us.
"Principles office, all four of you!" The first said.
I sighed but turned and started heading in the direction of the main building, the three other boys following after. They were a little more beaten and bruised than I was and one had a little trouble walking but I found it amusing. When we reached the principles office, we were told to wait outside, that the principle would see us shortly. I threw myself down onto one of the waiting chairs on one side of the door but the other three boys took the other side.
'Ha! Scaredy cats.'
"You four can go in now," Sensei said coming out.
So I waited for the three boys to go in first before following in. We all stood in a line and bowed before the Principle. He had his hands under his chin and was staring at us with cold eyes. We managed to walk out of there with nothing more than a slap on the wrist with a very hard metal ruler and a month of detention. The three boys ran off to wherever but when I exited the office, my Mother was standing in front of me. She had her arms crossed and a frown on her face. I sighed following her home.
"Your Father wants to talk to you when we get home." Mother said.
"Ok..." I shrug.
"I had to tell him." She sighed.
"I know..." I say.
"What happened?" She asked.
"Some of Hasima's friends were picking on Minka," I add.
"Oh,"
Mother stopped asking questions after that. We made it home quickly and I went straight to Father's office.
"Father," I call opening the door.
"Shut the door Ukai."

The Way Ahead
What do you do when you don't fit in? Edwin never really felt many connections to other people, but as a physics student, that was fine. He didn't really need it, anyway. He was content to peel back the mysteries of the universe... not that there were many left to find. Modern-day research was just too well-established, too well-trodden for any single enthusiast to make any significant headway. But that doesn't apply to other worlds. Not ones where magic and Skills run rampant, where well-defined roles and Classes dominate much of society with little room for novel experimentation from its residents. That kind of world would be perfect for an overeager, newly-minted Alchemist to make his mark. Things are never that easy, though. The Way Ahead is a very slice-of-life story following the story of someone trying to find his place in a world that doesn't know what to do with him. Expect lots of science, lots of alchemy, a few sarcastic quips by the System, and lots of exploration involving the world, self-discovery, and above all, science. After all, further research is always required. Updates every other day at 9 AM PST. Congratulations! For writing a story during the month of November, you have unlocked the Royal Road Writathon Participant path!

Wander West, in Shadow
BOOK 1 COMPLETED A young wizard journeys west, through dark forests and dangerous lands, searching for something. Accompanied by a wild witch who has secrets of her own, they come across terrible creatures, hauntings, cursed villages, and memories from their past. Who else will they meet along their journey, and to find what he is looking for, how far will the wizard have to wander west? NOTE: The above synopsis is intentionally written to be as spoiler-free as possible. If you would like a more in-detail synopsis, one that contains minor spoilers, please check out the "Synopsis" chapter at the beginning of this fiction. If you read and enjoy, please leave a rating or review! FORMERLY TITLED: THE GLIMMERLING This story was formerly titled "The Glimmerling", because the first part was a short story of that title; it has since been expanded upon, thus the title change. Chapters 1-8 (30k words) are the first 'arc', if you want to get a feel for the story. To give some context on the setting: Magic is a bit weaker in this story than you might be used to, and we start off following some relatively new magic users. For some perspective, being able to light a campfire with magic is considered relatively advanced for someone who is the age of the main character. Magic can become very powerful - and there are some examples of powerful wizards within this story - but it's not where the main characters are yet. Part of the story is about following them as they learn more about magic. Enemies are also very dangerous, and running, hiding, or trying to talk their way out of a dangerous situation is often a better choice than fighting for the characters. While I have added tags for traumatizing content, sexuality, violence, swearing, etc. I try to avoid super-explicit descriptions of these things. But they are part of the story.

Humans Must Adapt!
Humans Must Adapt is a First Person point of view from the eyes of slightly crazy and totally not a masochist MC. The setting takes place on a copy of earth with a different name. A cataclysmic event causes the native humans to be usurped from their natural place at the top of the food chain. Time has now passed, and the Humans have managed to settle themselves into mediocrity. But this is not enough.Note: I don't plan on including sexual content. The MC won't have an end game goal right from the start. Feedback is welcomed. The MC is a Tamer.
