I watched the doctor as he spoke but I couldn't hear a word he said.

What's going on my vision was getting blurry. My heart kept beating loudly

"Ava Ava" the sound of my name felt distant and just like that, everything went dark.

Is this the end?

Would I finally leave this Earth?

No. I can't

Aliyah

I gasped out as I opened my eyes. I took in my surrounding. I was in a room. This looks all too familiar for me

"Ava are you alright?"

"Get the doctor"

I tried to seat up but I couldn't

"Shuush baby stay put. Let's wait for the doctor"

I moved my head slightly to face my mom. Everywhere hurts

I was still in the hospital. But why am I here. Why am I on this bed.

Where's Aliyah

"Mom?" I croaked out

I felt hot tears pouring from the side of my eyes

"I'm here baby, I'm here" she cooed holding my hand

My Dad walked in followed by Ben, accompanied by a middle aged man in white coat, obviously the doctor

He moved towards me, doing whatever he was doing on me.

I tried to move again but I felt a sharp pain on my head

"Ow" it hurts so badly

"Don't move" the doctor spoke

"You hit your head really hard when you fell" he spoke calmly

"Thankfully you didn't damage anything serious. You'll be fine" he gave me a smile

A nurse came in after the doctor had left with a medicine tray, I watched how she pushed it close to me. I don't understand. Why's nobody saying anything about Aliyah

"Mom?"

"Dad?"

"Where's Aliyah?"

They all starred at me quiet. Even Ben was quiet

I tried to get up again but I couldn't

"Mom" I croaked out

"Why aren't you saying anything"

"Ben? Where's Aliyah"

"Well ehm.." he started but got interrupted by the nurse

"Sorry guys but I think you all should leave. It's time to give the patient her medication. She needs to rest.

You can all come back after an hour"

They nodded, standing up to leave

"Nononononono don't leave. Mom, Dad, Ben" I tried to look at them, expecting some sort of reassurance

They all smiled and left afterwards

"Why aren't they saying anything to me" I asked the nurse

"Because you need to rest"

"I don't care" I cried

"I don't care" I repeated

The pain from my head was too much.

I felt pain everywhere

I don't know what she gave me but my eyes felt heavy

"I don't care, I want to see Al" I muttered sleepily

"Rest for now" she said

I couldn't do a thing. I laid there helpless, before finally falling asleep

By the time I woke up nobody was around. I was able to get up this time.

I stoop up quickly, not before removing the cannula attached to my hand.

When I got out of the room, I noticed Sarah and Derek sleeping in the corridor.

I tried to walk fast towards them but my pase was really slow, I still felt weak

"Sarah" I spoke gently, bending to touch her. She kept sleeping. I shaked her lightly this time.

She raised her head looking around sleepily

"Hey Sarah" I spoke

She looked slowly towards me

"O my God Ava" she exclaimed pulling me in for a hug

"Ow ow ow"

"Oh my God, sorry" she quickly pulled back.

Derek was still asleep

"It's fine" I chuckled

"Where's everyone" I asked

"They went to get food, they'll be back"

I just had to ask the one question that has been on my mind

"Sarah... Where's Aliyah?" My voice broke cause I was scared

"Ava" she started crying

I watched her still, trying not to panic just yet

"Aliyah lost a lot of blood" she spoke

"She's been taken to the theater for surgery" she wiped her tears

"We're all waiting for the doctors to get back to us"

I nodded

I felt like all the life in me had been drained out

I was weak. Physically and emotionally

I sat down next to her and stared at nothing

"What about Mr Anderson" I asked, since I didn't notice him anywhere here

"He's at the station. Carson has been arrested"

I nodded as I processed what she was telling me

I noticed Ben walking casually towards us

He moved close to me, taking the seat next to me

"Hey"

"Come here" he said, pulling me slightly for a hug

"Everything would be just fine"

He whispered, kissing the top of my head

I stayed like that in silence

"Everything would we be just fine"

I want to believe that too

Few minutes later we were approached by two men in scrub

"Where's the patient father?"

We stared at them. Derek spoke up

"He went out for a bit. But you can speak to us, we're family too. What's the news?"

I watched as they interacted

"The surgery was a success. She's going to be fine"

The moment I heard this, I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding

Sarah squeezed my hand

"Can we go see her now?" Ben asked

"At the moment she's resting so you'd have to wait for a couple more minutes"

they smiled at us before walking out

I've never been so happy about anything in my entire life. I honestly didn't know what I would have done

I hugged Sarah tightly as tears poured down my eyes

Few minutes later and we heard the nurse telling us we could visit now

My palm was sweaty

I waited for everyone to leave so I could be alone with Aliyah

I watched her sleepy form as hot tears poured from my eyes

I positioned myself gently on the bed. Careful not to do anything to wake her up

I laid beside her, gently resting my head on her shoulder

"When you wake up I'll be right here" I whispered

I move my lips gently to kiss her cheek

I will never let anything happen to you again.

I was finally able to close my eyes, falling asleep right after
