Watching as the hills became only a faint outline, and as the baby blue sky began to fade into a distant fire-like image, the two lovers spent their remaining afternoon out on the water, travelling through an endless ocean abyss.

They laid upon the end of the luxurious boat, picking off grapes from the picnic basket and feeding it to each other as if they were children.

An endless breeze laid upon the water and the soft sound of waves crashing along the boat's side, the two had a moment of peace.

No longer with troubles or distractions, the lovers could finally relax and have a moment to themselves.

"It's days like these where I feel best." Valentina sighed with a small smile as she played with the blanket's ruffles. "It's reassuring somehow."

"Like nothing can touch you?" Hazel responded blankly, her gaze meeting her lover's side profile.

"Like I can escape from my life." The brunette answered, her voice soft and lifted.

Hazel liked this side of Valentina. She knew so much about her yet so little at the same time. Before she wanted to ask Valentina permission for something, she had to know where she stood.

From the basket, Hazel had picked up two glasses and a bottle of her finest champagne. Filling the two cups, the two lovers resumed looking upon the distant horizon in which laid upon them.

"This view is incredible." Valentina muttered under her breath, however loud enough for Hazel to hear.

"It really is." The brunette heard Hazel say, in which she turned her head and saw the woman head-over-heels for her.

Valentina chuckled at the woman's attempt of flirting, yet still gave into her comment. Before she could respond to Hazel, the blonde has already grasped the brunette's hand.

Hands interlocked and a focused gaze, Hazel exhaled a heavy breath before she mustered the rest of her courage and said what had been bothering her for the past two weeks.

"Valentina, two weeks ago, you said you love me." Hazel said, her gaze focused on her and the brunette's hands.

"-And I'll continue to." Valentina reassured in case Hazel thought differently, which she didn't.

"Now I know you don't like me basing out a relationship off of a contract, but make this an exception." Hazel began, lifting her eyes to see a concerned look on her lover's face.

"In these three months, I've lived a life that I never thought I'd have. You've made me realise that there is nothing else I want to do, except be with you. No matter where you are, I'd follow after you, and no matter the situation, I'd be there for you-"

In Valentina's eyes, she began to grow nervous, but for a good reason. She said she loved Hazel, and she meant it, and she knew that it meant a lot for Hazel, so there was no need for doubt in her case.

"-We met because of a contract I thought was needed to impress my family. It was so that they could realise I'm not the person they think I was. But now, I don't care what they think of me because I have you. Now, I... I want to ask you something that I never thought of doing."

From her pocket, a fancy box contained a family ring that had been passed from generation to generation. Hazel's mother had given it to her when her husband went off the grid, disappearing from their lives completely. Hazel has kept it safe, yet she never dreamed of using it, to fulfil its purpose. Yet here she was, her water-line overfilling of emotions with the person she cared for the most.

"I want this to be official. No contract and no rules." Hazel stated with confidence, telling no lie in her words.

Opening the box to reveal the ring, she saw from Valentina's eyes a reflection of utter surprise. She beamed with happiness and smiled as if it was her last chance to be happy.

"So, by saying this now, I hope we can spend our life together without a contract's bond."

With one of her hands again interlocked with Valentina, she used the other to pull out the ring from the box and hold ut between her two fingers, making the diamond glisten in the fading light. "Will you make me the happiest woman alive and marry me?"

At this moment, Valentina couldn't be happier, no words could describe a fraction of what she was feeling and she loved it. She loved her. "Yes."
