"Hazel! God are you okay?" Mia remarked as she bent down to her daughter's level, watching blood ooze out of her wound. "Do you want me to-"

"-I'm fine mother." Hazel interrupted through gritted teeth, hiding her pain from the people who surrounded her, especially the brunette that stayed a few paces away from her. "It's a scratch, not a bullet wound." She finished as she saw the pitied face of her older sister, internally scoffing.

Dealing with the pain, Hazel stood up and walked away, concealing her limp from the people she left behind. For no reason did she want pity, she never needed it before, so why need it now.

The three girls were left behind where the blood of Hazel was slightly spilt, "I'll go check on her." Valentina mumbled as she left without another word, confused about why Hazel stormed out on her family so coldly and without a reason.

Valentina found herself following the fading footsteps that she knew was Hazel's, who else would step obnoxiously confident other than her.

The brunette stopped as she walked into the women's change room to see the blonde sitting on top of the bench with a bandage in her hand. "You're seriously not gonna clean that?"

"Why should I, it's just a scratch-"

"-Stop with the tough act Hazel, you're allowed to show a little emotion when you get hurt." Valentina intervened before the girl could further evaluate herself. She saw a flicker of confused and hurt in the older girl's eyes before it disappeared into the lifeless eyes she always knew of. "Now let me clean it, considering you don't know shit about wounds."

Silence fell upon them, the only sounds were the medical substance being drained into a small cloth in which was soon applied to the blonde's wounded skin. Releasing a small grunt, Hazel bit her lip, hushing her pain from the woman she sat before.

Looking up to check, Valentina saw how Hazel lightly bit her bottom lip, her white teeth barely visible. A warming sensation grew in Valentina, a feeling she once had but never welcomed back. Her eyes drew back down to the wound after she caught herself staring at the woman's lips involuntarily. "So are you gonna tell your fiancée why you ran out like that?"

"Fake fiancée" Hazel reminded, exaggerating the 'fake' bit, however shutting her mouth quickly as she felt a sharp pain hit her as extra alcohol was applied.

"To us, but not to them. And it's not the point." The brunette replied in a soft manner, stopping her movement so she could finally look at the woman's jewelled marbles for eyes. "Hazel, please."

The girl sighed, retracting her eyes from the woman who kneeled between her legs, she fiddled with the buttons of her jacket that she placed neatly on her lap. "I... I'm not the type to show emotion, it's not that I don't want to, it's just that I don't know how to."

Valentina stayed quiet throughout her first sentence, waiting for her to continue on before she spoke on her behalf. "My father raised me to be someone I chose to leave behind, but when he left, I realised how wrong I was, and how much I hurt people. That's why I bottle myself up because I don't want people to know who I am. If my father was here, he'd-"

"-No don't you dare finish that sentence." Valentina interrupted as she saw no tears dared to roll down the woman's cheek. Of course, she felt pitiful but she felt sympathetic, for she was also raised like that until a certain point. "You know you're worth Hazel, you know who you are, and you... you're remarkable. I-I know I don't know you, and you might not want me too but I'm glad you shared this with me." Valentina then took Hazel's hands in hers, holding it gently and giving it a warm home of comfort while she stood up so the two were face-to-face. "Thank you for letting me in."

Although it wasn't much, it impacted the way Hazel thought of Valentina, despite their quarrel when they first met. Not much time had passed but Hazel felt the need to explain herself to Valentina, it felt like she could trust her. They only knew each other for a little less than a month, yet Hazel felt somewhat comfortable in sharing this information.

There was a moment in which Hazel felt the feeling in which she never felt before. It was a strange yet warming sensation she never experienced before, but considering her circumstances, she wanted to hold onto that feeling, just for a little longer.

Deep down, both girls were broken from their own past experiences. They never knew the true sense of love, hence why the two grew up mature for their young age and too independent to realise that some days, they're going to need help.

The orbs of the two women connected, both profoundly fragmented and lifeless as the other. Valentina slightly licked her lips in anticipation, because right now, her body was aching for someone she couldn't have, or she had believed.

Leaning slightly closer, Hazel's eyes dipped down to the younger girl's lips and how she'd agonizingly lick them nervously. Still, with their hands interlocked, Valentina gave up on waiting and kissed her, making both of the women's heart quickly race.

As expected, the kiss was delicate, savouring yet so refined. Both the women felt the knot in their stomachs grow needier and more pulsing. As Valentina deepened the kiss by tilting her head, her hands moved to the woman's exposed skin on her waist, tracing small circles occasionally.

Hazel, on the other hand, secured her hands on the woman's neck, playing with the strands of hair that came in contact with the woman's face. Feeling remarkable, Hazel wrapped her legs around Valentina's waist, pulling her impossibly closer for more contact.

The two were in complete bliss, knowing each other for a month brought them to this moment, a moment which was broken by the loud thud of the door opening.

Breaking apart rather quickly, Hazel saw the shocked expression Valentina displayed, she soon began to curse herself for even kissing her in the first place.

Does she regret it? Hazel thought as her eyes flickered between Valentina and Teagan who stood flustered in the doorway.

"I-I... Bad timing?" Teagan stuttered as she rubbed the back of her head awkwardly, her eyes roaming to the flustered brunette that stood in the middle of Hazel's leg. "I was just gonna say that mum just left but I uh... I'll give you two a minute-"

"-No need, I um... I'll just get out." Valentia replied quickly, finding the quickest route of the room that was filled with too much tension for her liking. Like her nature, she ran away from her problems rather than facing them, practically, it was her human nature.

The girl walked out, still flustered from the kiss itself and the interruption. However, she found herself over-thinking so many questions that she may have the answers to. But all she couldn't answer was why did it feel so right?
