Considering the much 'generous' offer on sleeping on the floor rather than the bed, Valentina woke up early, earlier than normal. Staring into an abyss of a snow coloured ceiling, she decided into getting ready for a run across the Grayson estate reflecting on how little she knew of the Grayson territory.

With the morning breeze hit her skin, she began to jog at a slow pace, then increasing her speed as she felt the adrenaline kick in.

Her feet gliding softly across the pathways, her mind began to wonder about the Graysons, especially her newfound fiancée, Hazel Grayson.

What is she hiding?

Acknowledging how little she knew about the woman, especially using the internet, Valentina summed up many questions about exactly who she was. Valentina knew that her father was absent for most of her life, relating back to how he was still off-grid, she also knew that her family was better off without him.

Unfortunately, Valentina's mind crossed to the fact that although no funeral was set for the man who Valentina called her father, Valentina remembered how the police mentioned that his body wasn't recovered, but it didn't mean he was alive, the building the ceremony was held in was burned to the ground as an ambush.

For years Valentina bottled up tiny bits of hope that her father would return to her family, but in the end, he missed thirteen years of the young woman's life, not that it was his fault at all. Yet her brother, on the other hand, handled the 'disappearance' or death of their father quite roughly, resulting in him building a reputation for the Amon family that Valentina never wanted.

In another piece of her mind, Valentina's mother was also out of the picture thankfully. To Valentina, her mother was nothing but an unneeded weight upon the family, all she did was drink away her emotions until it was the time before she officially left the family for good. Up till now, she's still God-knows-where, probably restarting with another family.

Clearing her mind as she came to an abrupt stop, Valentina noticed she came across a monument that had engraving upon it, it had the names of the people who faithfully served under the Grayson name, and it included her father.

Valentina brought her hand upon the monument, over the etched name of 'Ambrose Amon'. With tears daring to slide down her cheek, she quickly wiped them away, once again covering herself from any lasting emotion she had left.

She backed away from the monument, giving one last look to the stone figure before running back to the Grayson estate in which she had to deal with a fiancée she barely knew.

"Where were you." Hazel muttered as she lifted her eyes off her computer, then noticing the girl's puffy eyes and red cheeks. "And why are you crying?"

"I don't need to explain myself to you." Valentina derided, picking up the clothes she was to wear to the special-get-together the Grayson family hosted for her sake.

"What's your point, Valentina?" Hazel asked, slightly intrigued into why she was acting so defensive when it came to communicating with the girl.

"My point is that I don't like people like you, you're everything I hate in a person. So don't act like you care about me." The younger girl confronted, slamming the door to the bathroom as she finished, leaving the blonde woman confused and frozen.

Hazel thought little of Valentina before she had read her file while she was out of the bedroom. The older woman learned that she was in her final year of college, meaning that she was still somewhat of a child since she didn't know the aspects of the business world. She also learned that she practically had no family, with her mother absent throughout her whole life, her father's body disappearance and her brother who Valentina doesn't even know where, her life was a complete mess.

The only thing holding it together was the small hope of the return of her brother and this job as a fake fiancée, yet Hazel felt like she still knew nothing about the girl. Although it was out of the question, Hazel wanted to learn more.

Normally, she could read people like a book, but with Valentina, she could only see a broken doll. Typically, Hazel wasn't the type of person to make an effort to pleasing people other than herself, but if she were to make this 'fake fiancée' job of use, she would have to make an effort to know Valentina, whether she liked it or not.

"What's up with you and Valentina?" Teagan asked her sister that stood with a glass of champagne in her hand, watching her staff members socialise with her fiancée.

"Mhm, what about it?" Hazel murmured, slightly listening to the conversation that Ezra, the assistant of her mother, and Valentina were speaking of.

"She's acting so distant, did something happen?" The older sister noticed as Valentina gave a side-eye glance towards her fiancée.

"How'd you know, is it that obvious?" The blonde slumped, downing the rest of her champagne recklessly.

"Uh, woman's intuition?" Teagan suggested, trying to make a joke out of her sister's predicament. "What did you do?"

"I-" Hazel paused, trying to describe her situation in the easiest way possible without revealing the truth into why Valentina was here. "I don't feel like I know her as much as I'm supposed to, and whenever I try and make an effort to, it blows up in my face."

"Take her somewhere that you two communicate privately, maybe take her to the-"

"-gazebo." Hazel intervened in Teagan suggestion, receiving an idea into how to actually make this fiancée job work.
