You weren't even sure what you were thinking when you decided to step in front of Kara as they shot her. Kara had quickly apprehended the suspects as the bullet had been lodged in your body, managing to cover the kryptonite and allowing her to not be affected by the effects.

She rushed you to the DEO where Alex had been waiting with a team to deal with your bullet wound as well as your blood loss. You were losing too much blood way too quickly and they weren't even sure if you were going to make it. Despite the many flat lines that you went through, Alex continue working on you. Making sure to do anything possible to keep you alive.

Cat had been at her office working on the front cover of the latest issue when she heard loud gasps throughout the office.

"I don't pay you to stand around and stare at the TV. I needed those articles an hour ago. If they are not turned in in the next hour or so. I will be firing someone."

It was enough to cause everyone to go back to work despite wanting to look back at the TV and see what was going on.

Cat turned around to turn off the tv when she noticed why everyone was gasping. All of her TV's were displaying Kara gently lifting you out of the scene and taking you off to god knows where. The public had no idea of where you were being taken to but Cat knew. Without saying a word or anything to her secretary, she grabbed her purse and rushed out of the building and into her car to head to the DEO.

She broke just about every speed limit to arrive at the DEO within a couple of minutes, she rushed inside, only to be stopped by the security because she had forgotten her visitor badge.

"I have very little patience at the moment and if you don't let me in. I'll make sure that your erased from existence with a single phone call. No one will hire you and no one will ever know what happened to you if you don't let me in in the next few seconds."

The guard nearly pissed his pants at Cat's threat and immediately allowed her to ride the elevator up to the DEO room.

"Where is she? Where's (y/n)?"

Cat could tell from the look in their faces that something terrible had happened to you. No one dared to go up and talk to her. She had no idea where anyone even was and she was reaching her breaking point. Cat needed to be with you. She needed to be there for you.

The DEO agents had called for Kara to come get Cat as they knew they were close friends.

"Oh Supergirl, what happened?"

Cat never liked to appear weak in front of anyone but at the moment, she needed a hug. She needed someone to tell her it was all a big joke and that you were back at home making your terrible salsa.

"I'm sorry Cat. I couldn't stop her. She was much quicker than me and ended up getting shot at instead of me. You know I would have taken her place if I could have."

Cat broke down at Kara's words. She had stayed composed from the very beginning and she just couldn't hold her tears back.

"It's okay Cat. Alex will do anything she can to keep her with us. She's the best of the best."

Kara continued talking, hoping to get Cat to calm down. It wasn't even a few minutes after she told you when Cat pulled back and acted as if nothing happened, she turned around and dialed the third number on her speed dial.

"Hello?"

"Lena, (y/n) needs you. Alex is capable of working on humans and aliens but has never worked on meta-humans. She's been going to you to help her with her powers. You're the only one who knows how her body works."

"I'm on my way Cat."

Lena hadn't had a chance to look at the tv or anything to find out what was happening. The only thing she knew was that Cat had begged her to come over and help you and that's what she was going to do.

"Where is she?"

"Down the hall and third door on the left. Alex will be waiting for you outside to fill you on what's happening."

Lena rushes to follow Kara's instructions and quickly put on the scrubs to head inside. She forced herself to use everything she learned with the Luthors to not let any of her emotions take control. She needed to be detached about this or else you would die.

It took a couple of more hours with Lena's extra pair of hands but they had saved you. You needed a lot of rest but you would be fine. Lena took off her scrubs and made her way to Cat and Kara with Alex.

"Well how is she? Is she okay?"

"She's going to be okay Cat. She'll just need a lot of rest and she'll be back to running around the city."

Cat rushed to hug Lena and Alex.

"Thank you so much. I can't thank you enough for what you did to save (y/n)."

"It's our honor. We love (y/n) and we love you too. The two of you are always taking care of me and protecting me from everything along with Kara. I'll never be able to thank you for the three of you do for what you do for me. This is the least I could do. Now go in there but save the lecture for another day. She needs her rest and I know you're just dying to yell at her for being so careless."

Cat lets out a loud laugh, surprising everyone around them. It was such a relief that Cat was smiling again.

"I can't make any promises. She did give me a scare."

She makes her way to your room, quietly stepping inside to sit besides you.

"God. I'm so glad you're okay, (y/n)"

She whispers to the quiet room.

"I couldn't lose you."
