You weren't even sure why you tortured yourself like this. Why you kept asking Lena out when she was clearly not in love with you. She was too nice to plain out tell you no and you were still too hopeful that she would end up changing her mind about going on a date with you.

The more you kept asking her, the more she would pull back on your friendship until eventually the two of you stopped hanging out.

Lena felt bad about all the avoiding. She didn't want to hurt your feelings despite always seeing those sad eyes everytime you were given an excuse as to why the two of you couldn't go out together.

The truth was that Lena really liked you. She was head over heels in love with you and it killed her to tell you no everytime but she could not risk you getting killed because of the fact that you were dating a Luthor. Her life was constantly filled with kidnapping and assassination attempts and she didn't want that in your life. You deserve someone that lived a normal life. Someone that wound't get threatened every single day. Every day, she would keep repeating to herself that it was for the better.

It was Kara's annual thanksgiving party and everyone had been invited. You, included but you decline. Telling them that you were too busy with something and despite Kara insisting for you to come over for at least an hour, you couldn't. You couldn't face Lena. You were embarrassed. You had finally accepted the fact that you were only making a fool out of yourself with each attempt and you didn't want to face her after your realization.

Lena didn't want to make it obvious but she was curious as to why you hadn't shown up.

"Kara, did (y/n) say she was going to come?"

"Sorry Lena, I invited her but she claimed she was too busy and wouldn't be able to come."

Lena nodded sadly. She had hopped you would come.

"But anyways, have you seen the way James looks at you. I think the two of you would make a really cute couple, Lena."

She turned to look at him, giving him a smile as he waved at her.

"I don't know Kara. I don't want to put anyone in danger because they are dating me."

"You wouldn't. James can take care of himself."

Lena couldn't say anything anymore as Kara rushed off to get James to come over.

Since Thanksgiving, Lena and James had been dating. You hadn't known about it because Lena had wanted to keep it a secret. Mainly to avoid you finding out and explain herself to you.

The two of you would occasionally text and despite wanting to tell you about her relationship with James, she just couldn't.

You missed Lena a lot after not seeing her for months and you finally convinced yourself that you would be fine with just having Lena as a friend. You could always find another girlfriend but you wouldn't find another friend like Lena so you picked up her favorite food and headed to her office to have lunch with her as a surprise.

Jess wasn't at her office and since you had been added to Lena's 'always allow' list, you opened the door to her office to find her and James kissing.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to."

You accidentally dropped the food and rushed out of the lobby and into the stairs as you weren't going to wait for Lena to catch up with you.

"(Y/n)! Wait!"

She pushed off James and tried to follow you but by the time she you had gotten to the stairs, you were already gone.

After much begging from your part, Kara reluctantly agreed to take you to Earth-1. You didn't reveal your true intentions as to why you wanted to come. You had only come to visit Cisco for a favor but you had told her that it was just to take a vacation so she just left you with her friends and made you promise to text her if something went wrong.

"Are you sure that you want to just leave, (y/n)."

Cisco asked for the third time as he prepared your suit.

"I am. This is for the better, Cisco. I've never asked anything of you and I just want to start off in another world. One, where the love of my life is not in love with someone else. I just want to be happy."

Cisco nodded, finally understanding why you were doing this. He pulled you in for a tight hug and handed you a watch.

"Okay, please give me a call if you need help or anything. I hope everything works out and don't be a stranger."

You nodded and with a push of a button, you traveled to Earth-22
