Summary - You and Alex have a competition for a girl
Suggested by - Janafo28
Lena had been holding another conference to talk about a new product she was going to sell in a week or so and had asked for the DEO to provide security as she was sure there would be people there wanting to hurt those that had attended.
J'onn knew that anything Luthor related would always be disastrous and so assigned you and Alex's teams as her security.
Just as Lena had said, there had been an attempt on her life and the lives of the aliens that were attending the conference. You and Alex protected Lena while the rest of your teams dealt with the threat.
"Are you okay?"
"I'm okay. Thank you. I really didn't think they would actually come and attack but I'm just glad the two of you were here."
You gave her a smile as did Alex. The two of you led her to a van that had escorted her out of the area while you dealt with the aftermath of the attack.
You kept quiet as you kept thinking back to how Lena had a tight grip on you as you led her out. It had been the first time you were close to the other girl and it made you realize that made your crush on her wasn't just something you could forget.
"Hey, are you okay? "
Alex asked through the comms after noticing you had been quite for a while. Usually, you would be bragging about how you had managed to save someone but not today.
"Just thinking."
"Well come on. Spit it out. We're suppose to be able to trust each other."
She was right. You had always told her everything as she did. But could you tell her about this? Alex wasn't the biggest fan of Lena and you knew she could try to get you to push your feelings aside and you couldn't do that this time.

"(y/n)? Come on. Tell me."
"It's nothing, Alex."
"Liar. Tell me or I'll tell Kara you ate her last box of potstickers."
"You wouldn't dare!"
"Try me."
You groaned loudly and figured it was better to just spit it out.
"Fine. I like Lena."
"I like Lena too. What's the big deal?"
"Nooo. I mean I like like Lena."
Alex stayed quiet. She thought it was going to be mission related, not this.
"Alex?"
"I'm here. I just don't know what to say."
"I know you don't trust Lena and so on but I can't help it. She's just amazing and pretty and.."
"I get the point."
Alex had to come clean as well.
"I uh. I like Lena too."
"Please tell me you mean in a friendly way."
By now, the two of you had stopped helping with the aftermath and had just been ordering your teams to help deal with the mess.
"I can't lie to you, (y/n)."
"Well shit."
The two of you stayed quiet while you debated what to do. On the one hand, the two of you wanted to date her but on the other, this could ruin your friendship.
"I propose a deal. A friendly competition if you will."
Alex started off. She was always the one coming up with outrageous things to bet on.
"We both try to do things to impress her and at the end of the week. We both ask her out and see who she chooses."
"Lena will hate us if she finds out we're competing about who will date her."
"She doesn't have to find out."
And that's how the competition began.
At first, the two of you had done things to help her out. Bringing things to her office as she asked or inviting her to places she had yet to go see but Alex turned it up a notch when she decided to install cameras and microphones in Lena's apartment.

You figured it wouldn't hurt to do so and installed some as well with the help of your team.
Both teams had gotten involved in the competition as well since they liked to bet on things and each team were betting on their respective leaders.
With the help of the cameras both you and Alex began to find out different things about Lena.
What she loved to eat, what movies she liked to watch, what she liked to read, people she would like to talk to, and just about anything she might like.
Lena had noticed something was going on when both you and Alex began to bring her things that she was more than sure she had never told anyone. It pissed her off to no end when she discovered the cameras and realized that it had been you and Alex that had installed cameras. That's when she got the bright idea to get back at the two of you.
She decided to get ahead of this and ask the two of you out to dinner on Friday. Neither of you telling each other in order not to jinx yourself.
Imagine yours and Alex's surprised when the two of you arrived at the same time and were led to the same table where Lena was waiting, sporting her CEO face that you had only seen Lena use when she was pissed off.
"Nice of you to join me. Please sit down."
"We ca-"
"Save it. Lets just enjoy a nice meal."
You looked at Alex, trying to see if she had an idea of what was going on to which she didn't. The three of you ate in silence and when all of you finished your food, Lena began to speak.
"I was thinking we were all friendly with each other and imagine my surprise when I discover that the two of you had installed cameras and microphones in my own home. I only have one question, why?"
You spoke up first.
"I'm so sorry Lena. I know it's messed up and they're not for the reason you think. We only installed them to find out more about you."
She raised her eyebrow at you, not liking your response.
"No. No. Not like that. We both came to a realization that we both liked you a lot and we both stupidly decided to do a competition over it and see who you would pick"
Alex nodded quickly to confirm what you had said.
"It's true. We're so sorry. I know we shouldn't have done that."
Lena sighs, unsure of what to do about this whole thing.
"I'm still pissed off about the whole camera thing and I'm flattered but I'm already with someone."
"Oh."
The two of you said at the same time.
"Who? If you don't mind us asking."
"Detective Maggie Sawyer. You might know her. She says that she butts heads with the two of you a lot."
As disappointed as you were that Lena hadn't picked anyone, you were just happy that she had found someone that made her happy. The rest of the evening, the three of you had talking and Lena even offered to set you up with someone she knew you might like.
It's why you found yourself on a blind date a week later.
"You must be (y/n (y/l/n)), I'm Lucy Lane."
