Summary: The two of you decide to adopt

You and Alex had been together for almost three years now. One year dating and the other two married. The talk about having a kid together had been discussed before getting engaged. It didn't matter whether someone gave birth to your child or you adopted, you just knew that you wanted a kid. There was no doubt in your mind that Alex wanted a child too.

It was quite difficult with both of your jobs for either of you to carry. Alex had just recently been promoted to director at the DEO but she still went out in the field to help out her sister. You never told her anything as she loved her job and loved working alongside her sister. You never wanted to take that away from her. You could've had a little wiggle room but ultimately your job came with a lot of stress and it wouldn't have been good for a baby.

Lena was the one that suggested we should look into adopting. She had offered to pull some strings to be put ahead on the list but Alex refused to take the offer. She needed time to be ready. Taking care of someone else was a big responsibility that she wanted to be prepared for.

Much like Alex, you wanted to also be prepared. Once you had signed up to adopt, the two of you began to look into taking several courses that helped with parenting and reading books about being new parents.

Both Lena and Kara had been extra supportive, they offered to help with setting up the room and buying several things that the baby might need for when they first came to the house. Lena and Kara even claimed that they would spoil them rotten. They wanted to be the best aunts the baby could ever have. Kara even managed to surprise you with a little Supergirl pajama for the baby. Not one to be beaten, Lena had made a state of the art baby monitor that would send you updates to your phone and watch. You could just tell that your baby was going to be spoiled by all four of you.

The day of going to pick up your baby had arrived and Alex was a nervous wreck. You had gotten a call from the adoption agency that the mother was giving birth and you rushed over to the hospital. Alex had yet to say a word but she still held on to your hand as you walked towards the room.

An hour later and (baby name) Danvers had arrived. You had been the first one to hold (him/her) as Alex was a little nervous. It took a lot of convincing from your part but she ended up agreeing to carry her. She was a natural. You made sure to take a lot of pictures of her and sent them to your friends, along with Kara and her mother. You never wanted to forget the smile Alex had as she held (baby name)

You couldn't help but laugh as Kara arrived with Lena a few minutes later. They were carrying a bunch of flowers, balloons and little gifts for the entire family. You were grateful that they had dropped everything and came to see their (niece/nephew).

You and Alex didn't leave the hospital until a few days later after they had checked that the baby was okay to go home with you. This allowed for Kara and Lena to head over to your house and baby proof the entire place. The baby had come sooner than either of you had expected and had yet to baby proof everything.

When you and Alex had arrived, you were greeted with Kara and Lena surprising you with the entire house filled with balloons and signs welcoming (baby name) home. It was a nice surprise as they had taken tons of pictures that you filled an album with.

This was the start of your family and you were happy that Alex was the one you would be sharing everything with.
