You and Kara were going strong. It especially helped that you knew about her other life as you were understanding of her leaving at random times of the day and suddenly appearing out of nowhere. It did help that Alex really liked you and kept you in the loop when Kara had been rushed to head towards a location.

Kara knew that there might come a time when one of her enemies would threaten your life. So she gave you a necklace with a hidden house sigil that you could use whenever you might get into trouble. You never used it thankfully but you were still grateful that Kara had given it to you. There were crazy people out there and you knew if someone found out about the two of you that they'll come hurt you. You just never had expected it for you to use it because of your ex-girlfriend.

It had been late at night, Kara had left earlier to deal with an alien downtown and you stayed awake to wait for her. She always insisted for you to not wait for you, it had become a habit. You were always worried about her whenever she put on the suit. You heard a knock in your front door but ignored it thinking it wasn't anything. Kara had a key and Alex would just barge in.

The knocking became insistent that you felt that they would almost knock down your door.

"Hold on. I'm coming."

The knocking stopped and you stood up to open the door. Everything happened so quickly that you didn't even have a chance to push her away as she pushed you inside and against the wall.

"You never gave me a chance to explain myself and now you're with that idiot."

You could't speak, she had her hand around your throat and was slowly chocking you. You weren't the strongest so your attempts to pull her off, was pointless.

"I loved you (y/n)! I cheated on you because of you. You were never around. Always hanging out with that blonde bitch of yours and you just pushed me aside. I wanted to marry you!"

You closed your eyes hoping it was a dream but the chocking made it impossible for you to sleep it off. You could feel yourself slipping away and it wasn't until the very last second before you passed out that you remembered about the button. You pressed it and closed your eyes, hoping she got here in time.

Kara had just about finished with the alien that was wrecking downtown until she heard the alarm that she hoped she would never had to hear. With a quick look to J'onn, you tossed the alien to him and rushed to (y/n)'s apartment. What she saw inside made her blood boil, almost to the point that she had thought that she had been exposed to red kryptonite.

Kara didn't hesitate to knock her out. She just wished she would have been able to spent more time with your ex-girlfriend. Make her wish she never stepped into your apartment but she was worried about you. She gently carried you in her arms and rushed you to the DEO.

Alex saw you in her arms and quickly led her to one of the rooms in the medical bay. Kara was too upset to properly explain what happened but Alex was able to figured out what happened with the marks on her neck. Once Alex had taken care of you to make sure there was no permanent damage, she went over to calm down Kara to ask her what had happened.

The DEO couldn't arrest your ex but Maggie certainly enjoyed putting her in handcuffs after she got a call from Alex about what had happened. Although, you and Kara had only been dating for a while, Alex and Maggie were both very protective of you.

You slowly woke up to find yourself surrounded by all three. Kara was about to pull you in for a kiss but was stopped by Alex.

"Sorry Kara, but it might be too soon for that."

It hurt to see how upset she was so you smiled and pointed at your cheek. Her face brightened and kissed your cheek.

"W..what h..ha..happened?"

You frowned when you felt your throat hurting.

"Your ex came over to your apartment and chocked you out. Kara knocked her out and Maggie tossed her in jail. She won't be coming out for a long time. We'll leave the two of you alone. We're really glad that you're okay, (y/n)"

The two of them hugged you and before leaving handed you a glass of water. You smiled, thankful for having them in your life. You took a sip of your drink as Kara talked.

"You had me so worried. I'm so sorry for not being there quicker."

You shook your head and cupped her cheek to force her to look at you.

"Thank you. You saved me. It's not your fault and don't you dare blame yourself. I love you, Kara."

She smiled and placed a soft kiss on your lips.

"I love you too (y/n)."
