The two of you texted back and forth a lot. These texts eventually turned into phone calls and eventually the two would always facetime each other. Which you absolutely loved. Katie was a gem to be around with and you seemed to fall a little more in love with her.

Her break had come to an end and she was making her way back to Canada. It sucked that although you were in the same continent, the two of you were hours away from each other.

With the two of you back to work, the late nightly calls had been reduced to just 3 per week. Katie was either working late at night or was too exhausted to stay up. It was absolute adorable to see her fall asleep after claiming that she wasn't tired. It also didn't help that you had recently been assigned to a project that took up most of your time. Your free time was spent either eating or catching up with Katie.

A couple of months had passed and the two of you had gotten to your schedule. The schedule helped you deal with the long work week as you would always look forward to talking to her.

Much to your disappoint, Katie had casually mentioned she wouldn't have time to call you at night. The show had wanted for them to travel to the states for some convention. You didn't bother to check what it was about as you were too disappointed about not being able to talk. With a promise to text you whenever she had time off, the two of you signed off.

Work had been particularly though. The team you were assigned to work with for the project had been changed and you had to reteach everyone what the progress had been. It set you back a few days and the deadline was fast approaching. Your boss had given you the next day off to help you relax as he had seen you tense. You were grateful to have such an understanding boss and thanked them before leaving.

Imagine your surprise to find someone waiting for you at the door. You were confused and little annoyed as they seemed like they weren't going to leave anytime. Today, was not the day to have them try to sell you anything.

"Excuse me? Excuse me?!"

You had to yell again as they never turned around to look at you.

"(Y/n)!"

Katie turned around, pulling you into a hug as she realized it was you. She gave you a sheepish smile and took off her headphones.

"I'm sorry. I wasn't sure when you would be home."

You didn't respond as you simply kissed her again. It had been your second kiss and it was much better than the last time.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were with the others?"

You asked as you let her in.

"I'm surprised you believed that. It was mainly to surprise you on my visit to come see you. Wait hold on."

She ran over to her rental and pulled her luggage with some flowers.

"Surprise!"

Katie gave you a wide smile and handed you the flowers.

The rest of the day had been spent with the two of you glued together. Neither you or Katie wanted to pull away from the other.

Your day off had ended and you figured you needed some more time. Considering that you had given your new team all the material they needed to study, your boss had granted a few more days off as long as you answered your phone.

Thankfully, no one had called while Katie had been over. The two of you spent a lot of time in the bedroom and the last few days of her visit, you showed her around town like she had back in Ireland.

Unfortunately, she had to go back to work but she promised to come visit again once the season was over.
