《Aphonic (Reincarnated into Otome Game BL)》4

The next morning, a knock from downstairs woke me up. I had fallen asleep between Sadie and Kingsley since they didn't have another bed. Sadie was downstairs and Kinglsey slept soundly beside me. I wanted to get up, but I couldn't. Kingsley had slung his arm around me and held me like one would with a stuffed animal.
Footsteps came up the stairs and Sadie appeared in the doorway. She chuckled at the sight.
"Kingsley tends to do that in his sleep. Let me help you." She managed to pry his arms away and I got out of bed. I gotta pee! Thankfully, I know where the bathroom is!
I hurried to the bathroom and went downstairs when I finished. Don't worry, I washed my hands. Sadie stood over the wood stove, making what looked like pancakes. They smelled like heaven.
Strong hands lifted me up in the air.
"Sorry, I couldn't help myself," KIngsley chuckled. He placed me on a chair and helped Sadie set the table.
"You can help pick up. Breakfast is almost ready." Sadie thought for a moment, "actually, can you pour the milk into glasses?"
I nodded, carefully lifting the jug of milk. My little body had to stand on the chair to pour the juice. My weak arms trembled under the weight of the heavy jug, but I didn't spill a single drop.
"Good job!" Kingley ruffled my hair. It felt silly getting complimented over a small thing like pouring milk into cups. Sadie brought over a huge stack of pancakes and we tucked in.
I wrote after the first bite. The pancakes were super fluffy and the syrup wasn't super sweet. The milk was WAY more delicious than the milk from my previous life too!
"Eat up, there's plenty more," Sadie smiled at my stuffed cheeks. I downed four big pancakes and suffered from a stomach ache.

I regret nothing.
My small stomach wasn't used to so much food. Maybe I should've stopped at two. Who am I kidding? Those pancakes were too good!
"I have something to tell you two," Sadie said when we all finished eating, "A letter came in from the palace. The king and queen are coming here."
"WH-WHAT?! THE KING AND QUEEN?! Why would they come all the way out here when we can go to them?"
"I don't know. I never expected them to leave the castle. That just shows how much the queen wants to see you." Sadie turned to me at the last part, "they'll arrive in three days."
My stomach squirmed, and it wasn't from the food. Reality hit me. I'm going to meet my parents in three days!
Sadie and Kingsley looked happy, but a little melancholic.
I smiled at them,
To my surprise, Sadie burst into tears and squeezed me tight. Even Kingsley looked a bit teary-eyed.
"You're the sweetest child I've known!" Sadie wiped her tears away and straightened herself out, "would you like to go shopping?"
I wrote.
"Then let's clean this up and get ready for the day." Kingsley and I took the dishes to the sink and wiped the counters and table down while Sadie washed the dishes. Within in hour, we were all dressed with washed faces and clean teeth. Thank god this world has toothpaste, morning breath sucks.
"We're off."
"Stay safe!" Kingsley called out from his shop. Sadie and I walked down the street. We stopped by some booths and I got some scented oils and herbal stuff to make balm and skin cream for Sadie and my parents.
I pointed to a metal shop.
"Why do you want to go in there?"

We walked in and I observed the various metals.
"Oh?" The owner seemed surprised, "well aren't you smart? Iron is a good choice if you want sturdy, but malleable. Steel-Iron-Nickel Alloy paired with Chromium is a combination you can use. We have a type of the alloy that's pretty malleable and you can use Chromium to strengthen it after you've done whatever design you desire."
"Okay, I'll get your stuff for you." The owner walked off, mumbling something that sounded like, "what a strange kid," or, "what a smart kid".
Who knows?
With the metal in my magic bag, Sadie and I left the shop. As we made our way across the street, there was a yell.
"Hey! Watch it!" A fruit vendor yelled at a few kids when they bumped into his cart. The cart tipped over and the kids scattered.
I ran over to him and helped pick up the fruit. I was careful to not step on any and put them back in the correct place.
"Thank you very much! As thanks, take what you want."
"Of course! How many do you want?"
I turned to Sadie. SHe thought for a moment.
"I believe around 6 apples."
"I'll give you ten, how's that?"
"You're a good kid, so I'll give you ten." The kind vendor put ten apples in a paper bag, "here." Sadie took the paper bag from him.
"Thank you very much!" Sadie smiled at the vendor.
I snuck a gold coin on the vendor's cart before we left. The vendor opened his mouth to say something, but stopped when I smiled and waved bye. His grateful smile made me feel happy.
I proceeded to help an elderly lady across the street, then gave a kid who fell an apple since I felt bad for her. Sadie smiled the whole way.
"You'll make a great king one day," she beamed.
"I know so."

Apex Predator
Earth is a fairly small place, but it's all Bath has. It's the only home he's ever known for all of his 500-or-so-million years of life. One day, Bath realized his treasured Earth was being drawn into the next mass extinction ahead of schedule. So, fascinated by the humans and their quick rise to power (after all, setting off a mass extinction is a pretty sizable achievement), what's a nearly all-powerful, somewhat bored, morally ambiguous, savagely violent, shapeshifting alien entity to do other than assume the form of a human and do some front-line investigating? Little did Bath know he would soon stumble upon a mysterious human organization with a gate leading to planets eons away. And that's just the beginning... A story with aliens, intergalactic space travel, mind powers, and an abundance of adventure! Author's note: ON HIATUS! Hello and thank you for reading! Constructive criticism and grammar-policing are both appreciated. Parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are complete at 1271 pages! Part 7 is in progress! If you've ever read any other web serials, you might've noticed that authors get better with time (that is, their art or writing improves). Wutosama of Metaworld Chronicles noted that the first 20 chaps are always a mess. This is also the case with Apex Predator. The first two parts (ranging just under 30 chapters, or 161 pages) are absolutely subpar. While I have edited them as of 7-10-18, they require a rewrite, which is currently in the works but not complete. For a sample that gives insight into what the latter ~80% of the story's writing style is like, check out chapter 56. Vote for Apex Predator on Top Web Fiction! The Apex Predator Discord is here. Cover: original work done by me, the author, caerulex.

Polyrhythm Time -- A Bard's Tail
Have you ever met someone who loves what they do so much that they'll skip sleep, food, love and safety to pursue it? What happens if that kind of person encounters a different dimension, yet holds on to their love of music, and specifically of rock drumming. When the world ended at the end of 2057, Kevin Snackenbridge slept through it. He'd been drumming all night. tl;dr-- System eats world -- Monsters and magic ---- LitRpg -- Practice, not levels and stats ---- MC Bard -- support class -- low power ---- MC chooses music over survival skills --tl;dr Kevin trips into the Internal Strength Dimension where Thaumaturgy is king. With the help of a talking plant and several vicious monkeys he learns that the rule is "Change or die." Kevin changes, but remains firmly a drummer/Bard in this high fantasy setting. This is Kevin's adventure, and that of the friends he meets. Kevin has the soul of a real musician. He loves music, specifically rhythm and drumming, and would give his left nut if it would help him drum better. He's a rock drummer, and his language is that of a rock drummer: slanged, duded, and frequently laced with profanity. He focuses on music, and makes decisions that even the author doesn't approve of. However, that means all his decisions are Kevin's decisions, not those of a system-optimizing power-gamer. There's points (All of Arc 2) where he wanders aimlessly. Goals seem foreign to him at points. What would you do if you were a musician, and the world fell apart and you no longer had an audience or band-mates. You'd be kinda lost. Kevin is. Arc 2 is a lot of Kevin not knowing what to do, going with the flow, and not being articulate enough to know that he doesn't know what to do. 1. Glitch — Alpha [Swedish] [Svenska]
********* For English readers: (Might as well add this information in English to save the lovely souls looking through our works some time) I probably won't translate this work, but I'm working on another translation within YA, if that's something you'd be interested in. This one's horror/thriller, so.. yeah. Maybe sometime in the future. Otilia works at a daycare when a child disappears. Seconds later, the child reappears, like nothing had happened. She thinks she's worked too much, but when disappearences start to happen all around the globe, she and her boyfriend realize that something has gone really, really wrong. When they get an idea about what could be the cause, no matter how unbelievable, they will do everything in their power to get the information to the right people. This was my first-ever-novel and my first gamelit story (though I had no idea that was a thing/genre at the time). This novel contains a lot of violence and blood and can be uncomfortable to read for some people. There is also some violence from, and off-screen violence to, children.
