TW FOR SUICIDE.
Angst and sadness ahead. Sorry in advance.
No.
This can't happen.
No.
His senpai.....
"Their gone, Yan.." Dr. Iplier said in a solemn tone. "We did every treatment possibly, but we couldn't save them."
No. They were suppose to live together forever. Just Yan and them. Forever.
"No! Senpais alright! You're lying!" he said angrily. He shoved the Doctor against the wall "D-don't lie to me!" Yan cried.
A pair of arms tugged him away from the shocked doctor. "Let me go! I want to see senpai!" he sobbed. Dark whispered into his ear.
"We could've saved them. We just needed more time!" Yan cried and fell to the floor. He buried his face into his hands. Dark sunk down and pulled Yan against his chest "M-My senpai.." he sobbed into Dark.
"W-what did I do to deserve this?" He asked in a broken voice. Dark didn't have any words to say to the lovesick man.
Dark replied quietly, clutching the smaller man.
Many days went by.
Many different murders heard on the news.
Yan coming home with blood on his ripped uniform.
He said nothing but stalked off to his room and stayed in there for days on end. None of the other egos could get through to him, not even Mark.
Dark was the oldest of the bunch and desperately tried to make everyone better. Sure, he had to keep his stoic look up, but he was deeply worried for Yan.
He was terrified that Yan would spiral into depression and never come out of it. At night, muffled sobs are always heard from his room. No one was allowed in there, except for Dark to comfort the youngest after a nightmare.

One night as Dark was comforting Yan, the red head said something unexpected.
"Dark, I wanna die. I wanna join my senpai." He sobbed into his pillow. If Dark had normal emotions, he would break down right now. He needed to be there for Yan.
Dark stayed with Yan the entire night, just to make sure he didn't try anything. Some days passed after Yan's episode and he still wasn't back to himself.
Whenever he came out of his room he was pale and his cheeks were sunken in. Dr. Iplier tried to get him to eat something, but it never worked. Yan would decline and grab a bottle of water before disappearing back into his room.
Then one day everything went down hill.
Dark was the only one home, besides Yan. He hadn't been out of his room all day and it was nearing 3 pm. Dark had a bad feeling in the pit of his gut as he got up from the chair. He set his book down on the table beside him and made his way to Yan's room.
Dark knocked on the door. Silence.
Dark said again, but louder.
Nothing.
Something was wrong.
Dark advised before kicking down the door. That's when the smell hit him.
Blood.
Yan was laying on the floor, a pool of blood around him. Dark rushed over and dropped to his knees, desperately trying to find a pulse on the Yandere.
Nothing.
A knife was in Yan's hand. Both of his wrists were slit. In his other hand was a note. Dark shakily took it and read it.
Dark,
I know you are the one who is going to find me. I'm so so so sorry that it had to be like this. I miss my senpai. I miss my (y/n) so much. I couldn't pair the pain anymore, Dark. It hurt to much. There was no way I could go on. It was all too much. I hope you can forgive me for this. I may be with (y/n) or I may be in hell. But, that's okay. I'd rather pay for everything I've done then wallow in all this pain any longer. Dark, you're my brother and I love you so much. Please don't think this was your fault ever. It wasn't. It was all mind. Tell everyone else I'm so sorry.

~Yan xx
Dark crumpled the latter in his hands and let out a loud sob. This was too much for the demon. He never thought he could cry over anything, but this was his breaking point. He let out a heart wrenching sob and clung onto Yan's body.
That's how the other egos found them. They couldn't bare the news. Everyone was devastated. But, Yan got what he wanted. He was with his senpai after all...
Sorry for the tears that may have been shed. I just thought of this and decided to write it.
Anyways...
Feel free to requests!
Bye!

The New World
An AI calling itself Schema has assimilated earth into its system. As a consequence, everyone gained access to status screens, power-ups, and skills. This AI turned these concepts from fiction to fact. It's easy to become intoxicated with leveling up and becoming stronger. To some, it's too good to be true like living out a dream. For Daniel, however, it's closer to a nightmare. He's in a bit of a predicament. Cracks in our dimensional fabric have unleashed terrifying beasts from dark, abyssal places. Schema organizes these cracks into dungeons, giving the native species of the planet a chance to fight back. Daniel finds himself trapped in one of these dungeons. Not long after, he discovers there's only one way out. Kill or be killed. (Note: I am currently editing the story and I'm uploading those edits. It will take time to do this, so if you find a huge shift in the story's formatting, that's why. I'm steadily hammering away at it, but it's going to take time. Thanks for your understanding, if you're offering it.) This is a lit-RPG inspired by the Fallout series of games and the Legend of Randidly Ghosthound. On the Road to Elspar (Book 1)
The year is 1329. The Huntress' War has entered its tenth year, inflaming competing nationalisms and pitting the Confederacy of Caldrein against one of the continent's superpowers, the Tenereian Union. Desperately outnumbered, the Confederacy has relied on the prowess of its famed Caldran mercenaries, with highly-trained and experienced warbands returning from foreign conflicts to the defense of their homeland, and it is on their backs that Caldrein has successfully mounted a valiant defense for a decade. But they are losing, and day by day, with all the grace of a sledgehammer, the vast Tenereian armies take one more bit of Caldran territory, one footstep at a time. Sixteen-year-old Neianne from the village of Caelon has submitted herself to Faulkren Academy, one of the centuries-old institutions established to train the next generation of Caldrein's elite soldiers of fortune, to learn the ways of wars for three years before embarking upon the defense of her country. Her dryad family once hailed from reclusive woodland communes isolated from Caldrein's complicated mainstream society, and her upbringing leaves the shy village girl unprepared to suddenly train alongside other apprentices from backgrounds as low as the dirty slums of Caldrein's cities and as high as the halls of aristocratic power. Yet the war is eroding the norms and traditions that the Caldran people have long considered part of their national mythos, and the tensions within the confederacy that have long simmered under the surface - race, class, community, identity - are slowly but surely dividing its people, and Neianne must grow and discover who she really is, even as the war that she is steadfastly training for comes to its inexorable end... On the Road to Elspar is a fantasy quest - a work of interactive fiction wherein readers get to vote on what happens next at critical junctures - that is the first entry in a story that follows Neianne of Caelon, which first began on July 20, 2016. Originally a three-part in medias res prologue to a larger story titled On the Elsparian Road, it was eventually decided that this section - which covers Neianne's three years at Faulkren Academy - become its own independent story due to length, structural, and accessibility reasons. Despite this being a reader interactive work of fiction, due to logistical and verification concerns, voting will only be counted on its thread on the forum Sufficient Velocity, where this story originally began. As such, the content here on Royal Road serves as a story-only archive. You are, of course, entirely welcome to enjoy On the Road to Elspar as a conventional work of fiction, just as you are welcome to comment, discuss, and provide critique. But if you would like to participate in the voting, then I would be honored to welcome you on Sufficient Velocity. To facilitate accessibility and to ensure the best reading experience, this story-only version of On the Road to Elspar will be updated at a periodic pace, even though further content exists, so as to not overwhelm new readers on Royal Road. If you enjoy this story, wish to binge it, and/or want to participate in voting immediately, you may of course read all additional content via the link provided above. This paragraph will be removed once the content on Royal Road catches up with what has already been posted in its original thread. Cover artwork by DreamSyndd.
