"Almost..." The girl had a hard time running through the forest, tightly holding onto her navigator, "I'm almost there..."

Just when the energy in her body was threatening to leave her, Aurora remembered why she was doing all of this in the first place.

This was for her own sake. Her reputation.

Her revenge. If she didn't run fast enough now, everything would be ruined.

"Finally." She breathlessly stopped in front of a big signpost with a series of numbers written on it.

The coordinates of the location for the last clue.

Don't ask her how, but Aurora managed to get ahold of the location of the last clue from the other pairs who heard of her pitiful situation.

After explaining how her partner suddenly decided to abandon Aurora, they felt empathy and decided to help her out.

Aurora looked down to her hands, the grin on her face was growing wider and wider.

And the next moment she changed the last digits of the coordination by carving out the last numbers with a sharp stone she found nearby.

Oh, she was crazy. Insane even.

Sweat dripped down her forehead from the physical exhaustion and the only thing she could think of was the anger and sadness she felt after hearing that Jungwon, the one that was supposed to be with her left her alone for Eunji.

When the paint of the sign was almost gone, she whipped out a permanent marker attempting to write new numbers. Aurora was prepared.

But to her misfortune, it didn't work as well as she wanted it to.

"It doesn't matter..." She reassured herself, glancing at the master piece in front of her, "It's enough to set them on a wrong track."

Throwing the marker into the nearby bush, she turned around to head back.

The satisfied grin never once left her lips.

"Only one clue is left!" I exclaimed happily, looking at all the plastic boxes we managed to attain.

We've been walking for a while now and Jungwon did a great job in leading the way with the navigational device.

Was this a good moment to tell him I liked him?

I shook my head, feeling nervous all of a sudden. I almost forgot that I wanted to confess my feelings to him.

Looking at his back, my gaze suddenly stopped at a big signpost in front of us.

"Look!" I ran ahead, stopping in front of it, as I glanced at the series of numbers.

That's when I frowned.

"Strange." Jungwon tilted his head, "The other coordinates had way more digits. It's going to be more difficult to find the clue."

"Right?" I agreed, but decided to shake off the weird feeling, "Just type it in. We don't have much time left if we want to beat Youngmin and Sunghoon."

Getting closer to the sign, I noticed a few more blurred numbers, scrawled unevenly, "Wait...There's more! Jungwon, look over here." The teachers were really not putting a lot of effort into this.

With the now completed coordination, we started walking after turning to the left. Instead of following any of the two given paths, the navigator told us to go right through the bushes and trees of the forest.

Taking a deep breath, I started to prepare myself.

For the long awaited confession.

I felt my palms becoming sweatier the more I hesitated.

This was it. I could feel it.

This was the perfect moment.

"Jungwon—"

"Shit." He suddenly swore, extending his hand forward with a frown.

That's when I felt a rain drop falling right onto my nose, my eyes widening, "Don't tell me..."

"It's raining."

And as if it couldn't get any worse, it started pouring buckets of water the next moment, causing Jungwon to grab my hand and run ahead. Leaving me no choice but to follow him impulsively.

"Let's go find a shelter!" I heard him say in a loud voice, but I could barely hear him because of the loud sound the rain drops every time they hit the ground.

"It's so loud." I shouted, trying to see what's in front of me. But my vision was blurred by all the rain, "Jungwon, where are we going?"

He didn't answer and I could feel the ground starting to get slippery, as I was having a hard time keeping my balance and steady steps.

I tried to look ahead, but all I could see were leaves and trees scraping past me.

Out of nowhere the path became steeper than before.

Everything happened too fast for me to progress that I couldn't even let out a scream, let alone stop it from happening.

From one moment to another, I suddenly let go of Jungwon's hand after I tripped over the root of a tree, falling face first at least a whole meter downwards.

Landing with a loud blare, I thought I would die right then and there.

And for a moment everything was quiet.

I could only hear the thrumming sound of the rain as I slowly tried to open my eyes.

"Eunji!" His worried voice helped me snap out of it. Jungwon immediately stepped down, holding out his hand for me to grab it which I gratefully did.

I tried to ignore the burning pain in my leg.

"Woah. That was...refreshing" I tried to calm him and myself down before letting out a groan.

I can't believe that that just happened to me.

"Are you okay?"

"Do I seem fucking okay to you?!" I let him pull me up as I looked around. I stopped caring about the rain a long while ago.

We were in the middle of nowhere.

"Let's go find a place to hide from the rain first."

I nodded to him.

Jungwon managed to bring us to a sort of cave not far from the place where my fall took place.

Letting myself drop to the ground, I let out a sigh before I tried to wring out all the water in my hair.

It was freezing cold, "This was intense." I tried to lift up the mood, looking outside just to see the rain not subsiding one bit. It was getting dark too.

The boy next to me stayed quiet.

"Luckily the wound isn't too deep." I continued, trying to brush off the dirt from my leg. My jeans were completely ripped. More ripped than before.

Taking off a few leaves, I gritted my teeth at the pain when my eyes widened at the bloody wound.

Even my hands were now covered by my own blood.

Apropos, the wound wasn't too deep

That's when I noticed him tensing up next to me as I realized what was going on.

"Jungwon...?"
