"Geocaching?" Eunji put down her bowl of cereal, "You mean something like scavenger hunt?"

"Basically." Youngmin nodded thoughtfully, "I looked it up yesterday. We have to find certain clues and objects hidden at certain locations by using a compass or something like that."

"And?"

"And each clue leads us to the next."

"There's a prize, right?" Sunghoon suddenly joined the conversation, finishing his breakfast as well.

"I hope there is." Eunji grinned competitively, glancing at the crowd of students outside of the cafeteria.

Raising an eyebrow, she tilted her head in curiosity, "I think there's something going on, guys. Let's go outside."

_

"The pairs are randomly selected?" Youngmin exclaimed in shock, looking at Sunghoon who was just as shocked. They both stared at the two big bowls containing little pieces of papers with numbers written on them.

Eunji just silently grabbed into both of the bowls, taking one draw for Jungwon as well. She was just hoping to pull the same number as him, but the probability was low.

"I have number 4!"

Eunji faintly heard Aurora say who was the center of a big group not far from her. Shrugging if off, she continued walking till she reached their bungalow.

"Open up. Police is here." I tried to change my voice to the lowest I could possibly do, knocking loudly on Jungwon's door, "I have to investigate—"

And the next moment the door opened, catching me off guard completely. I almost forgot the role I was in.

"Uh..." My voice was still exaggeratedly low as I hesitantly looked up causing my eyes to meet his.

Jungwon looked tired as he leaned against his door frame with one arm, tilting his head at me.

His hair was slightly messy and it made me think.

Was he sleeping?

"Did I wake you up?" My voice turned normal again as I took a step back. I only realized now that the distance between us was quite small.

"No." He lied, making me roll my eyes at him as I pushed past him to glance inside his room.

And to my surprise it was way neater and tidier than mine and Youngmin's room was.

"It's okay for me to enter, right?" I turned around to him to ask.

"I have nothing to hide..."

"Woah, did you call a cleaning service?" I exclaimed in surprise, as I entered his room, looking around.

"No." He simply chuckled, touching the back of his head in slight embarrassment at the compliment, "I just cleaned up a little."

Sitting on top of his bed, I patted the space next to me, signaling him to join me. He did.

"There's an activity later." I explained to him, quickly passing him his number, "Geocaching."

Jungwon nodded, courtly taking the piece of paper from my hand. It was as if he immediately knew what geocaching was, making me sulk in annoyance.

"Go ahead. Open it up." I nudged his side, praying in my head that he had the same number as me, "It's to find out who your partner is."

Please let it be 9.

Quickly he folded the piece open, his eyes slightly widening while my smile dropped.

"Four." He read it outloud, showing me his number with a shrug, "I wonder—"

"Aurora." I quickly cut him off. My face fell, "You are partners with Aurora."

There was it again. That weird feeling of disappointment mixed with jealousy and fear.

I was actually going to confess my feelings to him now.

But at the moment, I wasn't feeling like it anymore.

Shaking my head, I put on a weak smile.

I had to stop this childish jealousy of me.

It was just an activity. Just for today.

Just for a few hours.

It's not like I was going to lose him.

I was just overreacting.

"I hope my partner has a great sense of orientation." I stifled a laugh, huffing a breath afterwards.

I shouldn't ruin the mood, "Or else we will get lost..."

Jungwon just stayed quiet next to me while I was rambling. I felt embarrassed all of a sudden.

Why wasn't he saying anything?

"Do you want me to be partners with Aurora?" He suddenly asked, making my eyes widen in surprise.

"What?" I thought he was joking.

"Do you want me and Aurora to be partners?" He rephrased the question as if it would help me understand why he was asking me such thing.

"Why?" I looked down with a bitter smile, "It's not like it's going to change anything."

"So that's a yes." Jungwon sounded stoic as he stood up, probably to go find Aurora.

His partner.

"No."

Wait? Was that my voice just now?

Jungwon looked over his shoulder at me. He looked at me expectantly. As if he waited for an explanation.

"I don't want you to go with her." I balled my hands into fists, feeling embarrassed all of a sudden.

What was I doing?

"Alright." He put down his jacket and I caught the satisfied smile that was on his lips, "That's all I needed to hear."

"What?" I was still confused.

"Then we will go together. Let's be partners, Eunji."

"But—"

"I'd rather be eaten by a bear with you than her." He shrugged, turning around again as he was about to open his door, "What are you waiting for? It's almost time."

"You guys picked each other?" Eunji exclaimed in surprise, looking at the couple in front of her.

"It's fate." Youngmin wiggled her eyebrows, smiling from ear to ear as Eunji pretended to cringe.

"Let's go together then!" Eunji then suggested, causing her dear friend to nod enthusiastically, "Me and Jungwon decided to team up. The numbers are unimportant."

"What were your numbers?" Sunghoon asked.

"Mine was 4." Jungwon shrugged.

"I had 9!" Eunji nodded, looking to her partner with a smile, "Nobody is following the rules anyway. Let's go!"

Little did they know that there was someone listening to every single word they were saying. The usual friendly smile she would always have on her lips was replaced by a wrathful mien.

The seething soul was plotting something big. Something terrible driven by the anger she felt.

"I told you." She harshly wiped her ugly tears, ripping the piece of paper in her hands apart, "You are going to regret this."

On the ground were now the remaining and shredded pieces of her previous number.

4.

_

"Only 4 clues are left!"

"Let's figure out the next coordinates." Eunji jumped down from the tree, holding up a muddy plastic box with a proud smile on her face.

"Sounds good!" Youngmin exclaimed excitedly, "I think we will be the first ones to finish if we keep this up."

"Do you think so?"

"Yes!"

Youngmin glanced at Eunji and Jungwon who were both busy looking at the navigational device for the next coordinates.

She narrowed her eyes. Did Eunji confess her feelings yet? Eunji did say she was going to today, but judging from how they haven't announced their relationship, things haven't happened yet.

"Let's split up!" Youngmin impulsively suggested, causing everyone to look at her.

"Why?" Eunji blinked in surprise.

"Because me and Sunghoon don't like sharing." Youngmin grinned, looking to her boyfriend who was just confused as the rest was, "We will win the prize ourselves!"

And that's how Eunji and Jungwon were left alone.

"I can't believe them." The girl shook her head in disbelief, "They left us. Just like that!" The girl sulked, kicking away every stone that was in her way forcefully.

Jungwon just quietly laughed next to her.

_

"They haven't returned yet!" Youngmin hugged Sunghoon tightly, worry written across both of their faces, "We shouldn't have left them.."

"I'm sure they will find their way back." He tried to reassure her but at the same time he was just as concerned, "They have to."

It was slowly getting dark.

And there was no sign of both Eunji or Jungwon.

What happened?
