"What a fucking lie." Eunji suddenly felt breathless, looking at everything else except for the boy in front of her. She balled her fists trying her best not to seem too flushed.
But it was too late.
He already noticed, "But I didn't lie?" Jungwon's smile grew wider before he would laugh again.
"L-Look outside! The birds! The nature! T-Trees—There are so many beautiful things out there." Eunji blabbered, turning away from him.
"You are right..." Jungwon took a step closer to her, the distance between them became smaller.
Her heartbeat. It didn't slow down no matter what she did and she was sure he heard it.
"But nothing beats your beauty." Jungwon insisted, looking outside the same way she did, "I mean it. You know how bad of a liar i am."
Blood started rushing to her fingertips, her face, her ears, everything. Her pulse was coming in hot waves, causing everything else in her body to pulse.
The heat in her face didn't seem to lessen anytime soon either, "If you speak another word, I swear I won't work with you. I will quit." She spoke through gritted teeth.
One more word and she wouldn't be able to handle it.
"Just take my compliment already..."
"No."
"Why?"
"You are distracting me. Let's just do our job." Eunji looked over to the dressed up couple approaching them. Emily the Corps and Victor Van Dort from the Corpse Bride.
What a stunning couple.
"We'll be taking room 3." The girl, which Eunji recognized as Sangmi spoke with a warm smile, clinging onto her boyfriend's arm tightly, "Oh, by the way you two look so pretty together. So authentic!"
"Thanks." Eunji chuckled flusteredly, "Let me check if room 3 is available at the moment."
"Are there any snacks?"
"Of course! You can get them in front of the room." Eunji smiled back, opening the cash box, "How long do you guys plan on singing your heart out? All night?"
"An hour?" Sunoo, the boyfriend and the one who was dressed up as Victor raised an eyebrow, when his girlfriend interrupted him.
"2 hours!"

"Perfect." Eunji kept the smile on her face, taking the money before signalling Jungwon to lead the couple to their room, "Our bloodsucker over here will lead the way. Please don't get bitten and have a wonderful time!"
"We will!"
"This way." Jungwon slightly bowed, his arm was elegantly stretched out towards room 3 as he proudly showed his resplendent fangs.
Eunji chuckled.
He was taking his role more serious than she thought he would.
After about 2 hours it was starting to get dark and their job was slowly becoming boring.
They expected to at least be able to take a break and try out the karaoke rooms themselves, but all they did was standing outside, collecting money, informing the visitors about the time limit and refill the snack bar.
Since they didn't have any other members, there weren't any shifts, meaning that both Jungwon and Eunji had to sit through all 3 shifts.
"I thought we would get the chance to sing as well." Jungwon mumbled, stretching his arms from all the standing as he sighed.
His hair was now slightly messier than before, but he still looked beautiful in her eyes.
"Why? Are you good at singing?" Eunji put down her witch hat, yawning.
Jungwon didn't answer and just chuckled, before stepping outside to get some fresh air.
The girl followed him.
"Woah look! The moon!" Eunji exclaimed excitedly pointing at the glowing, heavenly body in the dark night sky.
"A full moon..." Jungwon raised an eyebrow, turning to look at the girl next to him.
"Wouldn't it be funny if I just turned into a werwolf? Like right now?"
"No, not at all." Jungwon shook his head, laughing, "I wouldn't want you to be my enemy.."
Eunji chuckled wholeheartedly, glancing at the boy next to her. For some reason she felt nervous seeing him dressed up like this. And with the moon shining behind him, the situation started to feel unreal to her.
"Do you think werewolves exist?" She tried to distract herself, looking at the moon in front of her again.
"I'm sure they do. If there are vampires, there must be werewolves too." The boy nodded thoughtfully, "You know, I actually was hesitant about coming here. Since it would be pretty risky. Especially because I was dressed up as a vampire on top of that."

"But it does feel liberating, doesn't it? Not having to hide yourself for once." The girl grinned, putting her arm over the boy's shoulder who nodded in agreement.
"By the way..." Eunji felt nervous all of a sudden, clearing her throat, "Did you and Aurora talk? Was it important?"
The boy looked confused at first but it soon struck him, "I guess...you could say so."
"What was it about?"
"Nothing."
Eunji looked down, feeling her heart tightening a little.
"I see." She was a lot more upset than she thought she would be.
Standing next to each other in silence, Eunji couldn't help but sigh.
Suddenly the couple from earlier exited the karaoke room 3, giggling and laughing while cheering loudly with their drinks still in their hands.
Non-alcoholic drinks.
"Thank you!" Sangmi, as Emily the Corpse bowed 90 degrees, flustering both Eunji and Jungwon before the couple walked off.
Right before they were out of sight, Eunji heard Sunoo say, "Did you see Ms. Vamp? Aurora seemed all innocent and sweet before but she actually is quite something~"
The witch's face dropped slightly, but she managed to shake it off. Aurora was dressed up as a vampire?
"What's wrong?" Jungwon asked next to her and she was sure he heard it as well.
"It's..." Eunji suddenly felt childish worrying about something as trivial as this. She looked down, "Alright, I'm going to honest, but don't you dare laugh at me."
Jungwon smiled, casually taking off his blazer to put it around her shoulders after he sensed that the girl was freezing because of him, "I promise, I won't."
"My self-esteem has been hitting rock bottom lately." She suddenly felt all small as she tightly held onto his blazer, "It's...I know, It's ridiculous, but I can't help but worry and be conscious about the smallest things. Especially about myself. There's so much I want to change and I'm starting to feel envious of others..."
"Because of Aurora?"
Eunji's eyes widened, "How did you know?"
Jungwon didn't answer and just listened to her attentively.
"Of course, It's not Aurora's fault, but I just can't stop feeling uneasy for some reason." Eunji confessed honestly, hating that vulnerable side of her.
"Eunji?"
"Yeah?"
"You are perfect. Perfect the way you are." Jungwon's silken voice made her eyes widen, "Never feel this way about yourself because of someone like her."
"Seriously, what is up with you?!" Eunji cried out, covering up her face to hide it from him, "You've been saying weird things ever since the party preparations..." Her heartbeat was picking up speed again.
"I mean it."
She heard him say, before she could feel his cold hand wrap around her wrist.
Gently, he put down her hands so he could fully look at her.
The moon light was barely bright enough for him to see the outlines of her eyes, her eyebrows, her nose and her lips.
What? The boy thought, shocked at his own thoughts.
Jungwon gulped visibly, feeling how his own heart was pounding against his chest.
What was he doing right now?
Eunji continued to look at him in confusion, her eyes were opened widely and her lips were slightly parted.
Her lips.
Jungwon turned away, his hand started to shake as he could feel her warmth from still holding her wrists.
The boy blinked and before he knew it, all of his senses started playing tricks on him.
He just didn't understand.
How can someone so beautiful ever feel insecure about herself?
"Jungwon...?"
He could hear her euphonic voice say faintly, but the thoughts in his head were too loud for him to concentrate on what she was saying.
Eunji wasn't dense. She knew exactly what kind of atmosphere was starting to unfold.
And instead of running away from the overwhelm of her feelings, she decided to close her eyes before intertwining her hand with his.
So the boy started nearing her, his hand was now placed on the side of her face, making it easier for him to gently pull the girl closer to him.
And the next moment a firework of feelings fulfilled both of their aching heads and hearts.
In a way only the two of them themselves could describe.
