"Why aren't you answering...?" Eunji's confident voice turned all small, when he continued to stay quiet.

There was it again.

That conflicted expression of his.

He looked like he was contemplating his answer and it made Eunji even more sceptical.

This is why she was called to the principal earlier...Jungwon thought, the frown on his face deepening.

"Jungwon, I need you to tell me the truth." She tried her best to prevent her voice from breaking, "You are the only one who...knew."

"You already know the answer, don't you?" He sounded unapologetic as he answered, just when Eunji thought he wasn't going to.

"What?"

The boy's cold gaze made her teary eyes widen, "Why are you asking me if it's obvious who did it?"

"Jungwon..." Eunji's breath hitched, as she shook her head in denial, "Are you serious right now?"

"Go ahead and tell them that I violated the rules as well. I was with you after all." He looked away, casually putting his hands into his pockets, "I don't really care."

"Are you kidding me?"

"I'm not." He stared into her eyes, "You dragged me here, knowing that I ratted you out. Why are you acting shocked?"

"You...son a bitch." Eunji muttered under her breath, unable to hide her shock. All this time she tried to deny it herself and continued to believe in him.

How could she be so stupid and trust him to keep it a secret in the first place? It was Jungwon they were talking about.

Turning around, the boy was just about to leave, his face colder than usual, "If that's all, I will be leaving."

"Jungwon."

He stopped in his tracks, when he heard her surprisingly firm voice.

"What's the deal with you? In all seriousness, I...just don't get it. I don't get you."

Jungwon started hearing footsteps behind him.

"I don't know what I did to you..." And before he knew it, she stood in front of him again, "but I don't think I deserved this."

The boy didn't answer — He couldn't. Jungwon was busy staring at her infuriated self. And he could see her figure trembling from anger.

"Seriously...Why do you hate me so much?"

There was not a trace of anger in her voice, but despair instead.

Eunji just didn't understand why in the world he would do that to her. Yes, they weren't on the best terms, but even then she didn't expect him to actually expose her just like that.

Jungwon now tried to calm his breathing down, still unable to answer. He started to feel nervous, now that she was eyeing him so intensely.

That's when it hit him.

The girl in front of him wasn't trembling from anger, but from coldness.

His coldness.

"Eunji, I—." Was the only thing he said, as she turned away.

"You know what, leave it. I think I'm better off not knowing your answer." The girl scoffed once again, huffing a breath as if she was trying to stop her tears from flowing, "Y-You are lucky then."

"What do you mean?"

"You don't have to see my face for the next two weeks." Eunji chuckled bitterly, shaking her head slightly, "Since you got me suspended by snitching."

Jungwon tried his hardest to seem unbothered, but the frown on his face was too obvious.

"Before you leave..." Jungwon grabbed her wrist, stopping her from turning around. It was almost too natural at this point.

"Please change your locker password."

He spoke, making Eunji stop in her tracks

"What?" There was disbelief in her voice, as her eyes widened to their fullest, "W-What do you mean?"

Did he know?

That her locker password actually was the date of the day he got transferred to this school?

The day he first introduced himself to her class?

She felt her whole face warm up from embarrassment, as she took a step backwards, "That's none of your business."

Eunji broke free from his grip, finally leaving.

Running back inside the school, she tried to cover up her burning face miserably, while internally cursing to herself the entire time.

"That's so...embarrassing." Eunji shut her eyes close tightly. Why did life always have to go wrong for her?

Ignoring everyone's curious glances after entering the classroom, she shortly nodded to Youngmin with a sad smile and took her stuff, before approaching her locker with hesitant steps. She was still beyond embarrassed and internally thanked the gods for helping her not see Jungwon for the next two weeks.

After this incident Eunji wasn't sure if she could ever step in front of him ever again. Jungwon was going to feel even more uncomfortable around her, after knowing that the day she first met him was her password.

0902. That should be good enough. She thought after randomly pressing numbers to change her password, biting her lower lip worriedly. She would leave school soon after.

Little did Eunji know, that all her efforts— the concerns that were tormenting her in this very moment, were merely results of a misunderstanding between her and Jungwon.

And little did she know, that even now she was being watched unknowingly.

Speaking of Jungwon and her, the boy was now on his way back to the classroom and was completely clueless about all the actions and safety measures the girl was making.

Entering the classroom eventually as well, he could see everyone being gathered in their little groups, gossiping and making up rumours.

Already? he frowned, trying to keep his composure as usual.

"I think she confessed her feelings to him..."

"Eunji?"

"Yeah"

"To Who?"

"Jungwon, of course!"

"Do you think she was rejected?"

"Duh, that's why she left school earlier."

Why did they have to talk so loudly? It wasn't like Jungwon was trying to listen. The boy frowned, shaking his head in annoyance.

Now that he thought about it, he's been frowning a lot more these past weeks.

And it would be because of Eunji every time.

He never thought he would be this bothered about making Eunji hate him, but now that it happened, he was starting to feel bad.

Shit. She's...on my mind again. Jungwon realised wide-eyed, quickly trying to distract himself.

His eyes would wander around the room aimlessly when suddenly his gaze stopped at one of his classmates.

The person was already looking at Jungwon with a wide, mocking grin, before he stood up and left the room quietly, almost inviting Jungwon to follow him.

It was then when Jungwon recognised that classmate's bracelet. It was the same one the "stranger" wore, when he took clothes out of Eunji's locker.

"I see how it is." The smirk on Jungwon's lips broadened, as he stood up at once, putting everyone's attention upon himself.

There was no way I'm going to let you get away with this, a sinister thought crossed the boy's mind.
