Days went by and life has never been more peaceful for Eunji.
At least that's what she's been trying to tell herself.
Yes, things were still as awkward between her and Jungwon as before, but at least it wasn't affecting her anymore and on top of that her grades were slowly starting to improve.
My efforts are finally paying off! Eunji squealed internally, staring at her exam with the widest grin ever.
Her sleepless nights were finally rewarded.
"Woah, Eunji...How does it feel to not be in the class' last 10 for once?" Youngmin teased, smiling at the girl next to her. She was proud, knowing how much Eunji improved in just a few weeks.
"Great. It feels great." Eunji was too immersed in her happiness to attack her friend for the playful remark, that she continued to stare at the piece of paper in her hands.
"Don't act weird. Jungwon is here." Youngmin suddenly whispered and stood up, making Eunji sit up straight almost immediately.
Eunji glared at her friend and shook her head, before turning away nervously.
Glancing to the side, her gaze suddenly met his.
The girl's eyes widened.
There was this weird expression on his face. The one she couldn't read and didn't understand.
Not that she could read him in the first place, it's just that Jungwon never had that kind of expression before.
And as someone who liked to watch him from time to time, this was rare.
The boy seemed conflicted, almost distressed.
Was something going on? Eunji frowned, turning away again. She didn't realise that she had been staring at him for a little while now.
When Youngmin went back to her seat, Eunji decided to shake her head, shaking away the weird feeling that's been starting to lay out.

Things were going so well for her, there's no need to worry about something as trivial as such.
"Eunji." The teacher's stern voice suddenly called for her, making her turn to the front, "The principal's asking for you. Please go to him instantly."
Eunji blinked in surprise, but nodded hesitantly.
She could feel her classmates' gazes pierce holes through her back, as she made her way through the classroom.
Did she forget about one of her duties again?
Eunji shrugged, not thinking much of it.
"You may enter."
The principal's croaky voice made me cringe, as I opened the door.
"You called for me?" I tried to put on my polite-adult voice, but failed miserably due to my voice cracking.
What a great start.
"Mind to explain to me why you've been stealing the janitor's keys?"
My eyes widened, as my heart stopped beating for a second. Was I hearing things right?
"You've been visiting the rooftop. Even though it's strictly prohibited to do so." The adult continued, making me gulp, "You should know that, right Eunji? As the class representative."
I was fucking busted.
"I'm so sorry, I—"
"Two weeks. You will be suspended for two weeks."
"What?" I blurted out, "Two weeks?"
"I thought I could trust you, Eunji. You've been doing so well as the class president, helping our school..." His voice trailed off, "You are lucky that you won't lose your scholarship, because of this."
"Does that mean...I'm no longer class president?" I felt my heart drop.
"Yes."
I nodded, looking down. My eyes were dull.
When I thought things were going so well, there had to be something ruining it all.
"I hope you come back as a better person and reflect on your actions." He continued, making me look up, "We will inform your parents later and invite them over for a—"

"There's something I need to know." I spoke, my voice sounding strange all of a sudden,
"Who ratted me out?"
The girl's eyes were filled with rage, as she walked through the hallways, heading towards her classroom where all her other classmates were still at.
Class has just ended, meaning that the break was just about to start.
"Hey, Eunji!" Youngmin smiled upon spotting her friend, but Eunji couldn't care less, walking past her with fast steps.
She stopped at her own seat, coldly staring at the boy who was busy packing his stuff.
"We..need to talk." Eunji's quiet voice, made Jungwon look up to her in surprise.
His eyes would widened even more when he glanced back into her enraged eyes.
Eunji looked angrier than she was at the rooftop back then.
When Jungwon didn't answer, she grabbed his wrist, forcefully dragging him outside the classroom, as the whole class watched the two in awe.
"Youngmin, what's going on?!" A bunch of classmates crowded around Youngmin, who was just as confused as them.
"I have...no idea."
flashback
"Who ratted me out?" The girl's voice sounded unusual low all of a sudden. There was no way she got caught without someone telling the principal, she was sure of that.
Obviously hesitating, the principal cleared his throat, "I can't tell you that."
"Please. I need to know." Eunji's voice sounded almost threatening, as she breathed out deeply, trying to calm herself down.
"It was a boy. From your class. That's all I can tell you."
flashback end
"Eunji...What's going on?" Jungwon spoke, freeing himself from the girl's grip. He didn't protest when she first grabbed his wrist and dragged him outside, but they've been walking for a while now.
Stopping behind the school with no students whatsoever, Jungwon feared that she would murder him with her own hands, now that it was just them.
And judging from her angry situation, he actually deliberated it.
Eunji looked down, not giving him the chance to see into her devastated face. She knew that this was going to stir up a lot of rumours in her class, but she didn't care.
A boy.
From her class.
The only one who saw her at the rooftop...it had to be him.
"Jungwon." Her hands were balled into fists, "It was you, right?"
"What do you mean?" He frowned, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion.
Leaning down slightly, he tried to catch a glimpse of her face, "Eunji...Are you okay?"
Scoffing the girl finally looked up to him, glaring into his surprised eyes, "You...told the principal about the rooftop incident, am I right?"
