The girl took a deep breath, feeling the refreshing air filling up her lungs slowly, "The perks of being the class president..." She grinned, looking down to the keys in her hands.

Despite the rooftop being completely forbidden (for many obvious reasons), Eunji considered it her favourite place in the entire school.

It wasn't just the view or the fresh air. It was the adrenaline she felt every time she walked into the teacher's room, pretending to have some kind of class-president-issue and sneaking away the janitor's keys to open up the door to the rooftop, that made her like it as much as she did.

Or maybe it was because no one was around? She didn't know.

"It's so peaceful." Eunji mumbled, sitting down, "But so damn cold." She shuddered the moment later, hugging herself and miserably trying to cover herself up with her arms. Why didn't she take her jacket with her?

What a rookie mistake. She thought and cursed under her breath.

That's when she suddenly heard foot steps, making her eyes widen immediately.

Was it the janitor?

Crouching down hurriedly, Eunji hid behind one of the bigger cardboard boxes, praying to herself that she won't get caught.

But then again it didn't make sense.

She could've sworn that there was no one else when she first went up here.

And no one opened the door to the rooftop either, so how did that person get on here without Eunji noticing?

Peeking behind the cardboard box, she tried to catch a glance of the person, when suddenly a wave of coldness hit her right in the face.

No way, Eunji thought, jumping out of her hideout instantly.

"Jungwon?" She exclaimed with sparkling eyes, "What are you doing here?"

His eyes widened, "Eunji?"

"How did you get on here?" Eunji continued, approaching him with fast steps, as he was still in shock, staring at her, "The door is closed."

"I..." Jungwon touched the back of his head nervously, looking away from the girl. Was he keeping a secret? She eyed him suspiciously.

Eunji couldn't help but cross her arms, "You do know that this place is forbidden, right?"

"But...you are here too."

She froze.

Now it was her turn for her eyes to widen. He got her.

"Y-Yeah, but I'm the class president." Eunji weakly excused herself, "I just wanted to check who among you would break the rules first. Honestly, I would have never thought that you would be the first one."

He is never going to buy it. Eunji internally thought, already thinking of a way to run away and erase his memories.

"I see." Jungwon raised an eyebrow with a smug smile, making Eunji stop in her tracks once again. It was as if he got all of his confidence back, "So you wouldn't mind it, if I went to the principal right now and turn the two of us in?"

Nervously, she replied, "I-I mean-"

"There is my answer." The boy confidently nodded, turning around again, "Eunji, for my sake and yours: Let's pretend we didn't see anything."

The girl blinked in surprise. Why was he so ruthless?

How could he not have any empathy for her?

Eunji looked down and sighed, having no choice but to agree.

If the school found out she had been hanging around the rooftop, she wouldn't only lose her title as class president, but also lose her scholarship and right to visit the school.

That's how strict the school was, "Alright."

"Also, one more thing." The boy turned around to her, tilting his head. His eyes were darkly glancing down at her, as she rapidly nodded as response.

He was striking up a conversation first! She internally thought, already clearing her throat and putting on a smile, "What is it, Jungwon?"

Was he going to ask her for advice? Because he finally acknowledged her as their class president?

Was he going to apologise to her for his cold behaviour?

Or was he going to actually ask her to be his friend?

Hundreds of possibilities popped into her mind.

"To make things clear..." Jungwon started, taking another step towards her. His intense stare continued to pierce through the girl, as her smile slowly disappeared. The look in his eyes made it obvious that it was none of the options she thought of a moment ago.

Gulping, Eunji took a step backwards, when he abruptly stopped, causing her to stop as well. One more step and her back would have touched the railing of the rooftop.

"Just because I agreed to be your seat mate doesn't mean I want to get to know you." His voice was cold. Way colder than the current weather temperature, as she blinked in utter surprise.

"What?" She unconsciously blurted out in disbelief.

"I didn't sit there because I personally wanted to." He added, making her eyes widen, "Don't get any ideas."

Well, ouch.
