I made new friends! Did you hear me? I Ella Hernandez made 2 new friends. Can you believe it?

They are both in my American government class.

Flashback

I'm so hungry. I'm gonna die.

I slump on my armchair. Why did I not eat that third sandwich on my pack lunch? Why?!

"Hey" someone tap my shoulder.

I look at her. Her brown eyes are little bit slanted like she is a mixed of asian and western descent. She has those light skin with scattered freckled on her cheeks. Her button nose is so cute.

"I am Chrisna but you can call me Chris. Do you want some fries?"

She's offering me food!

"No girl she looks like she needs more than fries. I have chicken nuggets. Here." The other girl beside Chris offered. She has those slim and elongated face with prominent cheekbones,narrow nose. pouty lips and hazel eyes.

"By the way I am Farisa but you can call me Sang. And yes I am middle eastern."

Middle eastern so she's from Kansas?

"Come on take at least two. We don't want you to pass out in the middle of the class." Sang said.

"Thank you new friends!" I exclaimed. They both look at each other and shrugged their shoulders.

End of flashback

I am lying on the couch on Gideon's study telling him how I made new friends while he graciously type another paper that I need to pass tomorrow.

"Are you sure love that you did not force them to be your friend? They agreed willingly?" He ask for the Nth time.

"Yes Gideon. They agreed willingly and voluntarily." I assure him.

Did they?

Gideon looked liked he doesn't believe me at all.

"In fact I invited them here in our house tomorrow to do our project and they agreed." I proudly said.

"Voluntarily?" Gideon ask skeptically.

"Of course! Do you think I will kidnap them?!" I exclaimed.

Gideon glance at me saying "Knowing you love? It's not impossible."

"Wow. Thanks for the vote of confidence Gideon." I sarcastically replied.

"You're welcome love." He replied while still typing my paper.

I stand up to go out of his study. Arguing with Gideon made me hungry. I am craving some blueberry cheesecake.

"By the way the spacing should be 1.5 Gideon!" I shouted. As I close the door I hear him grumbled "No fucking way! it is not written here."

I may or may not forgot to tell him about that one requirements...hihihi🤭

I skip towards the stairs. I forgo using the elevator so I can at least stretch my legs but If I am with Gideon I have no choice but to use it because he doesn't want me to get tired.

Thinking made me tired so should I just stop using my brain to reserve energy?

I walk towards the kitchen and saw G cooking something in a big pot.

The other staff are cleaning and organizing the kitchen.

I tap his shoulders and said

"Hey G?"

He got startled and looked around. He smiled when he saw me and said

"Yes Miss Ella do you need something?"

"Do we have some blueberry cheesecake?"

"As of the moment no but I can bake you one."

This is my fault. I should have told him in advance.

"No no need. I'll just buy it outside. Just focus on cooking since it is already dinner time!"

"But Miss Ella. I ca-" G protested

"No buts G. Just finish cooking. Bye!"

I heard a collective "bye miss Ella." From the other staff.

I went to our room and get the card Gideon gave me. I use the elevator this time walking down that stairs takes time. I wonder if Gideon can convert the stairs to escalator.

I went out of the front door. The MIB outside got startled clearly not expecting someone goes out at this time.

"Goodevening Miss Ella." They greeted.

"Hi..uhmm can we go to the nearest bakery or sweets shop?"

"As you wish ma'am. What car do you want to use?"

"The car that is working?" I replied.

"Of course ma'am. Just a minute."

One of the black SUV parked in front of me.

One of the MIB opened the door.

I entered the car and buckle my seatbelt. 2 MIB was with me and I did not notice another set of car followed us.

"Miss Ella if I may ask. Does sir Rosen-Hower know you left the mansion?"

"Nope." The car screechingly halt.

The driver looked at me wide eyed and said "No notification at all Miss Ella?"

I shake my head.

I heard him drop the F-bomb but he restart our journey to our destination.

I cheered internally when we stop outside the shop.

I did not wait for them to open my door. I run inside the bakery. The smell of freshly baked goodies welcomed me.

I look outside and I signal one of the MIB to come inside.

He entered and I gave him one of the pink tray.

I get all the bread that I think taste delicious. So in short I take all of it.

A chill run through my back when I heard his voice. "You're enjoying yourself aren't you love?"

I slowly turn around and Gideon is standing behind me. His arms are crossed to his chest and his beautiful eyes narrowed. He is wearing a white shirt that is useless since it did not hide anything. He might as well be shirtless. He match his white shirt with grey sweat pants and his Birckenstock black slippers

"I love you?" I said sheepishly hoping to ease his irritation.

He uncross his arm and sigh in defeat and said

"You'll be the death of me Ella I swear."

He walk towards me and pinch my cheek.

"Ow! Ow! I am sorry Gideon. I just got excited in buying blueberry cheesecake." I mumbled. Huhuhu. My poor cheeks.

"If a cake and me are both drowning who will you save?" Gideon ask.

"Duh! It's no brainer Gideon of course the cake! You can swim but the cake can't!"

I hear someone snickers at our back but it suddenly stop when I heard a slap and an "ow" followed.

I swear Gideon's expression darkened

"Good to hear that your priorities are straight Love." He grumbled. He grab the tray that I am holding and nudge me to continue buying the food that I want.

I saw the blueberry cheesecake in one of their fridge. The seller ask me how many slice I want but before I answer Gideon told her we will get the whole cake.

I tried to protest but Gideon reminded me that one slice is not enough which may or may not be true.

To the owners delight I bought almost all the pastries and bread that she sells.

I thank her and promised that I'll buy again.

I pass 4 bags worth of pastries to the MIB to placed it inside the car.

I can't sit still. I am excited to eat the cake.

We arrive at the house just in time for dinner.

I was planning to open the box of the cake when Gideon sternly said

"Dinner first before your cake love."

I stare at him wide eyed and said

"I did not even say anything!"

"I can hear your thoughts from here Love. After you eat the food I placed on your plate then you can eat your precious cake."

Is Gideon Jealous? To a cake nontheless?

And is he a mind reader now? Vampires are mind reader like that character I read in a book. Is it Edmundo or Eduardo? I am sure it is one of those two names.

A realization struck me.

Gasp!

Gideon is a hybrid! A werewolf and Vampire! That's why he can read my thoughts, he's strong and I swear I sometimes see him mindlink one of the MIB's.

Mystery solved! I swear I am getting smarter everyday.

I don't know why but I think Gideon served me more food than the usual.

Gasp! Does he want to eat my cake without me knowing?!

He doesn't even like cakes!

I narrow my eyes at him while chewing my food. Pissed off that I figure out his plan. His eyes comically widen and his fork is midway to his mouth when he saw me glaring at him.

"Tell me Gideon. Are you my mate?"

It is now or never. I need to know.

He slowly chew his food and washed it down with water before answering seriously.

"Yes Love. You are my mate."

"Aha! I knew it!" I exclaimed.

"Can you transform to your other form?" I ask excitedly.

"I can't love." He answered.

"But why! I pinky swear I will not tell anyone!" I hold out my pinky finger to seal my promise.

"We can only transform if Halley's comet passby the earth." He solemnly said.

"What?! So you mean no fluffy wolf transformation?" I ask.

He nodded

"Until when?" Maybe tomorrow this comet will come. Wait I'll search. I got up and run towards the library. It is on the 1st floor but on the other wing of the house.

I grab the space encyclopedia of Gideon.

I found the page dedicated to Halley's comet.

"It will reach the earth every 76 years. It last came to earth on 1986." I close the book and run back to the dining area.

I sat down and told Gideon to add 1986 and 76.

"2062." He answered.

"What! 2062?! I am not sure if I am even alive at that time!" I exclaimed

"What kind of werewolf are you to transform every 76 years!?" Gideon just shrugged his shoulder and continue eating as if not bothered by the information he unleashed just now.

I look at the staff asking for a silent confirmation and they nod solemnly at me.

What a bummer. I'll just eat the cake to drown my disappointment.

I told Chris and Sang that I'll meet them at the cafe near the school at 10 am since they are living in the dorms then we will drive to my house.

I told Gideon my plan and I told him I want to use a normal car.

A white alfa romeo SUV welcomed me on the driveway. I don't think that "normal" is included to Gideon's vocabulary.

"Tell me Mr. Shades that this car is cheap." He did not reply. Instead he just opened the door.

I see my friends standing at the designated area seemingly peering on the yellow cabs that pass them.

The car stopped in front of them and I saw them step back.

"Lower the window please."

The window lowered. I waved at them.

They both squint their eyes not believing that I am inside this car.

They both run to the car and I excitedly open the door to let them in.

"Goodmorning!" I greeted them.

"Morning" they both greeted back in return.

"Wow Ella. We did not expect that you drive this kind of car." Chris exclaimed.

"I don't. The MIB drive for me. Gideon might keel over if he learned that I drove a car."

"Gideon?" Sang asked.

"I did not mention him before?" They both shake their heads.

"You'll meet him later if he is not busy."

"Where to Miss Ella?" The MIB asked.

"To the house please. Thank you!"

He nodded then we start our drive back to the house.

"You have a driver too?" Chris exclaimed.

"Yes. They are always with me whenever I go out even on school."

Sang curiously roam her eyes outside the window but she did not say anything.

We arrive at the gate of Gideon's massive estate.

As we travel through the driveway Sang ask nervously.

"Oh my god. We are not trespassing Ella right?"

"Trespassing? What's that?"

I peer at the driver seat and nervously ask the MIB.

"Are we trespassing?!"

"No Miss Ella. Trespassing is if you enter a private property without the owner's permission."

I got nervous for nothing.

"Next time Don't use big word Sang it made me nervous!"

The imposing fountain welcomed my friends which made them gasp. They parked right at the front door and I can see Albert standing in front waiting for us.

The MIB opened our door and my friends hesitate to go out of the car still unsure if we are doing anything illegal.

I walk to Albert and greeted him.

"Hi Albert! This are my Sang and Chris."

Albert bow at them and said. "Nice to meet you ma'am I am Albert Miss Ella and Mr. Rosen-Hower's butler. If you need anything don't hesitate to ask the staff."

"Uh. Thank you I guess." Chris replied.

"Come on let's go in and eat breakfast. I am sure you are hungry right?"

I did not wait for their answer. I let Albert open the door. My friends vocalize their appreciation on the way through the dining area.

"Wow Ella. You're house is so beautiful and grand! Are you sure we'll not get kicked out if we stay here?" Sang ask. Still eyeing one of the 5 massive Chandelier in the first floor.

Does she want it too? Maybe she can help me steal it and sell it. I'll ask her later. It's not like Gideon will notice a missing 6 feet and 5 feet wide Chandelier on his ceiling.

"I hope not. Come on the food is ready."

I told them to sit on the opposite side. They both sat down on the chair and fidgeting. Still not comfortable.

G went out of the kitchen and said "Miss Ella I decided to serve some brunch if you don't mind since it is past 11 am already."

"Sure G. You prepare a dessert right? Because Gideon hide my blueberry cheesecake last night or maybe he ate it while I was sleeping." I pouted at G.

"I did no such thing love."

Gideon exclaimed. He strut towards the dining area wearing black shirt and pants with his fluffly black slippers that I bought for him.

Obviously he just came out of the shower.

"Are you sure? It has 4 big slices Gideon I only eat 2 last night. Where are the other 2?" I whined.

He nod at G and G bow in return. G went back to to the kitchen running. Afraid that he might get in to the crossfire between Gideon and I.

"You ate 2 slices this morning Love." He calmly replied.

Oh yeah I did. I forgot.

How did he know that? I thought he was sleeping?

"I told you to not eat cake in the morning because you might get stomachache like last time."

"That's different! I did not know that the cake was expired already."

Gideon is looking incredulously at me like he can't believe that he is dating a girl who eats expired food.

"In my defense the taste is still the same!"

"Love the cake was so spoiled you can even make a vinegar out off it."

"It was raspberry flavored! Of course It was supposed to be sour." I rebut

"Sir. The guest are waiting." Albert interrupted.

"What guest?" Me and Gideon look at my two friends who are gaping at us.

I smiled sheepishly at them and Gideon just cleared his throat and smooth out his shirt.

"Uhm..this is Gideon my uhm."

"James Rosen-Hower Ella's boyfriend It's nice to meet you."

Gideon shake both of my friends hand in greeting.

To dispel any awkward silence Gideon signal the staff to serve our food.

They placed various food. G outdid himself.

"Eat whatever you like!" I encouraged.

As usual even if we have visitor Gideon still serve my food first before his.

After we ate Gideon said

"I'll take my leave love. If there's anything you need I am in my study okay?" I nodded and he kiss my forehead before leaving us.

"Let's go to the library so we can start our project." They both stand up and followed me silently.

Where is the library again?

"Just go straight Miss Ella." Albert instructed.

"I know where it is Albert!" Liar.

I open the massive door of the library and I hear my friends gasp again.

In the middle of the room there is a sofa bed and a table that we can use.

Sang and Chris gingerly sit down on the couch and look at me in disbelief.

''Ella I swear you are living THE life."

Sang exclaimed.

"What do you mean the life? Of course I am alive and not dead."

"You're rich, you're boyfriend is hot. You have everything you need at the tip of your fingers!" Chris exclaimed.

"Well I am not rich. It is all Gideons. I am just a free loader in this house. Gideon has no fever so I don't know why did you say he's hot. And Everything I need is not on the tip of my fingers I sometimes need to walk or ride a car to get it. It is sometimes veru tiring."

They both look at me like I came from another planet after they heard my explanation.

"Did I say something wrong?" I ask.

They just sigh and shake their head.

They brought out their laptop and I bring out the American civil war book that I found in this library.

"Ella do you know your Wi-Fi password? We need to connect to the internet to search."

Wi-Fi?

"Uh yeah. I totally know that. Uhm wait a second."

I open my phone and speed dial Gideon's number.

"Love."

"Gideon!" I whisper.

"What?" He whisper's back.

"What is a Wi-Fi and how do I get the password?"

"Wi-Fi is the internet. Do they need to connect? And why are we whispering?"

"I don't know." I whispered.

I hear him chuckle from the other line.

"One minute love. I'll go there."

"Okay!" I raise a thumbs up in front of the phone then I realize Gideon will not see it.

"Love."

I heard him enter the library. He sat beside me.

He gave them a sticky note and said.

"That is the Wi-Fi pasword of the whole estate for today"

"Only for today?" Sang voiced out.

"Yes for security reasons." She nodded and proceed to type on her computer.

"So love what are you in charge of?"

He ask.

"Well I am in charge of the introduction and I need to search the all the important events in the civil war while Chris will search about the problems and debate occurs on the whole period while Sang will summarize the pro's and con's of the war and the conclusion."

"Let's get started so you can finish early."

Gideon bless his heart help us. I ask him if he brought his laptop and he replied. "Do you think I conveniently bring out my laptop out of my ass love if needed?"

I look at him sternly and said "I hope you're not doing that on your free time Gideon. It's unsanitary."

He roll his eyes.

Albert entered the room and he is holding a laptop. He is really a heaven sent.

I look at my two friends to check if they are busy and whispers to Gideon's ear

"You mindlink Albert didn't you?" Gideon just nodded.

I knew it!

I use the books to search while the rest of them use the internet. I write it all in my trustee yellow pad. I Use 10 pages back to back and I'm still not done.

I heard Gideon chuckle silently beside me. I got curious and saw him messaging someone.

"Who's that?" I ask.

"You're brother."

Then his phone rings.

"Really? Are you sure? We are half way finish already."

He shouted then end the call.

"How did he know we are doing my project?"

Gideon smirks and said "I sent a picture."
