Chapter 41: Bitten fruit

Floating on the pool using one of those pizza shaped floating device that Gideon buys for me since he is secretly afraid that I'll drown even in a 3ft pool.

I am absorbing all the vitamin D that I could get. For strong bones if I am correct or maybe not.

"Love."

I almost capsized when I heard Gideon's voice.

I slowly lift my head to see him glaring at me. Even if my eyesight is bad I know he is mad. He is wearing his 3 piece suit. Where is he going?

"Hi Gideon!" I smiled and wave at him sheepishly.

"How many hours are you lying in the middle of the pool?"

Shoot since 9am. He doesn't need to know that.

"Thirty minutes maybe?" I replied.

He just raised a brow.

I saw the butler hands him a fluffy robe and a towel and whisper something on his ear.

His face became more thunderous.

Uh oh.

I attempted to wade my hand through the water to get away from Gideon because I have a suspicion I am in trouble.

I thought I am successful in getting away. I really did since my arms are aching already but when I look back I am still in the same freaking place and Gideon is standing on my side still wearing his freaking suit.

"Aloha?"

Ignoring me he pull my floater back to the edge of the pool.

"Love do you know that it is 2pm already! I let you oversleep because I thought you are tired last night because we are busy in the office and you delivered so much documents yesterday and you only ate a few servings of our dinner. I bet you did not even apply sunscreen"

Yah. I only eat 2 servings of pasta with that yummy green sauce and 6 pieces of garlic bread.

Sunscreen what?

Wait today is not saturday?

"You did not even eat the chocolate muffin that they serve! And where is your eyeglasses? You refuse to do lasik surgery and I know that the doctor told you not to remove it."

"It is on the table. I don't want it to get wet."

We reach the edge of the pool and I sat up forgetting that I am above the water. The floater capsize and I am submerged in the water. My knees scrape the bottom of the pool.

I am ungracefully lift by Gideon who is panicking as if I'll get drown in like I said before 3 feet of water.

He placed me in one of the pool chair and inspect my whole body.

"Did the water entered your nose love?"

"No."

"Did you hit your head?" I shake my head in denial.

"Alfred I think she hit her head. She is in the shallow part of the pool after all when she fell. Call Ken and tell him it is an emergency."

For fudge sake! No need to call a doctor!

"I am okay Gideon! I just scrape my knee see!" I lift my left leg for emphasis.

"No need to disturb the doctor."

He help me wear the bathrobe and he wrap the towel on my head.

"Increase the heating inside the house. I don't want her to get cold."

One staff bowed and do what Gideon wants.

After a few minutes the same staff went out and confirm that the whole house is warm already. Wow that was fast. I bet Gideon's electricity bill is astronomical.

He carry me bridal style and I lay my head on his chest.

"Love I know you want to swim everyday that is okay but not for 5 hours straight! That is dangerous and unhealthy! I should have went to the office late if I have an inkling you're going to do this. Your face is sunburned. "

Yup not the weekends yet. So it means I left my friends alone dealing with work. I should have check the calendar this morning.

Yeah right Ella as IF you have a Phone in hand to check the calendar. Oh no! You don't even own a phone!

Shut up! I ask Gideon to buy a desk calendar! He even bought me highlighters and more sticky notes to write any reminders.

He brought me inside the shower stall and sets up the water temperature in his elaborate shower controller.

"And you didn't even wear proper outfit love. Who wears pajama in the pool?"

Uhm me? 🤭

He removes my clothes but left my underwear on. My belly rolls and almost all my impurities are expose to Gideon right now. He doesn't care. For now his priority is to prevent me from getting sick.

He removes his suit and place all our clothes in the laundry basket and then he proceeded to wash my body first then his.

After him being a mama bear he instructs me to wear a long sleeve shirt and jogging pants. He even wants me to wear some socks but I told him to shut it. The room is warm enough. I don't need socks.

As he dries my hair he is still not finish ranting.

"I love you." He got quiet immediately.

Now that shuts him up.

"I love you too." He kiss the crown of my head.

Since I skip lunch Gideon requested a snack for me.

4 Waffles, 2 eggs and a whole loaf of bread that is toasted to perfection.

Gideon was again alarmed that I ate only half of the food that was served.

I am not sick but you know when your period is coming you are bloated and you only want to be lazy? Then the next few days I just want to sleep and the next minute I have cramps and at the same time I want to gobble up all the chocolates and sweets that I can eat.

I can not for the life of me tell Gideon that my period is coming. I always make sure that he doesn't know that I have aunt flow. I don't take pain killers for the cramps since you know my parents ruined medicines for me but if it is really bad I'll take one dose. I just place loads of heating pads maybe whimper a little in 4 days then I am done. One time he discovered aunt flow is ongoing so in Gideon's way he bought so many things that I might want.

So now I have a separate freezer all contains ice creams and chocolates. To my embarassment he ask what kind of pad or tampons Am I using since he wants to buy in bulk. I said no thank you I can buy it myself.

We are just lying on the bed him looking at his tablet and me I am rolling on the bed wrapping my whole body with the duvet to make a human buritto.

"Gideooooonnn." I called.

"Yes my beautiful buritto?"

"Let's go out. I am bored."

He close his tablet and looked at me.

I gave him the puppy eyes to convince him that I am really bored out of my mind.

"Please?"

"Fine." He said defeatedly

Yey! I unroll myself out of the duvet and dash to the walk in closet to change my longsleeves to a tshirt.

When I went back to our room Gideon wears a black shirt that did not even hide his physique it even shows his defined muscles ,black pants and a black timberland boots.

I look like I just woke up and he looks runway ready.

"You're so beautiful love." I snort. All lies. He is the beautiful one in this relationship.

Before we went out of the room and I grab my wallet that Gideon graciously provided for me which I think is not necessary. My bra and pocket is enough to keep my cash.

We went down hand in hand. I have an idea already on what to do.

I go straight to the kitchen and saw G stirring something on a fairly large pot.

"Hey G."

He turns around and smiles at me and ask. "Yes my lady?"

Lady? Me?

"Ella is fine no formalities please."

He nervously looks at Gideon.

I loop my arm on Gideon's arm and pat his shoulder to show G that Gideon is harmless and he is fine with my request.

"Don't be afraid Gideon approved. Right?" He just raised a brow in reponse.

"See! Approved! Told ya! Anyways can you please write the ingredients for cookies? I want to make some."

"I can bake it for you miss I mean Ella."

"No! NO! I want to be the one to do it."

"Just write it Giacomo" Gideon suddenly say.

G nodded and got a paper and write all the ingredients that is needed and hands it to me.

"Thank you!"

After that I drag Gideon out of the house.

We went to walmart with his grey maserati. I ask for more ordinary car but Gideon just ignores me.

Man and their cars. I shake my head.

The car ride is very smooth. No bumps, dizziness and even nausea. I have a bad case of motion sickness but with Gideon's fleets of car I never experience even one symptoms.

He parked near the entrance and his car made male species look twice.

He went out gracefully out his car while me can't even remove my seatbelt. It is getting ridiculous. Gideon even put it for me! Where are those horse drawn carriage when you need them?

He opened the door and remove my seatbelt in one click. Holds my hand and the other hand was placed on top of my head. Knowing me I'll bump my head in every corner of this car.

As usual we are accompanied by two MIB's which I don't recognize. I grab a cart and we enter the supermarket area. I look at the list and it is only flour, confectionary sugar, chocolate chips, buttermilk, baking powder.

It looks strange that Gideon is inside this place. He looks out of place even if he is wearing "casual" clothes in his definition.

We pass through all the aisle and I grab so many things that is not in the list like nutella never tries it before, peanut butter, sanitary pad might as well buy it since I am here already and to my embarassment Gideon picked up the pads and see what kind did I take. This man has no shyness in his body.

I can see people discreetly glancing at Gideon and the said man can't choose on what kind of chocolate milk he wants me to taste so in the end he bought 3 different kind. Go figure.

All the things I touch or glance he will ask if I want it. Whatever my answer is he will put it on the cart. So I did not touch any item but this man place all the items I am gazing at.

A Teenage girl needing a clothing advice badly since her clothes are a tad smaller than her body approach me and ask

"Are you like doing a Walmart haul and vlog it later?"

I look at her puzzled. Vlogging? Haul? What is that?

"Uhm yes?" I answered unsurely.

"Oh really?listen Include your boss so you will have many views and place his face on the cover of the video. Just a suggestion." Then she walked away.

I look at Gideon asking with my eyes if that conversation is weird and he just shrug his shoulders. Wow so helpful.

After 1 hour the cart is full and we are checking out. I did not go to self check out because I'll just embarass myself. As we wait in line I saw a magazine and I saw a figure that is familiar so I pick it up and saw on the cover is Gideon.

Sitting on a chair legs crossed and broodingly staring at the camera. He is wearing a black suit with blue tie and black inner, black formal shoes with red soles.

He look so handsome. If you stare at his eyes I know that he is bored.

I am imagining he is saying in his mind "Take the fudging picture already!"

The front page headline is "Rosen-Hower single handedly taking over the business world"

"When did you shoot this Gideon?"

He grab the magazine and say "last month I think."

"Why I did not know this?!"

"Love it is just an interview. Frankly the questions are not creative. They tried to ask about any personal questions."

Not creative? With the IQ of Gideon I think creative in his mind is like explaining the theory of relativity in latin. I am even shock I know that theory. That it is a theory. 😅

I grab the magazine again and placed it on the cart.

"Love you don't need to buy it. I'll just give you a free copy."

"Not a chance Gideon. The publisher needs an income to give salary to the crew so if you gave me a free copy they don't earn anything. And those poor staffs will not have money to buy food for their families. Those poor poor chil-"

He kissed me in the lips to stop me from talking. Very effective.

"Okay love buy it."

When it is our turn Gideon placed the products for the cashier lady to scan it.

"Goodafternoon!" I greeted her. When she saw me she immediately dismissed me and gave me a bored look but when she saw Gideon her eyes light up. I can feel the love lady.

She scanned all our things and god bless her she tried to talk to Gideon but the said man is busy removing some white stuff on my hair that he thought are flour that fell on my head when he grab it from the shelf or it maybe just my dandruffs.

"That is $676"

To her disappointment Gideon did not spare her any glance. I was suppose to pay but Mr. Flash beside me already place the money on the table.

The MIB grabs all our purchase and place it om the back of the SUV they brought.

We went out of the store and Gideons car was surrounded by this guys who are younger than me maybe late Highschool to college students?

"Dude you car is smokin hot!"

"Look at the rims!"

"Man I think this just got waxed." The other guy exclaimed.

Gideon just nodded at them and opened the passenger door. He guided me inside buckled my seatbelt, kiss my cheeks then close the door.

He entered the car and press a button then the car purr. We reverse out of the parking lot the guys still looking amazed.

"Gideon."

"Hmm?''

"The girl at the shop what is she talking about?"

He checks the rear view mirror before answering.

"Vlog is taking a video that you upload it on Youtube. Haul is like buying stuffs in bulk."

"Why would you take a video of you buying things and post it on this youtube? What is the benefit for the viewers?"

"I don't know love. People watch videos to pass time. And love I mentioned youtube to you before."

"Can't remember"

"The tutorials that I watch to style your hair are from youtube."

Oh..now I remember. I know instagram or IG because he post my picture there and he has so many followers.

We stop in front of a store and told me we will buy something important. I got out of the car after he unbuckled the seatbelt and enter the store.

This store is all white in color with a bitten is that an apple or pear? Ok a bitten fruit posted in the wall.

Gadgets are spread out all over tha place. One word Daunting.

A man with a black shirt and pants approach us.

"Hello welcome to Mac center may I help you."

"The latest phone in rose gold."

"Certainly sir."

Gideon drag me to one of the counters and the same man opened a box containing a phone with 3 circles at the back.

"Do you like the color?" Gideon asked.

"Huh? Color of what?"

"The phone."

It is okay a little bit girly for my taste.

"That is a phone? Where is the keypad?"

"Love that is a touch phone."

No. No. NO. I can't use that stuff.

I smile at the assistant and drag Gideon a little bit so I can talk to him.

"Gideon it is too advance for me. I just need a phone for call with a keypad preferably. Not a fudging touch screen."

"Love those things are phased out already. Look we will buy this phone then I'll teach you how to use it. Just for calls and messages okay? I just need to keep in touch with you wherever you are love. I want you to be reachable at all times to know that you are safe. Please?"

"I will not win this one am I?"

"Not a chance love."

"Fine but I want the same color as your phone the black one."

"Okay love."

We went back to the counter and then Gideon bought the same model of his phone for me. He bought a case, and a charger that is not included on the phone that is ridiculous.

We went back to the house. Baking cookies forgotten. Gideon changed his clothes and then set up my new phone in front of me.

"Okay love listen to me."

He teach me how to open and close my phone. He use thumb print because 100% I will not remember my pattern or my pin on that phone.

He save his number and put in on speed dial. If I press 1 I will call his phone immediately.

I don't like messaging because I can't see properly and too complicated for me so we chose call for my way of communication.

We practice several times and I am delighted to say that I got it. I even have the number of MIB at 4 then Gideon's office at 3 then the house phone at 5.

Yey! I Got 4 numbers saved on my phone oh 911 so 5 numbers!

Gideon took a picture of us and he place it as my home and lock screen.

"Wait how about the bill? I know call is expensive."

"Don't worry love You are included in my plan. So you have unlimited data."

Cool. I am confident that my bill is cheap since I can only contact 5 numbers.

"Bring this phone ALL the time love okay?"

I nodded.

"I can call you anytime?"

"Yes anytime love."

"How about if you are on a meeting?"

"Did I stutter love?"

Okay understood.

I excitedly shows my new phone to my three friends. Since I don't know my number they save their numbers to my phone so now I have 8 numbers saved!

They call their respective phones so they can save my number on theirs.

Gideon bought a case with string so that I can wear my phone like an ID. So innovative.

In the middle of the day Ms. Medal the one who hired me introduced us to a new employee. He is an intern so he will do his shift in different areas every week.

"Everyone this is Chase he will be with us for 3 months. So teach him the things he needs to know for him to be well versed in the corporate world because we will test him at the end of his internship Understood?"

"Yes Ms Madeline." Ow right her name is Madeline not medal.

He has a blonde hair that is cut neatly a strong jaw and slightly crook nose, fair skin and tall his eyes is brown as far as I can see. After the introduction he approach all of us and he intends to shakes all our hands when he reach me I awkwardly high five him since shaking hands is so 1900s.

He laugh at that.

"Hi I am Chase and you are?"

"Ella Hernandez. Nice to meet you!"

" I'll see you around Ella." An unexpected thing happened. He winked at me.

"Oh oh..We've got a competition..Mr Rosen-Hower should watch out."

I look at Mark strangely.

"What are you talking about?"

"Nothing baby girl. I'll make a call. Let's go back in the storage room."

I follow them bewildered by his statement. Do we have sports competition here in the company?
