Chapter 24: Giddy

I am so tired.

It should not be this way is it?

As a CEO I am allowed to slack off even just a little right?

Wrong.

If my employees are working hard I as their leader should work double.

B.E (Before Ella) I don't mind going on an unscheduled business trip but now It is not okay.

I don't even have the time to notify her where I am going because 1 minute I was informed there is a crisis in our branch in Germany then within 20 minutes we are preparing for take off.

Not even a week after our date I am neglecting Ella already.

I can't even call her because she doesn't have a phone. I will rectify that after I finish my obligations here.

I promised to myself that I will go home after 2 days but damn it it's been almost 3 days already.

I am so furious that my directors here in this branch are all incompetent. I fired their asses and promotes some their employees who are much more deserving.

Old people thought they can undermine me because I am way younger than them. WRONG.

I went back to my house here in Germany mentally exhausted. I fired at least 10 people. All are in executive level.

I am preparing for bed when my phone started ringing. I saw that it is Scott. Don't tell me there is an urgent matter in New York because I am going to Snap.

How wrong Am I.

Just one word coming from her is like a Panacea.

Who is exhausted? Me? Uh.uh. not me.

I am re-energize already.

She just say my name and I am smiling like a fool. How pathetic am I?

I got worried because she never calls me so I thought something happened to her. Maybe she tripped? Bump to a wall ? door? or even a papercut is an emergency when it comes to her. Pathetic I know.

I convert our call to face time to see her.

Its funny because I can only see the side of her face mostly her ears but she is still fucking gorgeous. She is not focusing the camera properly that is given because according to her she is technologically illiterate.

And then she said those 3 words. I am just trying my luck if she really misses me but she said it.

Those three words made me feel Giddy. It's a foreign feeling.

But I love it.

She drops the call after a few minutes but I am still giddy. Like a child experiencing sugar rush.

She misses me.

Fuck this work I am going home tomorrow.

I don't care if this branch collapses. I still have 50 more headquarters in other countries.

What a bad thought.

I prepare for bed and plan my agenda tomorrow. I message my pilot to prepare the Jet at 10am.

I need to finish this mess already because there is someone waiting for me back home.

I delegated all the necessary task to all newly appointed directors. I nicely inform them what will happen to them if this situation is repeated again.

With a shaky voice my newly appointed directors assures me that they will do their best to handle this branch properly. That is enough for me. For now.

I quickly went to town to buy some gifts for Ella. I hope she will love it.

At exactly 10am I am going back home.

I did not sleep at all.

I am so excited to see him. Its been almost 4 days? Am I counting it right? Anyway here I am preparing to go to the office.

As usual Mr. Shades is outside waiting for me.

I greet him and the driver and went inside the car.

"Mr. shades?"

" Yes Maam?"

"When will he be back?"

"Approximately in 20 minutes maam"

I smile so big I think I might scared Mr. Shades a little bit.

He is here! Well I mean he will be here!

I tap Mr. Shades shoulder again

"Let's meet him at the airport. Let's go! Don't tell him that we will go there"

He just nodded and say some weird stuff. You see Gideon's staff always talk with no one around them just like now.

"Queen. Detour with Queen to Alpha".

See? I mean I did not go to college but even I know that sentence doesn't make any sense at all.

I relax on my seat and enjoy the ride.

I distract myself by looking at the window and wave at everyone who is passingby.

"We are here Maam"

I did not wait for them to open the door for me. I opened it and made my way at the entrance of the airport. Mr. Shades and another person wearing the same outfit as Mr. Shades flank me on both sides. I got nervous because there is a guard at the door. I have no legal ID with me. He was in the act of stopping me but when he saw these two beside me he just let us through. I stop in front of him and thank him for letting me in illegaly.

I will remember his face so that I will buy him a snack later for his kindness.

These two hulking man guide me through a hall and we stop at the entrance.

After a few minutes I see Gideon walking towards me. I know he did not see me yet because he is busy scowling at his phone. He has entourage 4 guys in a black suit surrounding him.

As soon as I saw him I run towards him.

As fast as my short legs can.

He looks up because he heard the stomp of my feet and he was surprise and even I am surprise by my action when I suddenly jump at him. His phone fell from his hand and when he catches me this dude at his side suddenly dive to the ground to save Gideon's phone.

It is so funny because when I look at his face he looks so surprise and his eyes are big like he doesn't believe that I am in front of him.

I smiled at him brightly, kiss him on his cheek, hugged him and whispered on his ear "Welcome back"

I heard his breath hitch and I felt him tighten his hug on me. He kiss me on my forehead and cheek.

" I am back my love"

Soon I can feel the stares of his entourage so I tried the key word here is "tried" to go down but he refuse. So I just go limp on his arms and let him carry me upto the car.

People are staring. I know because I have a goosebumps and of course if you see a 6 foot something gorgeous male surrounded by suit clad men carrying a homeless girl you will also stare.

As we are walking rather as Gideon is walking to the car which is conveniently park in front of the entrance I remember the nice guard who let me through so I tap the shoulder of Gideon to stop and he did and called Mr. Shades.

Mr. Shades stand in front of me and to the horror of Gideon I pull out a $50 bill from my bra and give it to Mr. Shades.

It was funny because he can't decide if he will get the money or not but in the end I push it to his hands so he doesn't have a choice but to take it.

"Please buy the nice security man a snack and give the change to him okay?Thank you"

I tap Gideon's shoulder again to resume walking. I feel like he is striding now not the same as before were he walk leisurely as if he has all the time in the world.

He deposited me inside the car safely. As he entered the car I saw him scowling again.

What did I do wrong?

He was happy 5minutes ago.

Let's analyze where it went wrong.

He became mad when I gave the money to Mr. Shades. Maybe he doesn't have any money?

"Gideon?" As he glance at me and like a magician I pull out another bill from my bra and this time it is $100 lucky him.

I beam at him urging him just to lift even just the corner of his lips but no he looks like he is furious now.

"$100 is not enough?"

I look inside the left cup of my bra because I know I have another benjamin inside.

"Aha! Found it!"

I pull out the bill and give it to Gideon and again smiling maybe this is enough already because I only have $250 on my bra.

"I know Gideon there are trying times and this is your time so don't be shy and take the money. You can pay me later."

I grab his hand and place the money on his hand.

He looks up and mumbles something and wrap his arms around me. He let out a laugh like a combination of he is in disbelief and he gave up already.

He kisses my head and said "Only you Ella Only you."

"To hermes Jake"

We stop to a big store with a suited man again standing outside and for godsake there is a red carpet placed outside.

Gideon guided me inside the store and I am in awe. Colorful bags, shoes and accessories was on display.

An attendant approach us and she gave us a corteous smile.

"Mr. Rosen-Hower Welcome. What can I do for you."

Gideon nodded and he walks around the store and me just following him. He inspected all the bags and even the clothes. I also browse their product with no interest but one wallet caught my attention it is a bright blue folded wallet. It is really simple no designs or whatever. As I look inside the glass case I suddenly recoiled when I saw the price.

Freaking $2,500 for a small wallet?!

What kind of sorcery is this?

I grab Gideon's hand and urge him to go out of the store. The price here are ludicrous. If a mere wallet is $2,500 how much more is their bags and shoes?

Due to size difference Gideon did not budge at all he even drag me near the glass case.

"What a good choice love but I think it is a little bit small?" He signals the attendant to come to us and said

"I want a wallet a little bit bigger where there is a long strap that she can hang it across her body."

"Certainly sir."

"Is there a matching bag? Or do I need to pre order it so you can customize it to my Fiancè's liking?

You want the same color love?"

I ignore him. And he still continue ordering the attendant as if I am not silently protesting beside him.

"Oh I know. She loves the color purple."

Purple?

I purple you!

I look up at Gideon when he mentioned the word purple and I saw the glint in his eyes when he realizes that I really love a purple bag.

Jam him!

"Crocodile skin in purple would be lovely isn't it? A medium size I believe will fit her perfectly."

He handed her a black card and the attendant recieve it wholeheartedly.

I signal Gideon to lower his head so I can whisper to his ear

"Gideon that is expensive! I don't need those things at all!"

"Yes you do love. It is inappropriate to pull out money in your underwear Ella in public."

"No its not. It is totally normal"

"Says who?" He rebutted

"Says Lao tzu!" Whoever that was.

This dude. Just drop a serious amount of cash in just a wallet and bag.

I am ignorant in terms of brands and whatnot but I know if the store has a guard wearing suit and the clerk is wearing a white gloves and you can "pre-order' a customize piece this is an expensive store.

The attendant handed Gideon's card back.

"We will deliver it to your residence sir when it is ready."

"Thank you."

After that we went out of the store and went back inside the car.

I thought that we are going back to the office because it is already 11am.

Gideon started playing with my hands and he particularly pay attention to my ring finger.

"We are not going back to the office?'' I ask him.

"Nope"

Marck and Eric might be worried already.

"Where are we going?" I ask again. Now he is playing both of my hands.

"You'll see"

The car suddenly drive to much more residential areas and then after a few minutes we are driving to an executive and gated community.

I don't know that there is a place like this here in New York.

Suddenly we stop to an enormous gate. The said gate opened immediately and we entered a pathway with a big garden on each side.

I saw man in black scattered around the area.

We stop infront of the main door and Gideon help me to go out of the car.

In awe I look up. I mean way up with my mouth open taking in the beauty of this place. Plants everywhere. People roaming the area that I assume are workers that maintain this place.

I think there is a drool coming out of my mouth.

I turn to Gideon who is looking amused and ask him

"Is this the white house? Are we allowed to even come here?"

"No love. White house is in Washington"

"Oh. Really?"he nodded.

"Then what is this? A museum? You know I want to visit some"

"Nope. Wrong answer. And we will go to a museum next time."

"So where are we? I don't want to get jailed because of trespassing mister"

"Welcome to my house Love."
