Pic of Addison

As the sun rised, its rays passed through the window and fell on the sleeping face of Addison Carter. She turned and buried her head in the fluffy pillow to block out the harsh morning rays. Getting into a comfortable position away from the sun she slowly fell back to sleep. But fate had a different plan cause that instant her alarm went off with a loud awful shrill that had her blindly waving her hands to find and switch it of. Her current action looked absolutely scary, come on a lady with bed hair covering her face and hands moving in a not so ordeal fashion will surely scare the living daylights out of someone.

After she finally located that wretched alarm clock she got up and saw that the time was 7:05am. Signing she got up and dragged herself to the bathroom hoping a cold shower would fix her problem of feeling sleepy. Half an hour in the shower did help her a bit to wake up. Horrified she stared at herself in the mirror and took in the tired grey eyes, purple bags under her eyes. Her long dirty blond hair was wet making her bangs stick out in different directions. Cursing at herself she left the bathroom and started getting dressed in her work clothes that consisted of a grey formal skirt and crisp ironed whit shirt. Putting on light make-up, tying her hair in high pony and strapping her watch she lifted her bag and coat and headed down to the kitchen.

"Hey Mom, What you made for breakfast? I'm starved." She asked as she entered the kitchen.

Rosalie Carter was a sweet good looking woman who had all the motherly looks yet attractive. She had hair just like her daughter but had deep brown eyes. Upon hearing Addison she smiles sweetly and runs to hug her daughter.

"Oh honey you look horrible. What did you do yesterday?" She eyed her suspiciously.

"Gee thanks mom. I had a last minute meeting which later followed a conference call with my offices in Asia. Apparently it was morning for them." She signed.

"You work too much sweetie. Take a break sometimes. It will do you good." She replied and then went back to making breakfast.

"Mom, being the boss has its many disadvantages too." She stated sitting down on the chair.

"Yea okay, listen go wake up Cassidy. Last night she waited to see you but after a lot of forcing from my side she fell asleep. You should be gratefully I agreed to come stay here the night or else that girl would have waited for you the entire night." She scolded her while eyeing the eggs on the stove.

Addison smiled at the thought of her daughter. No matter how many times she told her, Cassidy always wished to wait for her mom to come home. It wasn't always that she returned home late but if in some cases she does her mom comes to her rescue. Cassidy can be so stubborn when she wants "Okay I'll be back. I'll get her dressed for school and will leave her there on the way." She left the kitchen and headed upstairs to Cassidy's room.

As she entered she saw Cassidy curled up under her blankets. Addison neared the bed and stared down at her precious daughter. She loved her so much that she would give up anything for a smile on her face. As she looked at Cassidy's angelic face she couldn't ignore how similar she looked to her father. Thinking about that bastard stung her and tears welled up in her eyes threatening to fall. Her past was what she willed to forget, but as hard as she did it came back to her at the most unexpected time. All she was ever grateful for was that her past gave her Cassidy and that was one thing she didn't regret.

She sat down on the bed and gently shook her. "Cassy darling, Get up time for school."

Cassidy stirred and opened her eyes, groggily staring at her mom. She rubbed her eyes to remove the sleep, which looked so comical that a chuckle escaped Addison's mouth. Looking at her Cassidy smiled and whispered in her cute baby voice,

"Mommy I don't wanna go school." Laughing Addison carried her to the bathroom and made her stand on her stool at the sink." Now Now Cassy, what mommy told you so many times? School is very important. Don't you wanna be pilot like Uncle Joe?" She asked while pulling her toothbrush handing it to her.

"Oooooo you mean a bird. Okay I have to get ready for school then." She smiled at her self and started brushing her teeth.

Laughing quietly Addison helped her wash up. After doing so she carried her back and started dressing her up. She loved to fuss over her and did so by always making her look like an angel in beautiful dresses. For now she choose a cream color cotton dress and matching sandals. Her long brown hair tied in a pony with cute clips on it. Satisfied with how Cassidy looked she picked up her small Barbie bag and placed it on her shoulder.

"You make me look like a princess mommy" Cassidy squealed happily while turning around and seeing herself in the long mirror.

"That's because my sweet Cassy, you already are a princess."

Cassidy smiled and ran to hug her mothers' legs. "Come on lets go see what Grams made special for you in breakfast today, huh."

Hand in hand both mother and daughter went down for a long awaited break-fast.

"Ah finally my lil' girl is up and ready. Come on sit and have your breakfast. Grams made your favorite pancakes." Rose cooed. Running forward Cassidy hugged her, "Grams thank you. You are the best." She yelled in her baby voice. Laughing she picked her up and sat her down on the chair made for her. Placing 2 pancakes with chocolate syrup in front of her, Cassidy wasted no time to gobble them up, while Rose fussed around with her.

Addison quietly watched her daughter and mother laughing together. She thought about how her mom and dad were so supporting when they found out she was pregnant. They didn't hold any remorse and welcomed Cassidy with open arms. Dad was the person who never let Cassidy feel the loss of her father. That man didn't even deserve to be in her life and it's a good thing he doesn't know she exists. Shaking her head to remove the memories, she finished her meal and stood up.

"Come Cassy go wash up its time to leave." she nodded and skipped to the sink to wash up. She turned to her mother, "Thanks mom for staying over. Will you be leaving soon? Do you want me to drop you on the way?"

"No honey I'll go on my own. I have to buy stuff from the market. You go ahead I'll finish up her and then leave."

"Cool. Love you mom. Bye."

"Bye, Grams"

"Bye sweethearts. Have a great day." She called back as Addison closed the door. After securing Cassy in the back, she walked to the front and got behind the wheel. Pulling out the car from the drive way she headed towards London's busy world.

"Mommy will you come and pick me up from school today?"

"Honey if I'm free I'll come, otherwise aunty Jade will pick you and bring you the office." She apologetically looked her through the rear-view mirror.

"Oh okay mommy." Cassidy smiled back in understanding. She was smart for her age. She knew the life her mom lived and understood it. Like other five year old she wasn't too fussy or demanding. Though she didn't voice it out she knew that the times her mother cried without reason had something to do with her long lost father. And whenever these crying episodes occurred she quietly goes and hugs her mother, sending her message by being by her side. Though Addison is reminded of HIM by looking at her, she can't dream of life without her.

Pulling up at P.G Grayson kindergarten and middle school she got out and opened the door for Cassidy to get out. She keeled to her height and hugged her.

"Be good sweetie. I'll try to pick you up okay. Have fun and no more pranks on Mrs. Puddle okay."

"Oh mommy no fair, Mrs. Puddle very bad." She pouts at her mother. Addison chuckled and got up.

"Okay now off you go. Bye I love you baby."

"Bye mommy I love you too." She yelled and ran into the building. Looking at her as she safely enters the school; Addison enters the car and drives off to work.

After an hour she enters Maxwell Advertising Company and parks at the reserved parking for her. Staring at the two twenty four storey buildings she sighs.

Working for the past 3 years she has brought MAC to the top 5 advertising company. After her Uncle Sam died he gave her the small company which was used for small advertising. With 2 years of Management and 1 year of Economic course she took the company as a challenge. Being a single mother she did both jobs equally well. Putting her heart and soul she achieved a name in the field and earned well for her daughter.

Being young in the field brought her challenges everyday, most of them being egoistic older competitive company owners. But every passing challenge she doesn't wavier of the track. She handles all her problems professionally and calmly. Many wait for her to break from shell she created around her. She wasn't a harsh boss all she did was being optimistic and face her obstacle determinedly.

She got out and locked her car. Walking towards the building she smiled at her co-workers and thought
