《COME TO ME | PJM》Chapter 97

Y/N quickly changed out of her black outfit into a plain outfit more suited for a checkup. She went with a loose white blouse and comfortable blue trousers. Y/N then grabbed her car keys and went downstairs.

"Oh Y/N, you don't need to drive there." Grandma called, guiding her outside the door. Jimin was at the front door, leaning against his car while checking his phone. "Jimin has been waiting to take you." Grandma smiled.

"Jimin's here? Isn't he supposed to be at work right now?" Y/N raised a brow.

"What are you talking about? Of course he would accompany you to the hospital to check on the baby. Is he not the father of the kid too?" She gave Y/N a light pat on her back. "Don't let him wait any longer, go now and be careful alright?"

"Okay Grandma." Y/N smiled.

Jimin looked up and noticed Y/N walking towards him. He tucked his phone back into his pocket and smiled, stepping aside to open the door for her.

Y/N felt rather nervous as she walked towards him. She took his hand as he guided her into the car, before closing the door and making his way over to the drivers side.

The two couldn't help but feel incredibly awkward being alone together. The air felt particularly heavy, and Jimin cleared his throat to break the silence.

"How was the funeral?" He spoke first.

Y/N stared out the window, resisting the urge to look at him.

"It was alright." She replied.

Jimin internally sighed. It didn't seem like it was possible for them to act normal right now. The car quickly fell silent, and they sat there quietly for the rest of the ride; neither feeling brave enough to speak.

Jimin pulled into the hospital car park, heading around the car to open the door for Y/N. Y/N thanked him quietly and they made their way over to the receptionist to sign in.

"The doctor will be with you in a moment. Please take a seat over there." The receptionist pointed over to the waiting area. Today Y/N was booked to have an ultrasound and a general body checkup to make sure she wasn't at risk of losing the child.

"Do you want me to come in with you?" Jimin asked quietly. He did want to come with Y/N, but he was afraid that she would be uncomfortable with the idea and he didn't want to push things right now.

Y/N shook her head. "It's up to you. After all, it's your baby too. If you want to come in you can." she replied nonchalantly. Even though she did feel rather awkward with Jimin right now especially after their fight last night, he did leave work to drive her here. She felt that it would be a bit cruel to forbid him from seeing how the baby was doing.

A nurse approached the couple. "Mr and Mrs. Park, please follow me. The doctor will see you now."

The nurse guided them into a small room where the doctor waited for them. He greeted the couple politely and asked Y/N to take a seat on the reclining bed.

"We're going to do the ultrasound first." He smiled, adjusting the reclining bed so Y/N sat in a slightly inclined position. "Since it's still quite early in the pregnancy, we won't be able to determine the gender or see any defining shape." The doctor explained. "But we will be able to check if your baby has a strong heartbeat."

Y/N nodded, slightly nervous. A nurse entered the room with the ultrasound machine and a trolley with a few supplies. She grabbed a tube of gel and asked Y/N to unbutton her blouse, exposing her stomach.

"It's going to feel cold." She reassured.

She then applied the water based gel generously over Y/N's stomach. Jimin stood next to Y/N quietly; she could tell that he was just as nervous as she was. The nurse then pressed the transducer lightly on the gelled areas and started moving it around.

"This is your baby." The nurse gestured towards a small round and barely defined shape that was being shown on the screen. "At 8 weeks the child is around an inch long. When you come back in your later stages of pregnancy we'll be able to help you determine the gender as well."

Jimin squeezed Y/N's shoulder. He wasn't here when Y/N was pregnant with Joon Min, so this was an entirely new experience for him. He couldn't help but feel warm inside knowing that he was starting to see the early stages of development of his second child. This time he was going to be around for it.

Suddenly, a loud and steady beating sound could be heard coming from the machine.

"This is your baby's heartbeat. I'm happy to say that the heart sounds normal and strong!" The nurse smiled.

Y/N and Jimin sighed in relief, big smiles could be seen on both their faces. There had been a lot of ups and downs since the decision was made to have a second child, and it was rewarding and emotional to know that things were most likely going to be okay.

------------

After the ultrasound, Y/N underwent a few more routine body checkups while Jimin waited outside. The doctor sent her off and the receptionist printed the available examination results and handed it to Y/N. The other test results would be processed and sent to them later.

Jimin and Y/N walked beside each other quietly. Y/N was reading the papers, double checking that everything looked fine. Although the doctor had told her she was most likely okay, she knew that her body was a bit on the weak side so she didn't want to take any chances with her health. Suddenly, a hand wrapped tightly around her small wrist and pulled her to the side.

Y/N yelped quietly as she collided lightly into Jimin's chest as he wrapped an arm around her. A group of medical staff rushed by with a patient on a moveable bed. Jimin let go of Y/N and spun her to face him.

"Y/N, are you okay?" Jimin observed her carefully, checking if she was hurt anywhere.

Y/N backed away noticing the proximity between their faces right now. His gaze had always been on the intense side, and Y/N couldn't help but feel nervous over the way he was looking directly into her eyes right now.

"Yeah, I'm okay. Thank you." She averted her eyes quickly and moved away from Jimin.

"You need to be more careful and watch your step as you walk." His face was serious.

Before Y/N could respond, Jimin bent down and hooked his arm under Y/N's knees and lifted her up into a princess carry. Y/N gasped in shock and instinctively wrapped her arms around Jimin's neck.

"Park Jimin, what are you doing? There's a lot of people here, put me down! I can walk on my own." Jimin ignored her and carried her to the parking lot as other patients looked at them weirdly. Once they reached the car Jimin finally let Y/N down so she could get in.

"You're crazy, you know that?" Y/N huffed, crossing her arms. Her face was red from embarrassment.

Jimin laughed at Y/N's puffed cheeks; she really was cute when she was shy. He reached over and grabbed her chin before leaning in and stealing a kiss. Y/N paused for a moment but quickly pushed Jimin away. She thought about how Jimin was probably at Seulgi's last night.

"Don't use your lips that just kissed another woman to kiss me."

Jimin was startled by her words, unsure what she meant. "What are you talking about, Y/N?"

"What else could I possibly mean?" Y/N glared at him. "You went to Seulgi's last night didn't you?"

Jimin could feel his anger rising again. What does Seulgi have to do with any of this? Why does she think I was at Seulgi's last night?

"What about you then Y/N? Haven't another man's lips been on yours too? Perhaps it wasn't the first time, that's why you didn't say anything when you found out? You two have been together for so long I wouldn't even be surprised if you've done more together."

Y/N looked at Jimin, a mixture of shock and hurt on her face.

Seeing her face, Jimin immediately regretted his words; he couldn't believe he said all that. He knew that his anger would cause him to say hurtful words, even if he didn't mean it at all.

"Y/N I-"

"Jimin, enough!" Y/N cut him off sternly; her eyes were now red with anger. "Open the door now Jimin. I want you to let me out."

"Let me explain-" Jimin pleaded.

"There's nothing to explain. Of course, I am and always will be that low in your eyes. We're going to divorce soon anyway so why can't you leave me alone like you did before? I want a peaceful life, I don't want to keep fighting with you. I'm tired, Jimin." Tears fell uncontrollably onto Y/N's cheeks as all her emotions and frustrations poured out of her.

Jimin felt his heart ache seeing her in so much pain. He reached over to wipe her tears but Y/N pushed his hand away harshly.

"Don't touch me.".

Jimin's hand went stiff, unable to move.

"Y/N..."

Y/N reached over and pressed the unlock button for the car door before quickly getting out. She walked as fast as she could away from Jimin, into the crowd. She didn't care where she was going as long as it was away from him. Seeing that he was starting to lose sight of her, Jimin quickly snapped out of his daze and started the car. He hurriedly drove his car onto the road beside the sidewalk to catch up to her but she quickly walked down to the subway.

Jimin pulled over and parked the car nearby, running down the stairs into the subway station. It was currently peak hour and extremely crowded, so it was almost impossible to find anyone. Jimin ran around the station, trying to look for a glimpse of the tan coat that Y/N was wearing today. He tried calling her phone but it was sent to voicemail; she must have turned her phone off.

Y/N's teary face kept replying in his mind and he couldn't help but felt heartbroken and regretful of his words. Jimin was the kind of person who generally had a good grip on his emotions, so he wasn't sure why when he was around Y/N, he felt like his feelings were thrown on a rollercoaster.

He felt helpless, there was nothing he could do now. He would be searching forever at this rate. Jimin just prayed that Y/N would eventually come home safely after having some time to herself.

Jimin walked out of the subway station and back to his car, driving home first.

-----------

Grandma looked up to see Jimin entering the house alone, and with a worried expression on his face. He scanned the house quickly before sighing. At that point she knew immediately that something must have happened between the two again. She frowned and approached him. "Where is Y/N?"

"She still has things to do." Jimin lied, preparing to leave the house again. "If she comes back, please give me a call Grandma."

"What did you do this time, Jimin?" Grandma shook her head. She was about to scold him again, but Jimin had already turned away and left the house.

She watched him leave and sighed helplessly. "When will he learn... Is it that hard for them to come to terms with their feelings? Young people are so complicated..."

"Don't worry Madame, Mister will understand sooner or later." The butler replied cautiously, escorting her back to the living room.

"I wish." Grandma replied. "I shouldn't meddle but look at how helpless he is..."

------------

Y/N entered the subway station and quickly jumped into the first train that arrived at the platform. She didn't know where this one was going, but she didn't care. Y/N didn't want to face this man right now, especially not after what he had just said. Y/N sat down on a free seat and closed her eyes, gradually calming down.

She groaned as she realised she didn't have her bag right now; she only had her subway card and her phone. As there was no money on her she couldn't stay out long even if she wanted to. Y/N pulled her phone out of her pocket only to see multiple missed calls from Jimin. She ignored them and called dialed Krystal; she was the only one she could turn to right now.

Krystal could hear the distress in Y/N's voice as she asked her to pick her up.

"Just wait for me there, I'll come now."

Krystal was the kind of girl who would never leave the house without doing her makeup and wearing some nice clothes, but right now she was worried about Y/N so she opted for a mask instead before running to pick her up.

"Hey." Krystal called from the car window as she saw Y/N standing on the sidewalk. "Let's go."

Y/N sighed in relief seeing Krystal's face and eagerly hopped into the car.

"You went to the hospital today, right? To check on the baby...so, how was it?" Krystal started the conversation before she asked what she was doing in the subway.

"Yes, thankfully the baby is healthy." Y/N said while smiling.

"What happened then?" Krystal asked, wondering what happened to make Y/N look this sad. "Is it Jimin?"

Y/N chuckled bitterly. "We got into another fight earlier..."

Krystal immediately took her mask off in annoyance. "What did he do this time?" She asked angrily.

Y/N looked down, unsure of how to respond.

Krystal sighed and turned her attention back to the road. "Forget about him, let's go back to my place. We could spend time together or you could even spend the night. I bet Grandma wouldn't mind, and if you're worried about Joonie, ask someone to drop him off at mine..." She suggested.

Krystal unlocked the door to the house and let Y/N in. Seeing the condition of the place, Y/N figured that Krystal definitely didn't do anything all day... Actually, it seemed like she just woke up. "You haven't eaten, have you?" Y/N asked, taking off her shoes.

"Oh my God, Y/N! You know me so well." Krystal laughed. "When you called me I was sleeping, so I wasn't able to even shower before I left to pick you up..." Krystal shrugged playfully.

"Alright just go wash up and I'll cook you a meal." Y/N giggled.

"Y/N you're the best!" Krystal cooed and made her way to the bathroom.

While preparing the food, her phone rang. It was Grandma. "Y/N, where are you?"

"Grandma, I'm at Krystal's house now." Y/N replied while sitting on the dining room chair.

"Are you having a fight with Jimin again?"

Y/N didn't feel like answering this question. "I'll be home soon, Grandma."

"Y/N, just stay there for the night."

Y/N didn't expect that Grandma would say this. "Grandma..."

"I can't let him get away like this, just let him suffer a bit more and stay there tonight. Don't worry about Joonie, we'll take good care of him." She said while smiling, satisfied with her plan. When Y/N was about to reply, Grandma had already hung up the phone.

Later, Krystal stepped out of the bathroom having finished her shower. She walked over to the dining table, her hair still wrapped in a towel. "Wow look at this spread! It looks great, thank you Y/N." she beamed, picking up the chopsticks.

While she was eating, Krystal noticed that Y/N seemed a little spaced out. She stared at her phone, fiddling with it.

"Is everything okay? Did someone call earlier?" Krystal spoke in between bites.

"Grandma called."

"Oh. What did she say? She asked you to come home?" She asked while taking another bite.

"No, she told me to stay for the night and not to worry about Joonie."

"Wow, I like his Grandma..." Krystal chuckled in surprise. "She wants him to suffer doesn't she. I'm glad someone in that household has common sense."

Y/N just wanted to get away from Jimin, she couldn't stand the man right now. This might be a good idea, to be away from him for a while.

Suddenly, Krystal's phone rang. She reached over to pick it up; it was an unknown number. "Hello..."

"Miss Jung, It's Jimin."

Krystal just barely stopped herself from spitting out the noodles in her mouth. She swallowed quickly and reached for a glass of water to wash it down faster. She coughed awkwardly before turning her attention back to the phone. "Jimin? Is something wrong?" she replied, trying to sound casual.

"Is Y/N at your place?"

"Y/N? Why are you asking me? If you don't know where your wife is how should I know?" Krystal laughed nervously, chucking panicked glances over at Y/N's direction.

"What the hell do I do." Krystal mouthed exaggeratedly.

Y/N internally facepalmed; Krystal was doing a horrible job at not sounding suspicious.

"Miss Jung, I just need you to tell me if Y/N is at your place or not."

"No!" Krystal hung up immediately and laughed awkwardly, setting her phone to the side. She decided not to turn off her phone in case Jimin called again; she wanted to have an opportunity to scold the man that people think so highly of.

"Is he just looking for me?" Y/N asked.

"Yeah, he sounded worried though." Krystal shrugged. "Let's hope he doesn't bother us again."

"Let's go do grocery shopping after this, I don't have much food in my fridge. So you can cook dinner for us..." Krystal batted her eyelashes and smiled at Y/N innocently.

Y/N laughed. "Sure. You literally just ate lunch though, I can't believe you're thinking about dinner already."

Krystal nudged Y/N playfully. "I can't let this chance go by, I have a good cook staying at my place right now." she winked.

Jimin put his phone down and massaged his temples lightly. He knew that if he tried calling Krystal again, she would still say the same thing.

He went to the dance studio and asked where Krystal lived but nobody knew. He let out a frustrating groan and finally called Taehyung to find where Krystal lived and immediately drove there.

---------

This time Krystal was helping Y/N preparing dinner, but she accidentally cut herself while cutting the tomato.

"Fuuuuu- Holy crap that HURTS." Krystal yelled.

Y/N grabbed a paper towel and quickly wrapped it around Krystal's finger. "Geez- how did you manage to do that. Quick, go and put a bandaid on and let me do the rest of the dinner preparations."

"I really can't cook." Krystal laughed and went to go find the first aid box.

While treating her wounds, the doorbell suddenly rings. "Door!" Y/N shouted from the kitchen. Krystal raised her eyebrow. "Who would be here at this time?"

She finished sticking the bandaid onto her finger and ran to the door to look at the doorbell camera.

It was Jimin.

Krystal panicked and ran back to the kitchen. "Y/N! Listen, I don't know how the hell he found out where I live but Jimin is outside."

Y/N put the knife down. She knew that it was easy for Jimin to find people's addresses; that part wasn't surprising. But she didn't expect him to actually come to Krystal's to find her.

"So? What do I tell him?" Krystal waved her arms around.

Y/N sighed and turned her attention back to the vegetables. "Just tell him i'm here and tell him to go home."

Krystal nodded and returned to the door, pressing the intercom button.

"Yes?"

"Miss Jung, is Y/N inside?"

"Yes, she is here. She'll be back home when she's ready. Since you know that she's here and okay...then please, just go home." Krystal replied exasperatedly.

"I'm going to wait here until she comes out."
